The suggestion that Fox should hire people to cheer for their film at Comic-Con is the most hilarious thing I've read in awhile. :funny:

And yet if it was a non-Pro member who suggested that Fox should pay people to cheer the Pros would say that it was a horrible thing to say by those who are just trying to make the film look bad.

I have to disagree...

We don't know if Thing can "$#*!" or not, we do however know for sure that he can't "pee".

LOL. From where I'm sitting it doesn't appear he can do either.

But have faith! I'm sure all will be explained in the film via expository dialogue.

Johnny: "How do you take a $#*!?"
Ben: "You're looking right at it kid!"

There's new three posters!

This is the one that I liked the most:

This one is my favorite of the bunch.

....

It's been awhile since I've wondered off onto these threads. Rather dark and grungy from what I can see. Perhaps we should all WATCH the film first before we make a FINAL verdict of calling it cow dung: if you don't like it after that, all the power for you to complain.

I could be wrong: I could walk into the theater, and walk out thinking it was a complete waste of time, but I would like to think any film with worth that verdict. Stay classy friends.

Why do people say this? It's so silly

THe whole reason for promo material is for people to judge a film.

It's not silly at all its rationality. Same principle as "don't judge a book by its cover"

Promotion isn't for people to judge the film it's to get people's attention of the movie.
The actual movie is what they give for judgement. Promo is bits and pieces not the whole product.

People can form opinions on the promo but to declare a concrete judgement of the final movie based on promo and not on the actual movie is pre-emptive and silly.

Only way to judge the movie whether it be to declare it awful or great is to view the movie and then make an informed judgement

Third is the best poster a far imo

Yes let's all be bullied into watching a film that appeals to us in no way whatsoever because poor wittle Fox.

The promotion for this movie has not, in the least, made me excited for this movie, made me think...hmmmm, yeah ok I'll give it a try, or oh hell why not, sure I'll go see the movie.

Therefore, it is not even going to get me to the point of judging it.

By that logic all of us should devote our entire lives spending our hard earned money to watch every film ever made. Because any film is worth that verdict! Stay classy.

Promo material is supposed to highlight the best and most attractive parts of a film. So far the promo material for this film has left me bored and ambivalent. No, I don't plan on seeing it to judge for myself, until maybe its on Netflix or something. I'm not going to pay just to see if the film is as dull as the promos indicate.

I think it's fair to say the promotion hasn't inspired as much excitement as the other CBMs promotion had this year.

If they weren't so silent early on I think that might've been different but while others were showing BTS stuff this held off until post-production to reveal things as the director wanted to wait to show it and in the current landscape that's unusual

If the preview for a movie was one full minute of a monkey pooping into his own hand, could you judge it then? At what point can someone say "that looks like garbage and I have no interest in seeing it"? When it's a movie you aren't looking forward to, I'm assuming?

I was looking at this and wondering: "Why does it look like his legs and body don't match up?"

CJdRwgIUEAAE6Jx.jpg

Then I remembered this poster. It looks like they put the body from this on a different set of legs:

He also looks like he needs to do some planks....

And Doom:
CJdRwgIUEAAE6Jx.jpg

There is so much wrong with this picture, it's kinda sad now.

Doom looks like he has grillz in his teeth, and still looks like a burnt up bag man.

The Thing looks like a special ed person, with obese people legs, elongated head, and 5 fingers. WTF is up with the 5 fingers, they couldn't even get that right.

MBJ and Teller have *****ey duck-faces that yearned to be punched.

Mara, eh no complaints, they finally found a different pose and picture of her to use on a poster.

Fail poster is fail

edit:

wait, this is who Domashev reminds me of

with grillz on his teeth

I swear Fox is trolling all of us! And I don't get what is with their obsession of not giving Doom his mask the right way. Does he have those same powers he had in the first film? There is no justification of him having his skin/mask like that.

Those posters are nice. Nothing special, they remind me of Divergent posters.

I've often seriously wondered if things could really be this bad by chance or if someone, somewhere is intentionally screwing with us.

It seems like they'd do at least a few things right by accident at some point if it was really just that they were incompetent and not intentionally giving us crap.

In that second pic, it looks like Thing is attacking the F3 from behind. My gawd, they seem to have Mara make the same face on all the pics of her.

It's not just unusual, it's a dangerous thing to do. I think they can afford to do something like that with X-Men or other popular and proven properties but it's a bad strategy with something like FF.

There was one point where I actually thought about seeing this in theaters but the more that we see of this film and the more coverage it gets, it seems to get worse and worse. I've never seen a major studio mess up promoting a film so badly before in my life. I thought they were going dark and gritty but it seems like a totally different film now that the release is a little over a month away. The tone has seemed to do a complete 180 from when the teaser first dropped.
