What little amount of respect I had left for Sanders is now completely gone. As Matt pointed out, this will allow Trump to undo a lot of the damage his rhetoric would've normally caused during the GE. Sanders is a moron for falling for this and should have the dignity to understand he's lost this race and is about to cause a lot of damage with this stunt. if he goes through with this and it works out like we all think it will this may actually be the catalyst that wins Trump the GE.

I'd say there's a good chance Senator Sanders is looking at this debate as a chance to passively smear Hillary. Its kind of like, "here I am taking on the Republican nominee, and you guys keep telling me I'm gonna lose the nomination."

Thats something I realized about the time it became clear he was intent on staying in the race no matter what. He is an independent riding the Democrat Party's coattails for its resources.

I really hope the Party learns from this. It doesnt make much sense to me to allow a lifetime independent to run for the nomination the very year they join the party. A person should have to put in a few years and prove they actually want to work with the party.

Donald Trump Officially Says No to Fake Debate He Was Never Really Considering

After Trump gave a half-joking sort of non-answer to Bernie Sanders’ request to debate during Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week, Trump has finally clarified his answer that “if [Bernie] paid a nice sum for a charity, I would love to [debate]!” The clarification being that Trump, in fact, meant “no.”

Of course, Donald Trump never actually had any intention of debating Bernie Sanders, despite his apparent newfound love of “women’s health issues” and the charities that support them.

Still, this is all must be very embarrassing for Bernie Sanders, who had even tweeted about how much he was looking forward to the event.

If I had to compare this situation to one scene in a late-90s Drew Barrymore movie, it would be this scene from 1999's Never Been Kissed:

Considering the crimes Ozymandias committed to achieve his plan and the fact that Watchmen implies in the end it'll probably be exposed so that it was all for nothing, that might not be the best comparison.

He's been encouraging Bernie's BS for a while now. Trumps ridiculous and false statement about Hillary and the DNC "not allowing Bernie to win." is meant to durther upset the Bernouts and wncourage Bernie. Trump is an idiot but he is good at is stirring up ****.

I don't see why Bernie would let himself get riled. I remember one of the tweets where Trump was ripping the DNC; he ended it with "Run, Bernie, Run!" Seems like you or me could read that, get the sarcasm, and not give it the time of the day.

edit: Were I in Bernie's position, I'd be quick to tweet my followers to not lose sight of the goal. I'd spell out that Trump sees us as, say, a nest of hornets on Hillary's porch - and he's effectively rang the doorbell, gave the nest a poke with a stick, and ran the other way.
