In case anybody misses it on the other thread, here's a review that pretty much tells the whole story and also confirms a lot of the bad things we've been hearing seem to be true.

If you're looking forward to the film and don't want it spoiled, don't read. If you just want to satisfy yourself that this will bomb badly, this will make you feel pretty good.

It's just sort of a bummer to me.

Spoiler-free conclusion:
Anyway, to cut it short, I know it's too late to say that, I didn't enjoy this movie much. In the many Marvel movies that have come since the first two Fantastic Four movies sure there were some lemons but I can't remember one being this bad or leaving me thinking that this is the worst that's ever been made. I can only comfortably give this movie a 2.5 out of 5. It's got a meandering story that never leads to a satisfying climax and for a superhero movie to have action scenes this disappointing was a huge surprise. Kids playing with action figures could probably come up with a more entertaining fight scene. Also I wasn't the only one that felt that way. At the I could hear the others murmuring and talking. Some were entertained but some were disappointed.

On the spoiler front: [BLACKOUT]A year transpires during the movie?![/BLACKOUT]

I am not trolling at all. I'm fully aware that audiences may not differentiate the difference but that isn't the point, the point is you and others are accusing the studio of misleading the audience by using the Marvel logo.

They flat out aren't as they used that logo for 15 years. Nothing has changed on their end. The logo was on the Fantastic Four movies from the last decade same as this, no difference in their marketing of that logo.

Using the logo isn't new. It's not a strategic thing, it's a tradition and that's all.

Seems you and other think Fox should stop using the logo they have full right to use and have a long history of use just because marvel joined them in making Marvel movies and audiences possibly fail to differentiate even though Marvel made their own and different logo

I'll leave this topic at that and move on as I've made my point
You are not listening to a word I have said.

I have not said their practices are wrong or are something to complain about....I have repeatedly said that ALL studios do stuff like this and that it is standard practices for ALL studios for decades. Studios fake people out all the time.

I and other are pointing out that...YES, the FOX studios have used the MARVEL logo for 15 plus years....but they are doing it differently this time.

Read what some of us are actually writing instead if jumping to conclusions.

Yep. Just sounds absolutely awful in every imaginable way, but it explains every clip we've seen including some that have gone unexplained until now (the second mission for example).

It also matches a lot of other things from very negative reviews. I think the dam's about to break and it's going to be UGLY.:csad:

Fox really sucks. They just had to completely screw up not one, not two, but three FF films, and this sounds worse than the previous two.

But Fox have not misled audiences at all. They've been using the Marvel (characters) logo for 15 years, long before there was a Marvel Studios Brand. It's not a new development done to trick audiences it's just standard to have the logo, a tradition at this point.

Audiences may not realise the difference but that is completely on them and not on Fox.

They haven't used or referenced any Marvel studios logos or characters, haven't said anywhere it's connected or involved with those movies, haven't put any of those movies titles on their posters ect...

They've done absolutely nothing to "take advantage" of the MCUs existence.

The MARVEL logo has been used by EVERY Marvel movies since 2002 Spider-Man. Sony, Universal, Fox, New Line Cinema and Lionsgate ALL used it.

Only three Marvel films were released without that logo: X-Men, Blade and Blade II.

It wasn't until Iron Man that they created the MARVEL Studios logo.

And I'm pretty sure the other studios have to use the MARVEL logo as part of their contractual agreement (I'm pretty sure it has to do with Marvel getting a % of the films).

But if you notice, in the recent ASM films, they were able to use the MARVEL logo with the white rectangle around it (closer to the MS logo). While Fox can only the MARVEL. Just something I've noticed.

The Roger Corman one counts I say. So this would be #4

I don't recall any previous non-Marvel Studios Marvel films releasing promotional material with ONLY the Marvel logo and not the studio's.

That I've not seen that either. I've always seen the Studio logo with the Marvel logo

All the TV spots I've seen have had FOX logo, then MARVEL logo

And.....as has been said before.....just because we who spend our lives here on the HYPE know the difference.....the general audience does not.

... the only difference between "branded red logos" is one says "studios" the other doesn't... that's literally the only visual difference.

...uhm, okay? I'm not sure what argument I just posted in the middle of but I was just simply replying back to the guys comment on their being two logos.

French's reaction after the premier in the comments:
From Wesley:

.
From Ron:
Je rejoins ton avis. Sans spoiler, je trouve que le film met trop de temps à démarrer et la fin est bâclée. Bref je suis moins déçu que je ne pensais l’être mais je reste quand même déçu. Et dire qu’un FF2 est annoncé…

Quote from the above review:

But of course Victor isn't too thrilled that someone could be smarter than him but he agrees to return only because he still has a thing for Susan.

Honestly, the way he describes the storytelling of the movie? I have not problem with it all. Seems interesting to me, although I know 616 fans will have issues. lol Also, some of the questions he even asks like:

Why don't need the containment suits when they go back to Planet Zero? Can be answered by what he described earlier that they were affected by the energy from Planet Zero to gain their powers, so logically they can exist there without suits.

I took French in high school. That's all gibberish to me :oldrazz:

It was introduced with IM1. But it evolved to the MARVEL Studios with the white rectangle around The Avengers I believe.

Had a quick Google.... This came up.

Kevin Feige said:
We designed the very first Marvel logo for the first Spider-Man film," he recalled. "We've used that logo for eleven years, and with Thor: The Dark World, it felt like a good time to update it because this is the very first film that only has the Marvel logo in front of it.

I think the first X-Men might have had a bluish-Grey Marvel logo

I think the first X-Men might have had a bluish-Grey Marvel logo

I wish it did. But I just watched X1 recently and no MARVEL logo :(.

But...every X-Men film from X2 onward had the MARVEL logo

Google translate is being a pain for me. Can I get some quotes?
Here:
Olalalalla UNE CATASTROPHE !!!!!!!!!!

Spoiler about Doom's name:

R.V. ‏@Harvey_z 7m7 minutes ago
#Fantasticfour Doom kept his comic book full name Victor Von Doom from Latveria. He's still a hacker with a nihilist edge.
