I say bring back chiklis for voice work only. Thing should sound like his iconic self, and mike did a good job with that. Benji should sound different as thing anyway. Just accent should be the same

I didnt know that The Thing had a specific "iconic" sound.

Chicklis sounded like Chicklis to me even after he became the Thing. Just a bit raspier and gruffer and deeper.

Or not make Ben pre-accident into a pansy and before anyone says its on par with UFF- Arad off!! I may not have read it but I for damn sure know Ult. Ben was similar to his 616 counterpart unlike whoever the hell Bell portrayed

Ultimate Ben was a big, strong guy. This Ben is a child abuse victim, like the main character in Chronicle.

It was the worst kind of reboot for me. Unfocused, uninspired and aesthetically "cheap" especially with Reed/Johnny/Thing's powers. Not to mention the interdimentional stuff. If you're gonna do a Negative Zone on film it needs to look like something bizarre, not just a stereotypical barren sci-fi planet. The casting was way off base across the board. I actually would have preferred Jordan to play Reed and Teller to play Johnny, it would have fit their personalities more fluidly. There was no commitment to any theme. No boundary pushing. The whole story was just one played out trope after another. And icing on the cake: Sue felt like a secondary character. I'd gladly rewatch the Roger Corman flick before sitting through this tedious mess again. At least that was is so bad it's fun to laugh at.

And just an FYI I don't hate the first Fox FF movie. As a straight up kid's flick it's enjoyable. I know my cousins, nieces and friend's kids loved the hell out of it when they were younger (- 10 yrs old). And in hindsight it's actually so much more faithful to the source material in terms of tone, characters and story structure than this new one. Sadly I don't see Marvel getting FF back any time soon.

You forgot Elektra.

And would that one guy stop saying "Fox "owns" Fantastic Four."
They own NOTHING!
They lease FF from Marvel as long as they keep making movies.
They cannot use a cameos by FF in X-Men movies to retain rights and yes, they have to invest "X" amount of money into any FF movie.
They would not be allowed to make a $20 million drama FF movie where they sit around talking and use their powers to light candles, reach accross the room to get a slice pizza or move heavy furniture.
There ARE rules in the lease besides " movie every 7 years"
They will........

1. Keep it out of spite till 2022 & let it revert.
2. Make a deal with Marvel
3. Try again in 5 years doing it right ( or wrong) again.

Fox owns the film rights to the Fantastic Four.

X-Men writer Chris Claremont recently appeared on the Nerdist podcast, where he mentioned how the title is now “forbidden to create new characters… all because all new characters become the film property of Fox.” That edict also apparently extends to X-Men merchandising—“because why promote Fox material?”—and even more spitefully, it apparently means an end to the Fantastic Four comic book.

The current Fantastic Four characters are the property of Fox until they either sale, trade or allow them to go back to Marvel.

Fox's official Youtube channel replaced Fantastic Four with Deadpool at the top banner. They decided to put a film coming out 6 months over the film they have market this coming week. Yeah, they've given up on this thing.

Just like the vast majority of human beings.

Man this sucks I was really pulling for this movie to be good but it's a turd. Thank god for that Deadpool trailer.

I can't believe Fox doinked up the Fantastic Four for the THIRD FREAKING TIME.

I feel sorry for fans and the cast.

Last year, if you would have told me that Ant-Man turned out good in spite of its own production troubles and F4 turned out so bad it has like 17% on RT, I wouldn't have believed it. And yet both turned out true. I knew this was going to be doinky but THIS doinky...

It's obvious that Fox has never cared about this property at all. After this inevitably flops, please Fox, pull a Ghost Rider and sell the rights back to Marvel. No one is going to want to see another F4 movie from you ever again. You can keep the X-Men, it's obvious you care way more about that franchise anyway, but please, sell the F4 rights back to Marvel. They are perfect for the MCU.

Dirty :funny:

F4 for phase4. Fourth times the charm.

I hear ya. Disney could buy the rights just in time for Phase 4. The need a new star because Iron Man, Cap and Thor have ended their trilogies.

I can see Disney going the extra mile to buy the rights back before further damage is done to property. (Not that the damage is not done.)

I was all about Timberlake as Johnny, but now he is too old IF in this hypothetical Marvel would highlight the Johnny-Peter dynamic.
That's what I've been thinking as well. If Marvel had Fantastic Four, I'd see Reed as part of the science bros, and Johnny be highlighted as the immature kid of the group. Whoever they get is going to be around Holland's age, not 30.

We should start a Twitter campaign. #SaveF4Kevin or something like that.

Just tweet #SaveF4, while tagging @Kevfeige, and @Disney, and @Marvel. More people will be sure to see it, and word will spread fast.

If anybody here sees or creates any good tweets, post them and I'll retweet them.

I don't know much about Twitter or composing Tweets, but I've got a few thousand followers.

I'm finding it really annoying that some reviewers are questioning if FF can be made into a good film. Of COURSE it can be made into a great film. Fox just made piss-poor decisions at every turn and made a film that isn't even close to what a Fantastic Four film should be.

I hope Marvel can get the rights and when they do, I hope they don't shy away after the previous crap films, but rather I hope they see it as a challenge and show how good an FF film done right can be.

I guess Fox loyalists are doing the same on these boards. They disappeared. XD
