KenK has explained why some of us like the idea:
"All that does is create tension and drama, which is . . . . a good thing from a storytelling perspective. There have been plenty of stories in film in television where a hero has had to team up with a villain that has caused them immeasurable pain, and their interactions when they're forced to work together can be immensely satisfying for viewers. There would be that initial period where Dom is vehemently against it, and it's certainly justifiable. But at a certain point, it'll become clear that he'll have no choice." - KenK
I understand the story premise of that idea and its been done numerous times with rivals or bitter enemies working together for a common goal or greater threat. To me it just goes against everything that has been built up in these movies regarding the "family" theme when this guy murdered one of the family. That goes beyond personal for Dom. From Shaw's standpoint it may be a little differerent since he really didn't lose anyone. But ultimately it would likely lead up to a predictable betrayal. I see them adding Lucas Black to the team as he has the greatest connection now that Han and Brian are gone. Shaw and Dom working together is really a story direction I'd rather they not go.
