Not even 21 Jump Street? C'mon, you had to at least appreciate his charisma in that one.
Apparently I do not possess the gene that allows me to enjoy such silly movies. I'd rather have pins in my eyes than watch that. :(

Although I doubt you would... ouch? Anyways, nothing about enjoying it, that's why I worded myself so carefully, tryna be sly and **** but I guess I came off wrong.

Naw, I understand. I can't stand Will Ferrel either and yet lots of people think he's great. I just don't like comedies much is all. :)

Ironically, I first saw Channing Tatum in Stop-Loss and thought that 21 Jump Street would be like the show when he was cast, it was that Jonah Hill who always threw me off.

I've never seen Channing Tatum in a movie before but then again I'm not an aid moviegoer (I haven't been in a cinema since DOFP!) but I'm planning to watch mon ami on the big screen unless it's a no from the critics again.

I recently saw the two Magic Mike movies. The first one is better than the second one. Of course they're not master pieces of cinema, but for what they are, they are good. And Channing's acting was pretty great IMO, he just seemed so natural and real. Now that I've actually seen him acting, I think he can deliver a believable performance.

On another note, it seems filming will start on November 9th: http://www.projectcasting.com/news/gambit-starring-channing-tatum-is-now-hiring-crew/
Too bad, I thought it'd be in October. Another month to wait :-(

I believe principal photogrophy and other pre-filming stuff is in October, I too thought it was filming before.

THR saying the following.

Script issues have caused the film's budget to be larger than expected and prompting the exit, a source told The Hollywood Reporter. A statement is expected to be forthcoming.

Not terribly disappointed that he's out. Hasn't proved himself enough for me to think he'd really make this special.

Well, Ant-Man was a hit despite a director change, so everything could still work fine, but it's not the best sign.
I am quite worried tbh.

Gambit defently won't be out next year.

If another director is hired i wonder if fox will push wolverine to june 2017 and give gambit march 2017.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fox wanted a smaller budget and Wyatt walked because of it.
The 150 million Tatum wanted wasn't realistic.

Seems a plausible reason for leaving but so does the script/budget rumour, had no idea they pushed filming from around October this year until 'early spring' though.

Really wouldn't have expected script issues. Devin Faraci said 5 people told him the script was really great

El Mayimbe and Faraci are the same ones who praised Fantastic Four and Faraci said Daredevil would be a mess, so I wouldn't trust their judgement.

^ On one hand I agree about their poor judgement, but Faraci really heavily criticises the X-Films, so I don't think he'd say it unless it was reliable.

He's also talked about how Gambit is one of the worst characters in comics

Uh... I've seen Faraci outright bash this Gambit movie. He's made snide jokes about "Gambit the movie" and whatnot, so I have to imagine any script praise was specifically praising Claremont and not the film as a whole.

The director leaving, by itself, is not too bad. But rumors of budget fights combined with Fantastic Four (where budget cuts seemed to be at least part of the blame) is indeed concerning. It's Fox's money and they should be careful to spend it (and I though it was overpriced to begin with), but I don't want the movie to seem cheap either.

Kinberg is producing this?

Fox also didn't land their first choice for the female lead (I've been hearing it was not Seydoux). This film just is not shaping up as planned. They should scrap it and put their efforts toward something that's a better fit.
