I think I kind of like the costume so far. I can't wait to see the cowl, hopefully those glasses don't fit on top of them.

To be fair, we all know there are other images of Catwoman without the mask on.

Yeah you only mentioned the term once but it's not the first time you're complaining about those that aren't drooling all over the suit.

To be fair, I don't think he's been complaining about anybody not drooling over the suit. Neither have the rest of the people who've actually liked the design so far for that matter.

Like Keyser Soze mentioned in another thread, most of the people who like the design so far would like it even better if there's gonna be a cat-cowl(which judging by ChrisB's sources, there will be). And like others have said, considering they've practically got 95% of the suit right, why wouldn't they go the further 5% to give us the perfect Catwoman? It would be quite mind-boggling if they don't honestly.

If Catwoman's costume is going to evolve throughout the movie then this was a strange promo pic to release. It would be like showing Bruce in his ski mask before BB as the first promo pic.

That's not very reliable. In these films, Christian Bale is always credited as Bruce Wayne, Cillian Murphy as Crane, Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, etc. The only exception was Heath Ledger and that's because the Joker had no other identity. I still think we'll get the mask, but her being labeled Selina Kyle in the picture doesn't mean much when considering all of this other stuff.

I agree, which is why the recent photo of catwoman in my opinion is 100% the finished product. IMO, I'm quite happy with that product. When I heard the photo was on the official site, I cringed for no cat-ears. I'm in the opinionated group that agrees in Batman's existence, being the iconic character that he is, ears and bat like appearences are necessary. However, I'm pushing the envelope by saying Selina is to me, a cat-burglar, hence the name catwoman will be a reference more than a comic like trait. I think she looks amazing and saturated in the realistic story Nolan has created, with unrealistic overtones.

On the closeup of her mask, it looks very much like the catwoman from the idiotic 60's show.

In that photo, she looks like a professional con artist. Maybe, she's been trained by LOS/ Ra's. But she became good.

Miranda Tate wearing those clothes is just a diversion. Maybe she is part of LOS, but she's not Talia. Catwoman brings herself to the good side to defeat her father's motives...

This is why I'm in two minds about whether there will be an evolution of the costume, on the one hand it could very well be an incomplete Catwoman on the other hand it's odd they would release an image like that.

Right. Sorry if I've offended anybody but there's this one thing that's incredibly annoying that I keep seeing in various threads, it's essentially this:

If they've got a picture of the complete Catwoman costume, why have they released one of the incomplete one?

1. As you all know, they released this to beat the punch.

2. Why would they release an image that they could release MONTHS down the line, so early in the game?

3. This is what Catwoman will look like for the whole movie... kidding, I needed a third point.

Catwoman Mark 1 image lasts about say, 5 months.

Then they release either another image of Catwoman Mark 1 with Batman/in another scene and they've bought another 5 months.

Not long to go until the movie release, eh? They then release a final Catwoman picture of the complete suit, not an image that reveals everything, but highlights the key differences and then they do nothing.

You have to think about all of this from a marketing standpoint.

Well in general I love the suit. I think it looks great from the stunt double pics. I'll reserve judgement on the mask as I really wasn't expecting that but it doesn't bother me all too much.

Also do we know anything else about that other "mask" the stunt double was carrying? I was thinking it could be a calling card Catwoman leaves behind ala Sly Cooper.

People said the same thing with the Joker. All we saw was his face, no hair, no purple suit. People saw panda eyes, and a clown. Not the Joker. People flipped about it. Why did they release that first? I dunno lol, but they have done that in the past, I'm not shocked they are doing it again.

They released this picture because they knew that paparazzi would take shots of the stunt double outside today. I think it was a rush to get a picture out first.

Fair points. It's quite clear from the "quality" of the promo pic that they rushed it.

Don't get me wrong I love the actual suit it's self. Just give her a mask, give her some real goggles and ditch those Spy Kids glasses with da blue litezz. Maybe even give her a back pack. Then we have a perfect looking Catwoman.



Or maybe she got the glasses from her grandmother?

My point about the file name being sent as Selina Kyle and not Catwoman, is that the picture isn't of they're Catwoman. If that means there's a Catwoman picture coming at all, is up in the air. But I do think it's worth noting.

I think we have to bear in mind that there is still a full year before the movie's release, so it would be odd if Nolan decided to show off the highly anticipated full costume. Based on the pictures on set, it seems like WB released this version of Catwoman to us because they are filiming this "maskless" Catwoman out in the public today anyway.
