Fast & Furious 7 - Part 1

Not sure how much of the movie they've already shot, but if they are almost there already, I imagine they could use the Mia character more to fill in some of the gaps in terms of exposition, so they don't have to do silly things like CGI-face or have major plot developments occur off-screen.

Personally I doubt they will go to these lengths. Very likely they will either rewrite it and the movie will really suffer (besides us already losing Paul). Or they will cancel it. I did read the movie was postponed indefinitely.

Production has halted for now, but remember they have to figure out where to go and what rewrites are needed. They just can't rewrite a few scenes in a day and get going again. Everyone involved in this movie, from the studio heads to James Wan, need time to process and grieve first.

Oh I know that just pointing out that original reports were instead of starting Sunday, they might start filming on Tuesday. Now obviously they will take the time to decide what's going to happen.

Also I read some more news regarding the accident, some conspiracies and also some actual news from the investigation. Should I keep updating the topic? I don't know if this might seem insensitive to some. Let me know.

My opinion is that news, valid news on the movie and its future is safe to post. Posting conspiracy theories and rumors are probably best left out. At a time like this it's best not to cloud the discussion with unfounded rumors and claims no one can verify.

Well there is no way it'd ever be scrapped, that's waay too much money lost. It'll be hard for them to rewrite it and hopefully it won't hurt the final product too much.

Police officals have come out and said that at this point they consider speed was a factor. That being said they still don't know for sure why he lost control. Also they hit a pole and a tree.

And worst of all, the drivers kid saw the burning car. One of the last men Walker spoke to before getting in the car said he saw the kid running for the car but couldn't get to him in time. I can only imagine the psychological damage that was done to the poor kid seeing the car burning knowing hsi dad was in there.:(

This wouldn't be the first movie to use a body double/CG cover to replace an actor who dies in mid-production like this. The Crow is the most notable example I can think of.

On the last page it says something about mechanical failure? Maybe that's not official?

No matter how the rewrite it or edit it, Fast 7 will always be tainted in my eyes. Sure I'm still going the support the film but the fun goofy carefree feelings I had for the franchise are over.

There was a claim made by the mechanics (supposedly) that they found steering fluid leaking right before the part he lost control. That's not official and something I hesitate to bring up but since it's already mentioned...

The exotic sports car in which Paul Walker violently died, crashed as a result of mechanical failure -- very possibly a steering fluid leak ... this according to sources closely tied to the auto shop where the vehicle was stored and maintained.

Sources connected to Always Evolving -- the shop co-owned by Walker and the Porsche driver Roger Rodas -- tell TMZ they saw evidence of a fluid burst and subsequent fluid trail before the skid marks at the accident scene.

The AE sources point to the fact there is a noticeable absence of skid marks until just before the point of impact. They say if Roger had lost control the skid marks would show swerving, but instead the marks were in a straight line. They feel this cements the theory the driver didn't have steering control.

Also suspicious -- the fire spreading so quickly in the front of the car. The sources say flames would be expected in the rear where the engine is ... but fire in the front reinforces their theory of a fluid leak of some sort.

We're told the $500,000 Carrera GT was NOT modified and was driven rarely so they believe any failure must be a factory defect.

As one source put it ... "Roger was a world class driver" -- and while he might have been speeding (as cops have said) ... the notion he just lost control is preposterous.

For what it's worth, I watched Furious 6 last night and while it was quiate awkward to begin with, the smile very quickly returned to my face.

There might be a second car involved. It is being investigated at the moment.

Also regarding the mechanical issue, I saw the same article which was on TMZ's site (not the most reputable source).

I also saw earlier the security footage of the crash on YT, really strange to say the least.

I think it's just too fresh to me right now. I might not feel exactly the way I'm feeling in the future.

I see it as the opposite. It just develops more interest and more meaning for the film in my eyes.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the box office.

Wow. Just saw the leaked Han's funeral scene for FF7. I wonder if they will include the following line now that this happens, and if they do how will the audiences feel once they heard it:

"Promise me, Brian, no more funerals,” - Roman Pearce.
It was even said by Tyrese's character :csad:

I forgot about that line. It's really unfortunate that they decided to release that scene as a first glimpse to the new movie. Now I'm even more sad.

Edit: Seems there really was a problem with the car and that was the only reason they took that drive.

"As they were backing up the Carrera to put into the garage, it started stalling. I heard someone say, and I think it was Roger (Rodas, who reportedly was behind the wheel), ‘Why is the car stalling? Let’s take it around the block,' " the source tells THR. "Paul said, 'Let me go with you really quickly.' "

im still in shock over his death.

as for the movie i don't know how it will be handled. in photos we've seen, it looks like Brian teamed up with hobbs. perhaps the storyline could entail (should they kill off his character, for all we know it's possible, and could've been planned) that he goes out as a hero, protecting family, which is one of the main themes of these films, and as a result, help Toretto and all their friends/fam get their citizenship back and exonerated so they can go home

he definitely won't be going out as a buster :(

was FF7 the last or was there a plan to do FF8?

They were building the franchise to go to 9... Lucas Black and Kurt Russell role in this film is said to be small as both are just introduced in this film as there roles would be larger in 8.

Vin also stated that Universal was even thinking about 10, and there was talk of possibly a Hobbs spinoff.

They already got their citizenship back in the last movie. He should go out saving Hobbs. I imagine they are re-writing it not include the Dubai scene anymore.

They definitely aren't cancelling the movie based on the article below.

It's going to continue because it's Universal's only franchise film.

If they can find a clever way to transition it from Paul's character to another character in the next one they might be able to keep the franchise going. Don't forget also the rest of the cast as well, they might turn it down. If that happens then it will end up like it did after 2F2F.

PS: It was confirmed by Paul's team that his daughter is not using social media. Whoever is posing as her is a sick bastard. Also she was not with him at the fundraiser thank goodness.
