Collin(director of JW) will work in Hollywood again but he learned from his experiences. Like Trank that being the director on big budget franchises is good for your career but not everything its cracked out to be. These guys are young and hungry chopping at the bits for anything. They get on these projects there they find out that studios really want far more control then they ever imagined and because they aren't Tarantino's or Spielberg's of the world. They often times get overuled or just rolled over in many decisions. It's a lot of money being thrown into these films so I understand it but the result too often is movies like JW and the Amazing Spinderman 2. Where everything is give and tug with the final result sometimes being quite messy like the ASM2 or near mindless popcorn flicks like JW. Not every movie needs deeper meanings but sometimes its nice to have them.

JW yes, was a popcorn flick, but i cant honestly think of a film that has ever woven in the nostalgia of its predecessor so easily, respectfully and flawlessly . Every reference fit the narritive and was so skillfully put together. Collin desserves a massive hunk of credit for that. He clearly loved the first jurassic park very very much

Okay, I followed Gabriel Gray and read through his tweets and I don't see anything indicating he saw the movie. I've also tried numerous searches and haven't found anything "ridiculously positive".

So tweets like this means he hasn't seen the film?

Anyone worried about #F4, don't be, it's going to surprise you I think.

G@BRIELGR@Y ‏@GBRIELGRY 16h
Hey @ojudge4, next time you wheel home experiments like that, try not to destroy your parents home. #F4 is great bro, well done. Good job.

Josh Trank is one to watch, it's unfortunate the public deriding he's recently undergone, none of which is his fault I might add.

G@BRIELGR@Y ‏@GBRIELGRY 16h
@KongBomb Yes, go in with open minds and judge for yourself, it really is quite epic, people wont expect it I don't think. It succeeds imo.

Oh and those who complained about Michael B Jordan's Human Torch will eat those words.

Note: Don't mind 16 hours ago, I copied these quotes from a private message I sent to somebody

Of course just because Gabriel Gray likes it doesn't mean you guys will like it. There will always be people who are disappointed. Heck this movie might even disappoint me. That's why I am even more curious of this film.

It didnt need to be oscar. Calibur... it was fun, and there's not so much you can do but poke fun at some aspects of a franchise thats been done to death.. this film was easily the best out of the sequels.

Regardless, it was a fun enjoyable movie. And i actually enjoyed it more then age of ultron even

Wow, nice. Thanks man.

I didn't watch the movie yet, but I am really looking forward to it.

I was feeling a little uncertain because of the rotten tomatoes rating but it looks like a fun ride as you guys are saying. The twitter reactions I have been reading is like 98% positive.

Why do they keep bringing up MBJ? Of all the complaints I've heard about this film, he's quite possibly the one I keep hearing the most positive buzz about. I've rarely heard any hate about him at all.

Its got 70% critics and 86% user thats pretty good imo

Yeah but check out Youtube comments. I really hate reading them but I couldn't resist reading them almost always.

I agree but the first Jurassic Park is like 93% rating. Of course no sequel can beat that. I was hoping it to be in the 80% range. Doesn't matter really. As long as it is enjoyable.

I loved Age of Ultron from start to finish and it got less than 80% rating.

Well none the less, his movie was the first movie to break a 500mil opening weekend ... no way in hell is he not going to have a hard time finding directing gigs...

And im pretty confident this may cement chris pratt as the new will smith

I am absolutely shocked and surprised and other words that mean surprised that there are some people here that will downplay a 500 million dollar opening weekend just to try and prop up Fant4stic in some vague way.

I'm not actually shocked and surprised.

Yeah and even the complaints people have are more about mbj's personal character not his acting ability... or Tranks decision to make the siblings different races.

No one is commenting on mbjs talent or skill

And that's exactly why those who complained will shut up after watching him as the Human Torch. lol

Yeah, i loved aou but i found jw alot more of a ride. It went above and beyond my expectations

Lol yeah its already happening... "jw was just ok, and treverow isnt even attached to a JW sequel" ummm regardless of your opinion or what treverow is or isnt attached to... he clearly just got a successful film and definitely cemented the fact he's not the director the one guy mentioned... and its clearly now Trank as the guy...

???? People wont shut up because no one is complaining about his talent... his talent doesnt change the fact this movie fails as a "fantastic four" movie.... this movie could be a fun well written movie and still be a crappy "fantastic four" film

... the director referred to months ago was obviously Trank. How the hell is it even up for debate at this point?

Beats me... and why they feel the need to try to put down Colin in the process of their denile is beyond me..

I am honestly dumbfounded by the trank loyalty over one mediocre film. Hes got quite a devoted fan base for some strange reason

Most likely on Netflix or cable tv but not in theaters.

No surprise there.

Sure. I was just talking about Human Torch specifically. Not everyone know who Michael B Jordan is by the way. It is too early for that.

People probably complained because he is black and they probably don't know who he is or how capable he is as an actor.

The argument could be made that it's a certain franchise about people born genetically different that has the loyal fanbase...

No surprise there.

I dislike him because he's kinda an arrogant prick... the whole "you'll see it anyway" mentality really turned me off from liking him or his work... which is a shame because i enjoyed him on Parenthood

Fair enough. But you understand the point I am making? I am not talking about whether the movie will fail or succeed. I am just talking about people who complained about the black Human Torch probably don't even know him. He is not a big actor at all.

Personally I think he is a good actor, but overrated by people who actually know him.

Its kind of a blanket statement.. i dont think his acting ability is going to change the way people see the casting choice. I dont think this is a heath ledger/joker situation

yes, We've heard next to nothing about a black human torch from fans and media on this production. If anything the little we have faced on the subject has been nothing but positive actually:o

I don't see how those comments are much different than what people around here say every day. They seem to be opinions based on things he's seen and heard . . . and all of us have seen and heard things.

He certainly seems to be implying he has more information than other people do, but I don't see anything about any screenings or what, specifically, his opinions are based on.

Read more posts... the comment was based as if people were complaining about his skill... it was bogus. No one blames mbj ir dislikes him for being cast in this film... its not a personal attack on him

Wait people are trying to downplay JW's numbers? And to prop up F4?

In the very beginning yes but over the past couple of months, I've honestly haven't heard that at all. There are so many other problems with this movie and promotion, that's the least of Fox's concerns.
