So what you're saying is that you would also **** up a major adaptation, therefore Trank is aces? Okay then...

Trust me, if someone proceeded to butcher their favorite Superhero(s), they'd be screaming mad.

Your right context never changes anything (sarcasm). We should interpet everything printed exactly at face value.(sarcasm) See what I did there?

The ****ty secertary is a thing in books, movies and television. It's not an implication that she wears revealing clothes or talks like a sailor. It's an energy they bring to the scene that oozes sexuality. In recent memory Scarlet played upon that trope in Iron Man 2.

But it does tell me that he knows absolutely nothing about Sue. However, I would not go and see a movie with Sue portrayed as she was in the early comics, as in the "damsel in distress" as a kid that held nothing for me, I was much more intrigued with Johnny...as a woman of the 21st century, I certainly do not want that kind of stereotypical portrayal of Sue. Though I have to hold out my opinion of Mara in the role, I'm just not sure how it will go...I am fine with what I'm hearing and seeing as far as the occupation of Sue, etc. AND...if she is far more the emotional backbone of the group I will be even happier. Nothing I have seen has shown me that, but I'm open to a "wait and see" on Sue. However, Trank's interviews are doing nothing to show me he knows a thing about the Fantastic Four, in ANY of of the comics, 616, MK, UFF or other.....I do however believe that he can count to 4.

I'm rather incredulous that positively anything about her will be ****ty.

It's neither something that really fits with Kate Mara's demeanor as an actress nor something that looks like it would fit with the type of movie FF looks to be - either from the trailer, or the other thinks Trank has said about the film.

Look at you... having faith in the face of adversity. :o

Nope. If this were a female superhero or a minority superhero I'd be worried. Punisher got three reboots.

People are acting like bad adaptations means stuff is vacuumed sealed away forever.

I already know with 100% confidence if this fails another version is coming. And that's what's really sad.

Blade has been a success and I'm still waiting for that reboot, and my Runaways or Daughters of the Dragon Netflix series.

Oh, I don't think she will be written in any way like that....but the fact that he (Trank) thinks that is how she is/was in the comics, tells me he hasn't really read the comics, other than looked at some of the covers of the UFF series.

And as I said, if she is written as an intelligent, emotional strength of the 4, along with that idea that she can actually kick everyone's ass, but that isn't who she is....and they can bring that to the big screen, if Mara can do that, more power to her. I want more heartfelt smiles from mouth to the eyes, and less rolling of the eyes as we had in the first 2 movies....IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE... lol

I wouldn't put too much stock in his counting ability. It's been reported that five people get powers in the accident. :o

Well, I understand that major fans of Doom don't like that aspect....as for me, it wasn't a big deal...if he BECOMES the Doom in look and power, then I'm fine with that...

So did anyone involved with this movie actually want to make a Fantastic Four movie?

I totally understand why Die Hard OG FF fans will be upset with this movie. I can relate, I'm a big X-Men and Jean Grey fan and I got Last Stand. :/

I'm not a huge fan of Fantastic Four, but I am interested in seeing this film because it is taking a more serious tone compared to the horrible ones years ago. And Simon Kinberg is writing it, so I have faith that it will be good. Although I am a fan of the more serious tone of comic book films (Dark Knight, Man of Steel, DOFP, Winter Soldier) and get annoyed by the comedic elements that Marvel tends to put in their films (the dancing scene at the climax of GOTG is pisses me off to no end).

Anyways, I like what I've seen and heard from this film so far. Was Josh's comparison of Sue the most accurate? No. What he described as Sue in his film the best direction? Yes.

I'm really interested in how GOTG2 goes. There were a lot of funny moments but nothing actually memorable character wise that wasn't resolved by movies end.

I'm wondering if the sequel will fall into Ghostbusters trap where it just hit the right buttons in the first one but can't match it in the sequel.

The majority of films Simon Kinberg was a writer on have been poorly received. Using Rotten Tomatoes as a rough gauge to the critical reception of those films, he only has two "fresh" films as a writer (DoFP and Sherlock Holmes). The average score for the films he's been a credited writer on is a lousy 48%.

Michael B Jordan as Johnny makes me say "Yes, that works pretty damn well"

Everything else I've read just makes me say: "Oh....'

The Fox lawyers that realized the deadline was almost up.
Pretty much.

Every interview just sounds so uninspired. Zero enthusiasm. They all just showed up to collect their paycheck and add to their resume.

Based on what?

Based on what?

Based on that I have loved the majority of movies he has written? Except "This Means War" and "The Last Stand." And his last comicbook outing (DOFP) is one of these best written comic films of all-time.imo

You loved Jumper and XxX State of the Union?! :oldrazz:

Like I said I'm not a fan of the comment there were other tropes he could of used to allude to the same conclusion. That Sue has been in the past a severely undervalued member of the team. She was the damsel, she was eye candy.

We know Sue won't be that in this film which we kinda knew before his comments. Judging from the small glimpse of the alternate trailer. She is going to be such a little badass. I'm actually more worried about how Reed is going to come off. Hopefully they can find a better way for stretching any limb in a fight.

I wouldn't worry too much about GOTG2, I get what your saying though, comedic sequels are extremely hard to pull off.

My condolences to the FF fans. :oldrazz:

BTW...if I am not mistaken whenever there are promotional images released for a movie, it means a trailer is around the corner too, right?

The first trailer just came out.

Although there should be at least one more. I would assume with one of the first summer blockbuster movies Fox puts out.

Yeah..... okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Just be sure to pay attention to how good is with other writers.

For example, David Goyer's writing for the TDKT was seen as excellent. But his work without the Nolans (Chris and Jonah) is some of the worst of the last 15 years. Especially as far as CBMs are concerned (Blade Trinity and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance).
