X-Force was not the return of the original X-Men, you're thinking of X-Factor which was the original five.

X-Force was started by Cable.

your right, anyway CABLE would be the way to go and XFORCE rather than FACTOR would sell better

Frankly, thank Apocalypse he's gone, I didn't think he'd be able to act as Gambit.

Not at all - Magic Mike has WAY more money potential in it than a Gambit franchise.

HUH? Magic Mike XXL flopped

it is said that Gambit is the second most popular Xmen in the comic Universe

Magic Mike XXL made $100 million worldwide on a $14 million budget. I'm not sure that's considered a flop, but I don't know hollywood accounting.
Also, for what it's worth, I asked my girlfriend tonight if she knew who Gambit was. Even with me showing her pictures she had no idea. I think outside of the nerd community, he's a pretty obscure character that no one would care to see unless he's played be a big name star. Given that it is, again, beyond stupid that Fox thinks a Gambit movie is a $150 million dollar blockbuster. I can't wrap my mind around that.

Gambit hasn't been popular in ages!

$100MM on that budget is the complete opposite of a flop.

Its got to be MONEY

Presumably. Nobody is saying he's left yet, just that he may be trying to get out of his contract and leave the project but negotiations are still ongoing. Give him enough money and he'll be back.

Exactly. Tatum has had big hits but there has been selling points . A superhero movie could be moderately expensive but Gambit is not that popular of a character.

Fox doesnt need this . Wolverine is leaving but they can do more Xmen. Maybe do an Xforce Film.

An 85 million budget sounds about right for a Gambit film. Not saying making an 85 million dollar visual effects heavy film is easy but that should be their price point.

I think Gambit's cool but I don't care if the movie gets made or not.

Oh lighten up.

Lighten up about the fact that you are comparing fans of a product to murderers? Why are you telling me to lighten up? For all you know I could be have something intimate in relation to an ISIS tragedy. It isn't funny and you shouldn't tell somebody to lighten up about it especially since what you said is just that bad.

I don't see them rebooting, they already did an in continuity reboot of sorts. I do hope one of these days they go back to the OT cast for a few films. Use some of those actors who got too little to work with.
I think that would be such a bad idea. Give the series over to the new Jean, Scott and Storm. They just need to hang onto McAvoy, who seems more then willing.

I am actually happy to see Tatum leave I always thought he would make a horrible gambit bring back taylor kitsch

You lot do realize that if Tatum does leave, the chances of this film getting made is drastically reduced right?

I didn't mean ditching the earlier team, I meant having two series running at the same time. One year period piece, next year future mutants, next year period piece sequel, next year future mutants sequel.

Come one, let me dream of more Ellen Page in these movies, Darth. :o

I know you want your Ellen Page movie Snow. I do to. It just seems so convoluted, with how the characters are changing and time is shifting around them. I felt like the whole point of DoFP was to reboot the series. Would seem like a step backwards imo.

sucks if Tatum did leave the project. i was against him at first but i started to really warm up to the idea. the guy has the looks and charisma to pull off Gambit and he also showed a lot of passion & respect for the character.

if Tatum doesn't stick around then just give the role to Taylor Kitsch. honestly, i thought he was one of the very few bright spots in the Wolverine Origins film and the guy is an underrated actor. this can help serve as his comeback of sorts to movies.

Do people really think the Gambit movie is going to happen without Tatum?

I honestly don't know. I would've thought you would have to pry the role from Tatum's dead hands. And there really isn't that many names you could build such a solo movie around.
