The Dark Knight Rises Gary Oldman - "We start shooting next year. You didn't hear that from me"

i think WB may be controlling google, if you search for "news" on google for Batman 3, theres no documents that match. Or is it just me?

That's because we're the only ones who call it "Batman 3"

OMFG!!!!!!!!!! I was there to hear the announcment of Gary Oldman about the third batman film

nothing compares to how anticipated this is. straight to the top of my list.

made my day

Ha, awesome :word: It didn't feel like he let anything slip out (when you watch the SDCC clip) but that he was merely waiting to be asked about 3 and was given the go-ahead to drop that little piece of info. Terrific news :brucebat: :hoboj: & :2face: approve.

P.S. Whoever that was that had me envisioning Christian Bale spitting out his cereal or something and cussing Gary Oldman out over the phone....

Thank you :lmao:

This is just awesome on so many levels . I would of jumped out of my skin if I wasn't a skeptical person but now that it's sinking in

Guys, don't rule out the possibility that this movie may not come out during the Summer.

The other day I said it was impossible for the film to come out any earlier than 2012, but let's try a different timeline:

Inception released Summer of 2010, filming starts for B3 around late Fall/Early Winter 2010, filming wraps around June/July 2011, Post-Production kicks into high gear wrapping up around late Summer/early Fall of 2011, with a worldwide release during Oscar season, around Christmas 2011.

This is, of course, assuming that Jonah Nolan and David Goyer are writing a script as we speak.

I remember Jonah Nolan said, in an interview after The Dark Knight, that Nolan won't start shooting anything until the script is 100% complete and that he doesn't make heavy changes on set. The quality of their first draft could determine whether we get this in Winter 2011 or Summer 2012.

This not only made my day........

it made my year. :hehe:

No, it's not business 101 and it's not something that WB has been 100% concrete with either. If TDK was released in Winter, it would have won Best Picture at the Oscars and that would have meant a lot to WB. there are four films which have passed the $1 billion worldwide mark, and two of those (the highest grossing two) have been released in Winter and both absolutely swept the Oscars, including winning Best Picture. Out of the top ten worldwide grosses, a further 2 movies are winter releases. WB have released half of their Harry Potter movies in the winter, and there's quite a big trend that while Winter movies probably don't do as well in America, they pick up truly massive international grosses.

You honestly think WB is more wrapped up in Oscars for a third installment of a comic book franchise than summer box office... :hehe: Maybe if Nolan was anal and demanded a winter release so his movie would get slightly more Oscar consideration then maybe. Other than that, I think that's crazy to believe that.

i think your right. I don't think WB would have him on that panel if they knew he might slip something.

Honestly, does anyone here really care which season this comes out in?

It could come out February 2nd and I'd be the first one in line.

i would be glad to see a 3rd to end the franchise

i remember nolan said once that if the script was as good or better than The Dark Knight he will direct it

We are looking at it from the studio's perspective. The world does not revolve around the fanboys like we all seem to think occassionally... myself included.
