Who are the typical fan casts for T'Chaka? Has Denzel been mentioned?

Because I'd LOVE for him to be T'Chaka!

I'm not sure Denzel would take a supporting role a film in which he probably dies within the first half an hour. Also Denzel's salary is probably outside of Marvels usual pay structure. Denzel would have to take a pay cut and probably be really enthusiastic about the film to do it.

I think it might be interesting if Marvel asked Denzel or Forest Whitaker to direct Black Panther. Both have directed movies before and are veterans in the industry so know alot about filmmaking.

If Marvel want a name actor as T'Chaka then I think Laurence Fishburne, Danny Glover, or Wesley Snipes might be a choice.

If they want a popular veteran black actor who isn't necessarily a household name then Dennis Haysbert, Delroy Lindo, Harry Lennix, David Oyelowo, David Harewood, Paterson Joseph, Eamonn Walker and Hugh Quarshie are all great choices.

Marvel if they really wanted Denzel could pay him a percentage of the gross. If I'm not mistaken that's how RDJ ended up with $50 million for Iron Man 3.

He would probably only do it if T'Chaka dies in the third act. If you look at the history of his movies, he's not against his characters getting killed, just not until the third act of his movies.

I had a thought that will probably never happen. However I think a great way to introduce the Black Panther would be as an adversary for The Avengers. It would parallel well with his first introduction into the marvel universe when he kidnapped the Fantastic Four and put them on trial. I think it was a trial I'm not sure it's been a long time since I read that.

I don't know about adversary. Antagonist might be interesting in the sense that he has a different world view to them but maybe not a full on attacking the avengers type way

I could see a scenario in which Ultron destroy parts of Wakanda. T'Challa could hold Tony Stark and by extension the avengers responsible which leads to a confrontation with the avengers.

I doubt this will ever happen though.

OH GOD YASSSSSS TO FREAMON BEING IN THIS PERFECT CASTING IS PERFECT!

When I suggested Denzel, I was thinking that they introduce him in Cap 3, with a similar role (not as a villain though, just screen time amount) as Redford had. Cap needs T'Chaka's assistance for something, and it is revealed he is the current BP.

Then in BP's movie, they introduce T'Challa and Shuri.

But hell yes to Clarke Peters! I'd rather fan cast this movie with people from The Wire than GoT, if we're talking HBO shows
