I just said that that style of "TV", which really isn't TV, is more acceptable for actors like Renner and Johansson to do, and definitely Hiddleston, especially since it's associated with their Marvel roles. Sherlock is paving the way with big Hollywood actors like Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman being in it. It's a very cinematic, short form of "TV" that's closer to being an indie film than television. It's not the same thing. And they wouldn't be "stuck" on it, it's an 8 episode or less miniseries.
While I don't disagree with you saying that Sherlock would be a great model for a Marvel mini-series, I'm not sure I agree with your premise that it's "paving the way for big Hollywood actors to do TV." When Cumberbatch & Martin started on the project in 2010, I don't think either was considered to be a big name. If anything, it opened doors for them to become big names.
That minor quibble aside, it at least says something that now they've become higher profile and still continue making episodes of Sherlock. And with the recent critical success of Breaking Bad and other dramas, I think TV is legitimately going to become a place where movie stars will consider television projects. And with the way stars seem to be lining up for Marvel properties, I think they probably have the best shot to incorporate big names into TV in some fashion. Look no further than Sam Jackson's cameo in AOS.
