There's still a possibility of this movie being made. Yes Disney has not mentioned Gambit or Channing and they said no mutants will appear for 5 years but god never said this movie was canceled so you never know. Divine intervention is still possible.

I agree, Disney never said Gambit was cancelled. It was taking off the schedule because it wasn"t going to make the March 2020 date, there is no reason to leave it on the schedule. Like Deadpool and X-Force it will probably be made under Fox, independent of Marvel Studios. Neither Deadpool, X-Force or Gambit are named on the new schedule, there are under the "Untitled Disney Live Action" label on the schedule

If they were planning on ever releasing the notorious Tatum Gambit movie, which was always pretty implausible ever since Disney took over, they wouldn't have removed it from their schedule. They would have set a new date. There is no reason at all for them go through with a project by a different studio that is so early in development and doesn't even have a director for so many years since it was announced. They'll do their own version at some point and I doubt it will be a solo movie, let alone with Tatum involved in any way.

I read somewhere they're pushing New Mutants back a couple of years and canceling Gambit.

Since there are no Avengers flims coming in years though, I think they should get Hugh Jackman and the original X-Men cast to do one final X-Men movie before the X-Men join Marvel. It'd be a huge blockbuster, and a nice way to close two decades of Xmen.

Since there are no Avengers flims coming in years though, I think they should get Hugh Jackman and the original X-Men cast to do one final X-Men movie before the X-Men join Marvel. It'd be a huge blockbuster, and a nice way to close two decades of Xmen.

I would be personally not against it but I seriously doubt they would want to push MCU X-Men too far in the future.
I expect some small teasing cameos in 3 years time, even something in Shang-Chi maybe.

You think they could get Jackman back? I dunno, he seems pretty adamant he's done. I know money talks, but a big thing for Jackman was that the character (that he loved and wanted to see done right by) got a perfect send-off. And everything I've heard him say since makes it pretty clear he thinks he got that.

By your logic Fant4stic is still not scrapped: Hollywood almost never officially cancels anything, ego and publicity and all that, projects just disappear and producers do not talk about them anymore.
That is the tell sign something is cancelled.

No but i think they could make a solid sci-fi film as a sequel to Logan. Say they open with X-23 (little girl from Logan) lost in a mall and attacked by Sentinels, saved by Rogue (Paquin), Storm (Berry) and Gambit (recast) (straight from first episode of 90s animations).

Make Magneto (McKellen) the terrorist he was in X1 again along with Mystique (Romijn) + a new Brotherhood. Bring back Cyclops (Marsden), Beast (Grammer), plus a new telepath Emma Frost (recast).

If they don't die on screen, you can easily write them back to life, imo.

She's a beast! And she reminds us of Wolverine so much already that having her get along with Beast and Storm, give Gambit and Cyke some tough love/a hard time would be kinda cool. Maybe even clashing with Emma Frost the way Kitty Pryde does in the comics at first since she'd have that new girl vibe.
