Overall, the suit looks like what CW wears in modern comics - nice butt, BTW -, the mask is the main issue, it looks like it was intended to be a mix of goggles - which CW wears in modern comics too - with a throwback to the kinda mask she wore in the sixties, like in the TV show, and it does hint at cat ears, but it just doesn´t quite capture the theme of the character IMO.

The easiest solution to find out if some of us are making a fuss over nothing is to take the image to some random person not familiar with comics and ask them who it is.

They wouldn't have a clue who it is even if you told them it was a Batman film. If they didn't know it was a Batman film they wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell of guessing who it is. The character should be as definable as Batman outside of the context of the film.

they can release the pic and tag it as selina kyle. how do u expect WB to restrict how other sites display the pic? Its been said before and ignored, people see selina kyle and immediately go "ooo catwoman!" and there is no getting around that. just be pateint the movie is a year away.

But sites can also bring up the fact that this could be Selina Kyle NOT in the Catwoman outfit. If this is not the final outfit then they are misleading viewers & ones that don't like it will say something

And if they had chosen to make the character "Random Female X" with this outfit, the cries would echo from on high about why they didn't just name her Selina Kyle since it's "obviously close enough"

You're over exaggerating now. I showed it to my friend who doesn't really keep up with this stuff and she said Batgirl, then said Catwoman.

She did ask about the mask though. lol.

To Darkhunt's post in the last one about people saying at least it looks like the Joker with his first pic release, that is very untrue. People said it looked nothing more then a grunge clown, we could not see the purple suit, we could not see the green hair, it really could have been a random clown. So its not the first time the promo pic is not the full costume.

Random people who aren't familiar with comics, by your very definition, wouldn't be familiar with or able to easily identify her even in the most faithful interpretation of the suit.

Sincerly, I hate it... She dosen't look a minute like a cat... Perharps that is why Nolan and Co. never called her Catwoman. But what could be interresting
and a "Tour De Force" for Hathaway would be for us to determine that
the cat lies in her performance, not in her costume...

/Film mentioned that it was tagged Selina Kyle and may not be fully Catwoman, so at least some people are reading about it.

I like the idea that this towards the end of the film, and she has the more traditional suit at the beginning.

He came close. I don't care about the whip but I want her to have the mask. It makes sense she'd steal some of Wayne's gear and then model herself after that. I'm just hoping this pic is from an early part of the film .
