Iron Man 2 First look at Whiplash!

I'm guessing he will start out as Whiplash, then Hammer offers to upgrade his armour, and he becomes more similar to Crimson Dynamo towards the end.

Wasn't the first Crimson Dynamo's last name "Vanko"? That explains half of it. The other half...well, "Ivan" is associated with Russians. So I guess that's that.

I like it but if that was the FINAL product I would be a little disappointed. I do think there might be an upgraded suit which can handle taking on Iron Man.

Look Badass! The way it seems to be it's that he will be like the villain "Constrictor". Remember that guy from Marvel Comics that had steel lashes coming out of his arms. He whips people with it and also electrocutes people with it when they are tangled in it:

He seems more like Whiplash to me. It's sorta like his bondage outfit look.

I don't really like this. Hopefully it's a prototype and it'll include some armor and stuff later, because it seems nonsensical to me that he'd be able to put up a fight against Iron Man. Iron Man touches him, and it's all over.

but they are building a set for the grand prix so i think this will be pretty huge. not just talking.

I think it's underwhealming too, but cool for a backyard home-made attempt. I have no doubt that it will be upgraded. Favreau isn't an idiot. He also knows that at this point, Iron Man could easily take him out. I love the idea of his upgrade being CD.

I have to go with The Chibi Kiriyama on this one. I don't think Stark fights Vanko on the race track. I mean just look at Vanko. No helmet or anything. One repulsor ray and that would be it. But obviously Vanko is there for a reason. Maybe he came there to take out someone.

But an action scene on a race track sounds intriguing. I'm just having a hard time putting it all together in my mind. Why is Vanko there and who would fight against him? But I'm sure there will be race cars flying around and some serious destruction.

Well The Melter had no armor, he just had a melting ray coming out of his chest and wasn't killed by Iron Man. t:

I could easily see Tony not taking him seriously. I mean come on, whips? I would start laughing in my badass Mark III armor when someone came along to fight me with whips. So if he fights him, he probably wouldn't dodge and just block the whip with his arm, if at all. And the whips could be electrified, short-circuiting his armor and giving Vanko enough time to do, whatever he's there for to do.
