The only thing I would be willing to believe is that JJ might have saw this as a chance to extend the production window like he originally wanted to. But even that is hard to believe, because you'd think that time would have went more into pre-production and writing, not filming and post. They are going to have over a year for post.

Exactly. And apparently everyone loves the script, so more time needed on the pre-production aspect is no longer needed. That is where the true "desire" of the original delay came from.

And honestly there is such a thing as too much production time. There comes a point where the director and crew start tinkering just because they have time to tinker and they start second guessing things. We do NOT want that happening on this film.

Very true. If they need it simply for Harrison...fine, but I doubt it, they can easily re-schedule a lot of things. Like Darth Said above, pre-production is done, the true foundation is finished.

^ A bunch of level-headed posts in a row.

Just to change the topic for a second, are we thinking we'll get anything for Comic-Con this year? A title? A character name? Info on at least Edwards spin-off movie (since I think his is the first/the one with a release date)?

I'd love some official pics, but something tells me that's the long shot.

The lucky thing is Ford's injury is below the waist. So they can change some of his scenes and still shoot them. Instead of him walking or standing during the dialogue scenes they can have him sitting at a table or at a console or keep the camera above his waistline. This injury is a fairly easy one to work around. Move his dialogue scenes to the forefront of production if possible. Move the action scenes to the rear end of production. What you can't move you do with a double, and if need be use cgi face replacement. A technology that has come a very long way and would work for small bits if necessary.

Supposedly Disney plans to reveal the Episode VII title at Comic-Con, but please don't take my word for it. It's just something I read a few months back. So many dang rumors going around I don't know what to believe.

Agreed again Marv.

Though I have no idea about the title. That was the rumor, and would not surprise me if they did that there. Guess we have less then a month to find out.

I'd be happy with a title and some character names. A shot of Luke would blow my mind, but it isn't going to happen. I doubt any footage, especially when they will have another comic-con next year to do so.

The only thing I worry about is the script was done rather quickly, though it was written on the back of another script. One could fear it was a bit sloppy and underdeveloped, but I have a good feeling about it.

Very, very true.

Ya I don't really have that fear, from what we've heard it's excellent. The thing is he started re-writing it a year ago, and pretty much finished the final touches as Horn put it around April. And it was based off a previous script. With both JJ and Kasdan at it, Kasdan had more time for Episode VII then he did Episode V. That does not worry me at all anymore. Disney was apparently really happy with the script too.

So I doubt names...but it would be great. Having a shot of Luke would tide me over for some time.

My brother who has went to school for being an EMT said that Ford's injury would heal faster than someone who is not in shape. It also depends on what type of injury he has. From what I've seen and heard, Ford has normally been running and staying in shape for the most part. Not to mention he has some top notch doctors and trainers. I really don't see his injury effecting much in production

Yeah no doubt that Ford is getting some of the best care money can buy. Disney has a lot riding on him and his recovery. A good and proper recovery now reduces potential problems during the productions of VIII and IX. If he is in those films. Not to mention it was a workplace injury. Disney lawyers will want that fixed fast.

I didn't realize they had that much time. All is well.

Really? I thought they abandoned Ford is Liverpool to fend for himself. :D

They left Ford in a room with Suarez. There's no leg problem if there is no Ford left.

What Ford didn't realize is that Suarez grew up differently then him. Biting is a sign of friendship to Suarez. :hehe:

I've also been wondering a lot about this. There are certain key dates/events between now and Episode VII that Lucasfilm/Disney can use to make big reveals/announcements either about this film or the spin-offs:

San Diego Comic Con: July 23-27
Star Wars Celebration Anaheim: April 16-19, 2015
Star Wars Day: May 4, 2015
San Diego Comic Con: July 8-12, 2015
D23: August 14-16, 2015

Not to mention New York Comic Con, Wonder Con, C2E2, etc.

With the prequels, Lucasfilm announced the titles anywhere from 8 to 10 months prior to the release of each film. If they stuck with that timeframe, Celebration Anaheim would be the ideal place to reveal the title (perhaps as part of a trailer).

However, I have difficulty believing that they would wait that long to announce the title. It's a different world now from when the prequels were released. The voices of the fans are "louder" due to social media. Maybe Kathleen and JJ actually could "ignore the noise" that long, but I'm sure our lack of patience would be made very clear to them.

Therefore, I'm gonna guess they will reveal the title and character names at Comic Con...maybe an appearance from some of the cast? (If they really are flying the Avengers cast in from London, they can all share a plane...:funny:)

I think a teaser trailer will be debuting at Celebration Anaheim. A final trailer will debut at D23. Comic Con 2015? I dunno...footage, maybe?

(Obviously, I'm just throwing stuff out there...who knows, really?)

STAR WARS 7 EXCLUSIVE: ANDY SERKIS TALKS SCRIPT, JJ ABRAMS & MORE
28 June 2014
Andy Serkis exclusively talks Star Wars: Episode VII, JJ Abrams, motional capture and more

.........

“JJ Abrams and I met, and we just had this incredible kind of vibe between us. He said, ‘You’d fit really well in this universe,’ and I said, ‘I think I probably could.’ We’re working very closely, as I say, in two ways: the Imaginarium is providing all of the performance characters, and I myself am playing a character in it.

Disney usually seems to skip Comic Con when it's a year that they have D23, which happened last year, so I doubt they show up at Comic Con next year.

They showed off Avengers 2 at SDCC last year. So not always. But probably they will do everything at Celebration next year.

I am messing around with ideas in my head based on rumors. Han & Leia might not be together & there might be some search for Luke thing. What if Daisy is Luke's daughter ? Sometime after ROTJ Luke disappears & is never seen or heard from again. But Luke does train Leia to be a full Jedi & she knows how to use force powers. Say for some reason Han & Leia can not have kids. So with Luke gone they take in his daughter. They can be at odds with how to deal with her. Like Leia would want to train her as a Jedi after Daisy's character as a kid shows some force abilities & Han is against it. So eventually Han leaves & he goes to search for Luke & when Daisy's character is old enough Leia trains her & explains everything & then Daisy goes off on her own search for Luke. Eventually coming across Han & then gets caught up in the newest adventure etc & eventually the main three all meets up again & yada yada

It really may not be much, but on Boyega's Instagram today, he thanked his parents. The picture had a cross, a picture of him graduating High School, and next to those was a lightsaber hanging on the wall. Probably noting but maybe a hint that he is a Force Sensitive.

Well the rumors did say he becomes a Jedi and carries a lightsaber later on. Maybe it's a hint or maybe he's just showing his appreciation for his parents. :)

Ya, very well may be. But it was his parents that hung it up. It was just interesting, may mean nothing.

Is there anything more recognizably Star Wars then a Lightsaber? Vader maybe.

Stormtroopers, X-Wings, TIE Fighters, R2, 3P0, Chewie, even Boba. But as for hanging those on the wall lol I don't know. But it is something to talk about since there has been rumor that he will wield a lightsaber.

Dunno if this has been talked about yet today, but Andy has confirmed that he is playing a digital character of some type. He said that the Imaginarium (a motion capture company in London) is doing all the motion capture of performances, for all Star Wars, including his role. Oh and that same company did Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
