Jon wasnt wandering in the snow aimlessly. ACOK is a middle story that has alot of conclusion in ASOS. You will see the conclusion to exploring beyond the wall and getting in with the wildlings next season - in a BIG way.

Thus they are splitting book 3 into season 3 and 4

Btw, Jaqen H'ghar is one of my favorite characters in the whole series.

Love that dude, wonderful casting too

A man has said.

That scene when Dany locks up those two *****es: I cheered. I realized just how much I cared for her.

That isn't my problem. That is the writers' problem. EVERY review that I have read from critics who are not fans of the book criticize those two plots as being disconnected. Even fans who have read the books feel like these plots are the weaker aspects of the show. The writers have not done a good job endearing those characters to the audience and if these are the main plot points the writers have done a poor job of expressing their importance. Tacking on one scene at the end after a season of nothing really doesn't make it more important. It feels like a badly CGIed attempt at shock value.

These are the same fans who complain because the book isn't followed to a tee. I know them because I discuss this show with them. Not fun.

The stories are no more disconnected then the first season, when they were arguably the best on the show outside of Ned. Jon is isolated, but that is clearly intentional and far from "unimportant".

TOMG so much awesome. That White Walker at the end was BOSS.

Jon Snow's story will truly begin in the third season, I bet. This was all just an origin story to what'll be a pretty awesome ride.

Has Mans Rayder been cast?

Holy ****ing ****!!! Bring on season 3!!! That white walker was BOSS and his dead horse omg! The dragons too! So much awesomeness. This wait is going to suck. Bring on season 3 now!

My problem with this finale is the same as my problem with last year's finale. It is incredibly underwhelming compared to the penultimate episode. Basically it was just tying up some loose ends here and there. The big grand finales were (like last year), while visually impressive were two story lines that I give no **** about because they are so disconnected from the main plot. On a good week we spend maybe ten minutes with Jon and Dany and for the most part it has either been Jon wandering around the snow aimlessly or Dany overacting with her eyebrows and ranting about being the mother of dragons. It is hard to feel connected to them or feel satisfaction over Dany's triumph or fear for the wall's pending danger.

I loved how the end just screams at every one of the viewers and the entirity of everything south of the wall that this little war doesn't mean ****. The real story and true threat lies beyond the wall.

What an epic final scene. The wait for season three is going to be even harder than the wait for season two was.

Great episode! And overall a pretty solid season. My problem with the show seems to be the choices on editing, I hate when they cut away then come back on some characters. Theres so much going on it really helps when they just decide to hold out on a character for 15 min. Still best show on.

I'm a big fan of the books but I find the Jon stuff in the first two to be boring as sin, even knowing its importance to the grand scheme of things. And the only interest Dany holds with me in the books OR show is her dragons, so I guess that's one (or two) things Matt and I agree on. As great as I think these books are (and to a lesser degree, the show is), they're definitely not without flaws.

That said, I thought this finale was damn good, and I liked that they brought in the prologue to ASOS.

did we really need to see a close up of tywin's horse taking a dump lol

haha They should do that for every Lannister entrance.

The Jon Snow stuff seemed like it could have been wrapped in one or two eps instead of 10. Lots of walking.

Awesome episode. I am current on the books and I am pleased with how they have adapted nearly everything in this series. There are some aspects that I wish they had kept but the end result has been one of the best series on TV. So I'm not complaining. I'm only sad that now there is only True Blood to fill the void:csad:

The effects are surprisingly well done. [BLACKOUT]That shot of The Other on the horse at the end was incredible.[/BLACKOUT]

I do have to say that I understand why some are upset by the gratuitous sex. As much as I like Roz's incredible body, her storyline has clearly only been added as a vehicle for sex. Hopefully now that she is one of Varys's birds, she will become more interesting.

Anyone else really like the shot of the royal throne room destroyed and covered in snow? If that isn't foreshadowing I don't know what is. It gets me even more exited to find out where this story is going to end.
