Wouldn't Shadows of the Empire be something that's still canon? It technically contradicts nothing in the main line stuff.

Nope. The only thing that is canon pre-September 2014 is Episode I-VI, The Clone Wars (film) The Clone Wars series, and Darth Maul Son of Dathomir. And of course everything Post September 2014 is canon.

It has nothing to do with contradicting. Disney is laying a whole new groundwork, and will tell new stories in those time eras. Just like they are doing right now with Marvel's Star Wars, following events right after ANH.

Yeah he's been doing well for himself, and I'm happy that he's gonna be (hopefully) in an iconic role in a Star Wars movie.

And for a lot of the actors involved with 'Rogue One', it's a no brainer. Also, they're not signed for more movies so that makes it easier on them.

I can see maybe Smits coming back. Maybe. It's weird that he's never voiced Bail in the cartoons right? Why wouldn't he?

Maybe he just wasn't available? That is usually the problem with these things, though Phil LaMarr is a popular voice actor. So maybe logistic didn't come into play. Either way, Rogue One would be the perfect chance to bring him back.

He didnt have many scenes unfortunatley, i would have loved to see more of him, or heard his voice in TCW or Rebels. But acting like in SOA? i dont think Organa is that kind of guy, even though he DOES carry a blaster in the senate, so he can get his hands dirty if needed.

He would be the proper age as well, but they will surely have to recast Leia, and i dont know how i feel about that. I think it was going to be inevitable some day the characters would be recast for younger stories but i cant think of anyone that could do what those guys did in the movies.

But i would re dub Haydens voice in ATOC and ROTS with Matt Lanters for sure, that i can live with

And more Vader is always a good thing, im hoping for Palps as well, and some of the cast from Rebels, i dont want a SW devoid of the force entierly

I think most can agree with me, but Bail in the prequels never felt like a character.

I liked the scene where he goes to the temple. But like with most prequel characters and storylines, he was wasted and then rushed into the game late.
