Soon we're gonna be told there were no reshoots. Just watch. Lol Somebody needs to post side by side comparison of Maras hair in the trailers. Can't do it cause I'm on my phone.

For reference, the shot on the right is the footage people are referring to when discussing the bad wig:

Real hair on the left for comparison of course.

Its just a different shade and lighting.:o

In darker lighting things become a lighter tint. Jeez, everyone knows that.

The "Doom is a hacker and blogger" thing wasn't so much rumor as it was a ridiculously overblown and ultimately wrong interpretation of what Kebell actually said when describing his character.

I was always in the minority that thought this movie looked pretty good. Until today. Until the wig. Good lord.

The "Doom is a hacker and blogger" thing wasn't so much rumor as it was a ridiculously overblown and ultimately wrong interpretation of what Kebell actually said when describing his character.

KEBBELL: He’s Victor Domashev, not Victor Von Doom in our story. And I’m sure I’ll be sent to jail for telling you that. The Doom in ours—I’m a programmer. Very anti-social programmer. And on blogging sites I’m “Doom”.

Straight from his goddamn mouth.

Any references to him being a hacker were probably hyperbole for comedic effect.

Because Domashev deserves to be mocked for using his blogging username in a real world, serious context.

Kate Mara looks completely unrecognizable with the wig.

Is it still true that The Thing can revert back to human form?

@Rae: I'm aware of what he said. I'm simply stating that the collective freak-out over what it meant was ridiculously overblown and ultimately wrong, as his recent comments make pretty clear (of course, the people who are bound and determined to write this movie off as a failure will be and have been quick to complain that he's trying to 'spin' things and 'backpedal').

I do feel bad for the fans looking forward to this because I am a DC fan so I know what it's like to have the films you are looking forward to nit picked and randomly attacked by certain fanbases. For that reason I do have mixed feelings even posting on this thread the way I do. I am careful how I voice my negative opinions though.

I have my biases like anybody else but I'd like to believe that I wouldn't ignore horrible behind the scenes stories, massive reshoots and a *****ebag director just because I am a DC fan.

Damn all these people rooting against this movie I'm really hoping it's good. I can see why people are hating on it tho.

ultimately wrong.

How do you know? Is his name still Victor Domashev? Is he still a programmer/computer scientist/whatever the ****? Does he still blog under the username Doom?

Not a single thing has been released to contradict any of that.

I suspect they may have changed that character in reshoots (after seeing the reactions to Victor "I CAN HAZ SUPERPOWERS?" Domashev), but that was 100% true at the time, no denying it.

Totally misread that first part of your comment. Commas are your friend.

@Rae: Nowhere in Kebbell's comments does he say that Doom blogs. All he says is that his username on blogging sites is Doom. There's a difference between having a username that is associated with a particular activity (browsing blogging sites) and actually being a blogger (the latter of course being what everybody and their dog assumed Kebbell was saying his character did even though he didn't actually say that and made it clear that he'd never actually said that with his most recent comments on the subject).

The Guard said:
Because not everyone handles things the way other people do, by just letting things speak for themselves. For instance, some fans haven't been able to "just shut up and let the film be what it is". They've felt the need to be hyperbolicly hateful about almost every element of it.

No.

We don't have to "shut up and let the film be what it is." And neither Josh Trank--or anyone else--gets to demand "new internet rules" of etiquette when the product is poorly received. He made choices with developing this film. And we're making choices in terms of how we react to his film.

Let me be very clear here: it has been the support of the fans that made this entire franchise successful enough from the 1960s to 2015 to even warrant film adaptations in the first damn place, Guard. It wasn't the general audience that carried FF over the decades. It wasn't FOX. And it certainly wasn't Trank's ass. It was us. You seem to be forgetting that.

Longtime comic-readers like C. Lee and myself were here from jump street. Some of us have invested hundreds--if not thousands of dollars--over decades of time to keep the FF comics in print. If you f*** our stuff up don't expect smiles, sunshine, rainbows and cakes. We're going to give you s***. It's the basic laws of cause and effect. If Josh Trank doesn't like it he log the f*** off. Or, better yet, make a damn decent Fantastic Four film.

The best thing I've seen from this movie is Tim Heidecker popping up in the trailer as Reed's dad.

I'm not even going to reply to this.

I'm just going to quote it, for posterity.

Because it is a work of art.

From what I understand, he asked to be in the film and Trank put him in.

Now if only a post-pubescent actor had asked to play Reed...
