Also Keanu has a history with drag racing. I'm referring to the Paula Abdul music video lol. I'd love to see Keanu join this series. Another name is Will Smith. He's friends with Vin , Tyrese , and the late Paul Walker as evident by party pics they put up on Twitter. Either Will or Keanu would be good to see

Rush! Rush! lol

Man, I had such a thing for Paula Abdul back in the day. She was so hot before she turned into the perpetually stoned Valium addict she was on American Idol.

Kurt Russell was good but Denzel would've been so much better and compelling...Does anyone know why Denzel turned it down? Was it because of money?

Reportedly he turned it down cause he just wasn't feeling it, I don't think he feels the Fast and Furious movies are for him.

Ive been thinking about where a sequel could go. Myabe they could kind of do some kind of mentor thing where Vin Disel kinda shows a younger person the ropes in...doing what he does or something. IDK I think that'll fit with the whole family thing and I think it'll be something to do besides the main plot. They could use Lucas Black since I guess technically his character is still in high school or at the most early 20s or they could just get someone new which I think would be the best option

Haha yeah that really was the most ridiculous thing ever. And it's made even more hilarious with that little dialogue exchange between the two of them right after, when she says something like, "How did you know that car would be there to break our fall?" and he's like "Sometimes you just gotta take a leap of faith."

GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAANNNNNNNN

oh man I just looked up the tank chase scene from one of the previous films where Vin saves Michelle.
I had no idea the series had gone that ridiculous!

Yeah there's good ridiculous, which this series revels in, and then there's bad ridiculous which is what that jump scene was for me.

Disel's dialogue always seemed like he was just reading taglines from a movie, but my least favorite on was "The thing about street fights...the street always wins"

Denzel doesn't do sequels or franchises...he does a role once and is on to something new. I don't think he disliked the franchise or the money, just goes against his work preference.
Which is weird to me because he claims to have signed on for the Equalizer 2, but like you said it doesn't seem like he does franchises.

Still hoping he plays T'Chaka in Black Panther

Which s cool.

The weird thing is as many action movies as he's starred in (Safe House, Equalizer, Out of Time, Man on Fire, Ricochet, Book of Eli, Unstoppable, Deja Vu) I still don't see him as an action star

Maybe a terrorist cell hits NYC and Kurt Russell uses Statham to bring them in. Only thing is Statham refuses to work unless they enlist Dom and the crew to work with him. This time it makes sense for the crew getting involved again and you got Shaw and Toretto tension, although I really don't want Statham to return. His introduction honestly is what I felt forced this movie to go even way over the top because of the roles Jason's had in the past. Him returning for a part 8 just means we're gonna have him jumping from rooftop to rooftop like Batman while outrunning a car...a car that will also be driving form rooftop to rooftop.

They need to find a way to actually make it work for cars to be involved, too. It just seems like every villain they go up against is into cars or has some suped up vehicle when they could have used something else. It made sense cars were always around before because of the street racing. Fast 5 made sense cause they were getting away in cars. But part 7 didn't really need to have God's Eye installed in a car. Who would put that in an expensive ass whip?

Oh yeah! If you hadn't realized that Dom is beyond human, now you know haha.

That's what I want as well. Mr Nobody, Dom, Deckard, Hobbs forced to work together to bring down terrorists in NYC. And I want it to be more grounded, darker, less CGI action scenes.

But why would Deckard...you know what? It doesn't matter. It doesn't even need to happen. I would watch that.

However I don't see them teaming up with Deckard after almost he killed most of the team.

At this point, it IS the only thing they haven't really done. Gisele was never an outright villain, so her joining Dom's crew never seemed that dramatic. But Dom, Hobbs, and Nodody having to team up with Shaw? That could be interesting. You have to figure at this point, in the back of Deckard's mind, he may have some respect for Dom, having bested him where others failed. To think that a mere street racer could bring him down, with all his special forces skills and training, he has to have SOME admiration for Dom as a fellow warrior.

He knows how to take down the terrorists. Maybe he has a past with those guys.

Nah, I say cast Statham in a dual role as Deckard's long lost twin brother, Frank. After leaving the British special forces via faking his own death or something, Frank changed his last name to Martin and has been hiding out in France, working as a transporter of illegal merchandise who occasionally saves the world and stuff. Deckard escapes prison, so Mr. Nobody approaches Frank and asks him to apprehend his brother. Frank has the exact same personality as Deckard, only he isn't evil.

Didn't know this but apparently Lucas BLack is signed on for 2 more sequels. Whether he'll be used idk

Im not doubting that, Deckard would not want to team up

Im just thinking as much as Dom goes on about family and the Shaw family killing 2 of his family, almost killing his brother in law, his sister, and his niece. As well as kidnapping his sister and Awell as banging his amnesiac wife.
I just cant see Dom doing it even to stop terrorist.

But as I said It doesn't really matter. I'll be on board with it, I think everyone will be on board with it, and everyone will be glad to see Statham who, to be honest, was kind of underused.

It would be so funny if they did release Shaw, all in the name of stopping a terrorist, given that he IS a terrorist in his own right. But I could see it happening, given that this franchise doesn't really pay attention to details all that often.

All that does is create tension and drama, which is . . . . a good thing from a storytelling perspective. There have been plenty of stories in film in television where a hero has had to team up with a villain that has caused them immeasurable pain, and their interactions when they're forced to work together can be immensely satisfying for viewers. There would be that initial period where Dom is vehemently against it, and it's certainly justifiable. But at a certain point, it'll become clear that he'll have no choice.

Im trying to think who would be a good villain to use.
Bruce Willis if he doesn't sleep walk through it
Wesley Snipes...
Stallone wouldn't be bad either.

I want them to use an older action star

It's still stupid to me but as I said, it doesn't really matter.

It's also not an "actor" series. The acting isn't exactly up to that caliber. Denzel is way beyond anyone in the cast in that regard. The role I'm sure simply wasn't juicy enough for him to be challenged.

Snipes would be a good villain. Or Antonio Banderas. He was the ONE good thing about Expendables 3.

100pct agreed. Although I dont know what would be better, if Deckard will go bad in the climax and betray Dom, or actually redeem himself in the end.

Probably a happy medium between the two. If it were a situation where she would have to be incarcerated after helping Dom and the gang, he could find an opportunity to escape, promising to Dom that he won't come after him again, especially if you included in this possible storyline a plot point of [BLACKOUT]Owen Shaw waking from his coma. [/BLACKOUT]

Deckered killed Han. No way they are teaming up with that dude. The Shaws are villains plain and simple.

KenK has explained why some of us like the idea:

That car driving by him? That's all the money fame he could have had.

Ja Rule should have been thanking his lucky stars that he was getting ANY movie offers, given that he talks like a throat cancer patient with a mouthful of food.

I think the way Furious 7 ended with Statham's character, they left it open on purpose to bring him back. If they will or if they wont is the question, but when you have a villain like Statham who is arguably the most memorable villain of the franchise, and one of those actors that lures in people, there is potential for more things to happen.

The most logical continuation I could think of would be Shaw escaping (maybe a new villain or some older villains want him to help them bring Toretto & crew down), and with Shaw on the run, Lucas Black joins the crew since he also wants payback for Han. The one thing they would need is probably a better story or a more compelling motive, because they have been using the "family" angle for several movies now. We get it. The crew is a family and they take care of each other.
