Daaaammmn...it's like a hornet's nest went OFF in here. Stingers are OUT.
You guys and gals should ease up a bit on X-Maniac--he's just stating his perception of things like the rest of us. I'm sure no harm or foul to us as a board was intended.
So Kevin Feige has earned independence from the penny-pinching Ike Perlmutter and has even more control over Marvel Studios over at Disney now.
Does that increase the probability of a deal with Fox happening? I should hope so.

What's the story on that? That would be smart move on Disney's part. I had heard the opposite.
I think I may have over-reacted partly because we've had two years of people with 'X-Men' based user-names and avatars popping in here and posting complete nonsense such as "it's all about race" or "you wouldn't be complaining about these things if it was Marvel" instead of addressing the real concerns and issues we've been seeing and discussing. X-Maniac probably got more than his/her share of frustration that has built up related to a large class of Hype posters who seem to see insults to Trank and company as insults to the X-men.
I talked about perceptions on forums and social media in my original post, then you ranted on about the perceptions in this section of SHH. I was talking primarily about stuff in my Facebook feed, and in comic book forums on Facebook, and mostly what I read in the comments rather than the articles that were posted. The comic book fans on Facebook did seem to zoom in on the black Torch casting and not really mention much else.
This section of SHH became such a cesspool of hatred and negativity that many people stayed away so I am not aware of all the discussion that went on in here.
But it's quite clear that you all seem to gang up on anyone who doesn't spew bile and trash the movie in some sort of crazy temper tantrum.
People are entitled to like the movie, defend the movie, and (as I did) present some other perceptions and thoughts. People in here are DESPERATE for Fox to pull the movie from cinemas, they are utterly and totally desperate for that to happen. I added in the more realistic view that Fox would milk the movie for all it was worth, leaving it in cinemas as long as they can to try to get back as much budget as possible, and then I was attacked over saying that. I mentioned that Ant-Man had finished at my nearest cinema and someone went berserk over that as though that somehow amounted to support for the F4. WTF?!
You all need to stop being so hateful towards those who offer a different - and probably far more realistic - perspective. This pitchfork mentality is ridiculous.
This is just a geek bubble at the end of the day. Real life is going on unchanged.

A deal between Fox and Marvel isn't looking any more likely if you ask me. Fox is the problem, a shake-up at Disney won't change their pettiness. They've turned down offers from Marvel out of spite before, I have no doubt they'd do it again.
You also argued that no one knew how the movie would turn out before we saw it. That is demonstrably incorrect.
And, again, who here was arguing that Fox wasn't going to milk it for all it was worth? Where's the desperation you speak of?
I'm glad you posted this because I was afraid that I had over-reacted initially.
But now I see that you really do have nothing to say and aren't worth my time.
Well, it is true that no one KNEW how the movie would turn out.
In here, you all stacked up the various bits of info and rumours and decided it was almost certainly going to be a stinker, and that's fair enough. Judgments were made. But no one KNEW for sure.
For those who feel vindicated that their assessment was the right one, that's great. No one is knocking that.
But not everyone felt the same.
Let's just hope Fox and the F4 team learn a lesson.
Garfield is also saying he wanted the films to be in the MCU. Kebbell already said he wanted to fight Thor. Even the actors understand Marvel's characters are intended to coexist...
So Kevin Feige has earned independence from the penny-pinching Ike Perlmutter and has even more control over Marvel Studios over at Disney now.

This really does make me sad, that Garfield will miss out playing Spidey with Marvel Studios, and yet, he was part of the franchise directly responsible in bringing Spidey home. Kebbell is a talented actor who seemed to be super jazzed about Doom and what Doom's role in the greater Marvel Universe should've been. And both of them were screwed over big time, by creative decisions/studio mishaps/etc.
I still cannot believe Fox managed to give us a worse FF movie than the duology. And that Chris Evans is the definitive Johnny Storm. Damn.
Several things worry me about the film: Trank lied SEVERAL times about the production/casting, Completely mixed messages from Fox/Kinberg (one minute it's connected to X Men, next it's not. Millar brought on board to help out, now it's Kinberg's job.), Jordan basically admitting that their making it up as they go along Cheap cast, Trank deleting his twitter, Shoestring budget, Little to ZERO on location shooting, The movie obviously being made with the sole purpose of keeping the rights (a la TASM). Not to mention Fox keeping the movie far as **** away from the X Men franchise the moment it became successful again (originally they dangled the crossover thing frequently, in an attempt to get Avengers buzz). ZERO presence at either of the last comic cons. No 'official' synopsis. Not even a logo.
All of that^^ doesn't inspire any confidence at all. Not to mention that they won't even be called the Fantastic Four in the film. Not having even name the team is such weak and cowardly ******** to say the least.
Then it was all down hill from there. So to say nobody knew? We all knew, some won't admit it of course but we knew that this was gonna suck. I probably Missed a few other red flags from this train wreck but yeah, I'll speak for myself and the FF fans. WE SAW THIS COMING.You did overreact somewhat. Put down the pitchfork and try to be a bit more realistic.
Perhaps when you get a shocking personal tragedy / family bereavement to deal with, as I have, it will also realign your warped perspective and stop you from unfairly targeting anyone who doesn't follow your exact way of thinking. Here's hoping.
