If they were to use what they have already written, they could have Paul Walker's character run off with Mia and their new born child. Mia got kidnapped in Fast 6, and since Jason Statham is out for revenge, they can have a scene explaining that Brian can't risk that happening again, so he ran off with his family.
I think that's the best thing to do. Maybe have one scene where Toretto is talking to Brian on the phone and Brian says that he'll have to sit this battle out because of his family. It seems like Statham's character is more concerned with Toretto anyway so this could be more his show.
After all the effort they put in these movies about making Brian and Dom "brothers" no matter the obstacle, that would severely be out of character for him. He's been the backbone of the entire series and I'd hope his character gets a better send off than that.
I think it would be in bad taste to kill off Walker's character in a car crash, not just in bad taste, absolutely disgusting.
While the tragedy of Paul Walker's sudden death in a car accident is still being felt, the show must go on - that includes the production of the seventh "Fast and Furious" film at Universal Pictures.
Shooting had been underway in Atlanta but was on hiatus for the Thanksgiving holiday and was scheduled to start again today (Sunday). That plan is now on hold until tomorrow or Tuesday at the earliest as the death has left the cast and crew devastated.
Director James Wan and Universal executives reportedly held a conference call Sunday morning where discussion was made about necessary rewrites and how to proceed in a manner respectful to Walker's death.
While much of the film had already been shot, Walker and the cast were scheduled to travel to Abu Dhabi in January to film additional scenes.
The production had been rushing to meet next year's July 11th release date, so any delay could well impact that date. For now though, Universal is not commenting on their plans for the film.
Walker had two other completed films on the way - the Hurricane Katrina drama "Hours" opening this month, and the "District B13" remake "Brick Mansions" which is currently in post-production.
I agree, put your damn phones away for one second while the man grieves.
I'd be okay with that.Don't kill his character off say Brian and Mia wanted life away from all this for their family so they went off the grid changed names etc.
