Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 4

But I am. :o

And if the November 2019 move is true... Then lol. Another move! Here we go again!

Just because you heard about SMH two years before doesn’t mean they started working on it two years before.

While ASM2 filming in 2013, Sony knew they had a stinker. They contacted Marvel Studios for a Spider- Man reboot.
Work on SMH was much longer than 2 years.
Just because Spider-Man pre-production went smoother than Gambit means nothing. Some pre-productions are smoother than other pre-productions, that just the nature of the business.
So, your point is mute.

Its moot, not mute.

Sony did not contact Marvel back in 2013 when ASM2 was being filmed. That doesnt even make sense as there was plans for a third film and it wasnt until that movie came out in 2014 and bombed that they tried to lobby for another reboot in late 2014 with a deal announced in 2015. It was only then did they actually start working on Homecoming by hiring a director, actors, etc... That did not happen in 2013. On the flipside, Gambit has hired its main actor, several directors, numerous production and start film dates thrown out. We're in the second half of 2018 and this film isnt anymore closer to being done than it was when we first heard rumblings about Tatum headlining a Gambit solo. You're deluding yourself if you cant see or admit that this has been in production hell

The mute thing made me LOL

The dude lost all credibility on his 6th post when he said Channing Tatum was originally hired by Bryan Singer for the first X-men movie all the way back in 2000.

Wasn't he still a stripper by that time? Lmao

This was him ten years ago:

If Fox was giving him another shot though, I don't see why Paquin and Marsden can't get one too.

Gambit was fierce in Origins and he had chemistry with Hugh. If only they were appearing in an actual X-Men film instead of a Wolverine solo.

Agreed. They didn't have much screen time together, but when they did the chemistry leapt off the screen. It makes me angry they never appeared in a team movie together.

Just imagine Hugh, Taylor and James Marsden sharing screentime together over various movies...

It would have been something really special.
Thank u Fox

Add in Liev Schreiber. He was another one people were sad we didn't see more of. Good actor. His Sabretooth has potential.

Anyone still think this movie is happening?

Nope. Not realistically. Even without the merger I think Gambit was doomed to sit in development hell and would have taken a lot of energy from Tatum and co to get it moving.

Schreiber was a case of a character being far better than their comic counterpart. Comic Sabretooth is one of the worst X-Men characters, he has such disjointed characterization:

One Issue: ****s his pants because of Omega Red.

Another Issue: "OMEGA RED I SHOULD'VE KILLED YOU BACK THEN!"

One Issue: "PROFESSOR X REDEEM ME!"

Another Issue: "YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN ME PRISONER!"

Its just the over all misdirection of the franchise. that's like Marvel Stud10s not making more Avengers movies after A4 and just focus on solo films and prequel films for the team. Foxhad a chance to put Kitsch/Tatum/Munn with the original gang and just chose not to. Like I can't believe TaTum and Berry were in the Fox Kingsman movie but not in a X-Men film. And we know Storm and Gambit are very well connected to each other. Also fans have been wanting to see Rogue and Gambit in a film together.

Disney bought Fox not for x-men rights. I am sure that MCU has planned movies for nearest years and they won't make any X movie till 2022 or later

Also I am sure that Wolverine will be the first MCU's X movie.

I still think that Gambit and X-Force will happen.
Will see what will really be.

I certainly hope Wolverine will not be the first X-man we see in the MCU. I wanna see other characters properly portrayed before Marvel milks that Wolvie cash cow.

I don't know if Wolverine would be first since it went out at such a high level. They may want it to linger as new X-Men are introduced. Compared to the last pre MCU Spider-Man where the public wanted their pallets cleansed so Peter was put back in as soon as possible in Civil War

Yeah I think Logan has a slight edge over TASM2. :woot:
