Sure, but this film has been surrounded by negativity even before the Trank rumors got started. Some of the negativity was simply grounded in "we want Marvel to get the rights back," a camp I don't fall into personally. But a lot of the negativity was founded in legitimate concerns, IMO: the alterations of important characters, bad character and costume designs, the seeming disinterest of the cast and crew in the source material, a tone that just doesn't seem to fit... I think I have every right to be negative about those things.
I respect Trank's interest in doing a Croenberg-style superhero film but that would better fit Chronicle 2 than Fantastic Four. Its odd to me that this film feels darker and more cheerless than the X-Men movies or even Nolan's Batman films. So far the only movie that seems to have gotten the FF vibe right is the Incredibles.
