That just seems like a lie with the embargo still up.

Most cineworld screenings are starting in 3 minutes. Should expect reactions in a couple of hours.

It's screening at the moment I believe

They've done no such thing.

I love ya cyclops.. I really do wish i could be that gullible. (not a diss, i swear, just sincerely wish i saw the world in more rose colored glasses these days)

They've done no such thing.

I and others have explained it.....

The general audience don't recognize the difference between MARVEL (the company's characters) and MCU (Marvel/Disney company connected set of movies).

FOX is taking advantage of them not knowing the difference and playing up the MARVEL (characters) logo.

Some people are upset about this.....but as for me, I say it is only the standard operating procedures of all studios that has been going on for decades. The studios have repeatedly done things to fool the audience into coming to see their movies. It is nothing to get upset over....and it is something that shouldn't be denied. It happens all the time.

It's a smart business move, but to say they are "doing no such thing" is completely ignorant on the subject as to how business works.

This is a smart business move, the critics embargo is a smart business move, the embargo on Fantastic Four and X-men merch at marvel is a smart business move... but are they shady and kinda immoral? you betcha

It happens all the time. Heck, there is a whole Mockbuster industry.

All of Fox's superhero movies had the Marvel logo in the trailer, why is this suddenly a problem here?

Snakes on a Train was a thing. Someone actually put out a movie called Snakes on a Train trying to fool people into thinking it was connected to Snakes on a Plane.

This is one of the most shameless industries you'll ever see.

It would be beyond dumb not to use the Marvel logo, that's what the license is for (comes with the characters, etc).

It would be great if we could have a generic Marvel logo, and a MCU Marvel logo

I know right. There is no problem at all. Pretty bizarre complaint.

I did see the most recent commercial where the Fox logo is completely absent and Marvel is the only one they show, lol. I was like, you sneaky petes. :o

They already use two separate logos. The licensed Marvel films use the generic Marvel logo and the MCU films now use a new "Marvel Studios" logo.

And.....as has been said before.....just because we who spend our lives here on the HYPE know the difference.....the general audience does not.

im specifically talking TV... in which FOX seems to not be showcasing their own studio logo heavily AT ALL... but the Marvel one is in your face and the first one you see...

TV clips are also what people genuinely see more than trailers.

... the only difference between "branded red logos" is one says "studios" the other doesn't... that's literally the only visual difference.

But Fox have not misled audiences at all. They've been using the Marvel (characters) logo for 15 years, long before there was a Marvel Studios Brand. It's not a new development done to trick audiences it's just standard to have the logo, a tradition at this point.

Audiences may not realise the difference but that is completely on them and not on Fox.

They haven't used or referenced any Marvel studios logos or characters, haven't said anywhere it's connected or involved with those movies, haven't put any of those movies titles on their posters ect...

They've done absolutely nothing to "take advantage" of the MCUs existence.

Cyke, you're not comprehending our posts... the movie trailers have both logos.. FOX and their epic 20th century fox logo... the TV clips.. do not have that.. they all seem to open with the red MARVEL logo, play the clips, and finally in the last shot with the credits (and not very noticeable) it will say FOX.

usually studios put their own studio logo up front, not the company the characters are based on...

that indicates that FOX is marketing this heavily based on the notion of the marvel brand...

i wouldn't be saying a thing if the TV spots had the FOX studio logo with the marvel logo.. but it's not in the tv spots. it's completely absent.

But Fox have not misled audiences at all, which is the implication.

Have you actually read anything I have posted on this today? Have you read what I have actually written? Are you being seriously this naïve or are you trolling?

Studios know that the general audiences are "unaware" of all kinds of things and take advantage of that "unawareness". They do not have to reference the MCU directly....because the audience does not get the difference between the two logos. They do not have to put MCU characters on their posters...the general audience sees the word MARVEL and they think it is the MCU....it's that damn simple.

I am not trolling at all. I'm fully aware that audiences may not differentiate the difference but that isn't the point, the point is you and others are accusing the studio of misleading the audience by using the Marvel logo.

They flat out aren't as they used that logo for 15 years. Nothing has changed on their end. The logo was on the Fantastic Four movies from the last decade same as this, no difference in their marketing of that logo.

Using the logo isn't new. It's not a strategic thing, it's a tradition and that's all.

Seems you and other think Fox should stop using the logo they have full right to use and have a long history of use just because marvel joined them in making Marvel movies and audiences possibly fail to differentiate even though Marvel made their own and different logo

I'll leave this topic at that and move on as I've made my point

It would be great if we could have a generic Marvel logo, and a MCU Marvel logo

We do...

id like to add to that, the reason it was never an issue before... is because there was not a cohesive Marvel Studios or Marvel Cinematic universe before... and this is the first Non marvel property rebooted since Marvel Studios was formed.

Well.. i correct that. Amazing Spidey was the first.. and like with this film.. so many asked and confused it at first with being part of the MCU too.. (and it actually almost was)

no one bothered with the X-men franchise since it was all in the same established continuity.. and anything post Marvel Studios obviously didnt matter.

please READ my posts.. both on this page.. they should ACCURATELY explain this simple concept to you
