Lighten up about the fact that you are comparing fans of a product to murderers? Why are you telling me to lighten up? For all you know I could be have something intimate in relation to an ISIS tragedy. It isn't funny and you shouldn't tell somebody to lighten up about it especially since what you said is just that bad.

Plenty of people make fun of ISIS.

When you refuse to joke about them your giving them more respect than they deserve.

Mock them all day long.

If Channing will really be dropping out, it would be cool if they gave Taylor Kitsch another chance just like Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. I thought they both did a good job in Origins, there are just a lot of other things that made that movie bad. XD

Josh Holloway for Gambit!!

This sounds great too!

Edit: I see another popular suggestion: French actor, Gaspard Ulliel. :D

Magic Mike XXL made $100 million worldwide on a $14 million budget. I'm not sure that's considered a flop, but I don't know hollywood accounting.
Also, for what it's worth, I asked my girlfriend tonight if she knew who Gambit was. Even with me showing her pictures she had no idea. I think outside of the nerd community, he's a pretty obscure character that no one would care to see unless he's played be a big name star. Given that it is, again, beyond stupid that Fox thinks a Gambit movie is a $150 million dollar blockbuster. I can't wrap my mind around that.

While I actually agree that Gambit will only be made (and only makes sense) if they have a star like Tatum playing the part, I don't know if obscurity is his biggest obstacle. I mean who besides nerds knew or cared who Star-Lord or Ant-Man were before the movies? Things like that can change so fast.

That was built on brand, which was built on other actors and characters. X-Men hasn't been able to build the same kind of brand.

Was never keen on the idea of a Gambit solo film, but Tatum was the only reason this movie was getting made.

With him out, I could totally see them scrapping the project altogether. In fact I'd be surprised if they didn't.

I still think it's all just a way of getting some news out there. A way to generate some Gambit news, which there hasn't been much of just yet. I doubt he will leave or they would let him go. And if he did then we might as well say bye bye to the project.

I don't believe Tatum will walk away from he project, he has put to much time and attention into it like Ryan Reynolds with deadpool so i am confidence it will blow over and work itself out

Taylor kitsch is out of the question for a solo gambit, even more so when you compare his star power to Tatum is kinda laughable

Because he's an awful actor and box office poison?

It's not like Reynolds is boxoffice gold either. LOL

And Norman Reedus as Gambit. Isn't Gambit supposed to be good-looking? :oldrazz:

Exactly. Which is why I find this report so baffling. If it was just an actor walking away from a project i'd be like yeah ok. But he's a producer. And has been getting this off the ground for a long time now. Flming is set to go in October. AND he was at comic con joining in on the large Fox/X-Men/F4 universe and the EW portrait session. It would look bad on his part if he leaves now.

Eh wasn't that interested in this anyways but yeah I hope they can this and we get X-Force or something. And LOL at that 150 million budget.

Hence why I said awful actor and box office poison, I think Reynolds can be good when he gets good material to work with (for example, The Voices).

Did this really have a $150M budget? WTF?

That's before tax breaks, realistically its around the budget of 2013's The Wolverine and the FF movie about to be released.

Devin Faraci mentioned that the story might just be getting Tatum a better deal. The one report with a source is just saying they've hit a problem and he might leave.

I'd be disappointed if he left, since Rupert Wyatt got the job my expectations have been slowly going up, but it wouldn't be the end of the world, the film is probably too close to schedule another film up in its place as well sadly.

Some people need to stop saying that Tatum has dropped out, the guy has not dropped out yet. Whatever the problem is could be fixed and the film could begin shooting in the fall.

After thinking on it, part of me feels like this is the same situation Emily Blunt was in when she was set to be Black Widow in the MCU or Jennifer Lawrence with Mystique in DoFp and Hunger Games. I feel like there's some sort of scheduling conflicts going on with another movie.

Lea Seydoux as Bella Donna Boudreaux would be a perfect casting decision.
Taylor Kitsch back IN ?

don't laugh, FOX brought back Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool

why not Kitsch?

Deadpool is being made on the cheap and the test footage got a good reception which is why Fox greenlighted the movie. Despite Reynolds not being the most popular guy people did like the idea of him as Deadpool.

Fox aren't going to cast Kitsch in a 100 million dollar plus movie after previous attempts at turning him into a star in big budget movies failed and his performance as Gambit generated little buzz.

Honestly I could definitely see scheduling conflicts being an issue.
It would make sense but he's had this scheduled for quite a while and I'm sure he's contracted. So whatever else he would be wanting to do would have to be pushed back or he would have to give it up. Schedule wise he would have left October to February open for Gambit. So what else is more important?

Whatever happened to that third 21 Jump Street movie mixed with Men in Black?

I think Michiel Huisman would be a good Gambit. Huisman lives in New Orleans and has roguish swagger as Daario Naharis in Game Of Thrones.

You make sense, that's why this is all so confusing. Just hearing that his participation in the project is in doubt is surprising because of how gung ho he has been about the project.

I guess that's why I agree that it could be scheduling or he could be bargaining for more money in the press. The problem could be anything.

Going by all the projects Tatum has accepted in the past and currently, I really don't think it's a money bargaining issue.

Bring back Taylor Kitsch!

And I don't think this film really needs a $150 million budget. 50 to 70 million would be fine!

Honestly all these complaints and worries about the budget being too high....

Why do you care? Is it your millions of dollars?

Why so aggressive? You know people here are free to give their opinion. Okay.

Yes 150 million is too high since Gambit isn't as popular to the mainstream as Wolverine and the main reason why this is happening in the 1st place is Channing Tatum not because people are clamoring for a Gambit film. 150 million was the budget for Wolverine's 1st solo film and the budget for The Wolverine isn't even close to that. So yes, $150 million is pretty big. This is also getting an October release and October is usually a quiet month for movies. The only reason I can see for this film having such a high budget are lots of visual effects and a very big paycheck for Channing Tatum.
