Yes, Marvolo does not want werewolves, that was me just being silly. He wants Mer-Men. :o

Ok so i have a thing for Mer-Men. Dont you judge me! Im free to love whom i choose even if they have flippers.:o

When George owned it that may have been the case. Disney seems to think there is more to this universe than skywalkers considering they are wanting a film every three years after the new trilogy. Rumblings are the star wars universe will be like the Marvel universe with many characters and stories. And i dont see why not. This universe is no longer just about one family. It is a grand stage where many stories take place.

Sure. "Rumblings." Never the less, Episodes 7-9 are coming from extensive story treatments and outlines George has had in the pipemine for a while now.

Anything wider than the scope of the Saga won't likely be "Star Wars Episode ___" they'll have some other naming convention.

Yeah the Episode naming scheme should be exclusive to the Skywalker stories.

I wouldn't mind if EU and these films are treated the same as 616 and Ultimates in Marvel...two separate universes with the same characters.

Well we did get zombies in a couple novels and Clone Wars.

I remember when Cartoon Network let the fans vote for which new Jedi would appear in a future episode of Clone Wars and this guy won.

Who did you think the prequels were going ro be about? Not Vader and Kenobi? What in the world would make you think that? And if you think films tagged Episodes 7-9 are foing to deviate from that family you are out of your mind.

The other stories that can be told are not for anything in the Saga. It's a family saga on a galactic scale. A movie solely about bounty hunters with no link to the Skywalkers would never be the kind of hit that movies about the grandchildren of Darth Vader would be.

Chill out and wait and see. Even if Luke is featured it doesn't mean the Skywalkers have to be the focus. There's been no indication that this will focus on Leia's kids or whatever such EU crap.

Who said anything about bounty hunters?

I have no problem with the story of the prequels themselves being about Anakin and associates but so much effort was made to tie in and reference every last little thing from the OT in the prequels and through digital manipulation reference the prequels in the OT.

Seriously, we don't know **** about these movies yet. No reason to start bickering over details that don't exist.

I would say that given George's fondness for the Skywalkers, there's a very good possibility his story treatment(which is what LFL and Disney are saying Episode 7-9 are coming from) likely has Vader's grandchildren. That's not to say they will be the Solo twins, or that Luke will have had a child, but that lineage isn't going to be abandoned in all likelihood.

And the EU sustained Star Wars as a living story for 20 years. Most of it is great, some of it is absolutely horrid, but it cannot be dismissed as "crap."

The sequel trilogy could be a great vehicle to pay respect to Lucas' vision, tie up that "generation," and lay the foundation to the next generation of Star Wars. Three strong movies, with three strong stories, that wrap up Lucas' vision. The end of Episode 9 could have that storyline ending while having someone (for example) discover the history and power of the Sith. That ends Lucas's vision and launches onto the next "non-episode" movies. Maybe not exactly like that but a general idea. Lay the Skywalker storyline to rest and then launch forward.

I kind of suspect that Lucas could have a doozie of a story in mind and it may have been set up in recent, less than stellar, EU novels. They are literally on the cusp of setting the timeline in a place that leaves things fairly open to whatever in a 90 year gap between stories that puts Luke as the 60+ year old head of the Jedi, Leia as a Jedi and retired politician and grandmother, and Han as grandfather. Those books left open a possibility for continuing the Mortis stuff introduced in The Clone Wars. If you're interested look up Fate of the Jedi on Wookieepedia. They should have a summary.

Completely agreed, I'm sure Disney/Lucasfilm plans to release Star Wars films pass the "Episodes" and those i'm fine with doing nothing with the Skywalker family.

I'd love to see some ancient Jedi stuff. Older than Tales of the Jedi. I think that's a long way down the pipe though.

What made me kinda mad about the 'episode titles' was that it extended title changes to 'The Empire Strikes Baxk' and 'Return of the Jedi'. They were just known as 'Empire' and 'Jedi' with a small Star Wars emblem until 1999.

Do you guys think Ep. 7-9 will go back to the "used universe" look of the OT? I really hope so, because it really made the sci-fi setting look believable. Prequels were way too polished imo.

I hope so. For the most part the sets used in the PT never looked lived in. They were very artificial (doesn't help that they were mostly cgi).

Donate 1 dollar to charity and then judge the man for doing what he wants with his own property.

Umm...the charity donations are a tax write off brotha and I have donated to charity many times and done plenty of volunteer work. Thanks...and I can give my opinion about it....just like Lucas can do what he wants with his own property.

Lucas wanted to cash out before it was too late for him....period. IMO.

Like I said, at least he won't be directing the new films anymore, so that means they should not be as bad as the last piece of crap prequel films. LOL

i dont think they can get harrison ford to come back can they make this work without han solo?

It will certainly feel strange if everyone gets their cameo and with Han it's like,"well,we sure miss Han ever since that time on Kessel."Then, the obligatory shot of his picture.

It could be a bigger throw away line than the Ord Mantell line in Empire.:woot:

But I think after NJO would be good too, mostly because I'm not happy with where the novels went after that. The best thing after that point is Legacy.

100% agreed.

If it is not about more Skywalkers then a KotoR era movie would kill.

I would also not object to an entirely new direction.

They've already confirmed that the ST is a sequel to RotJ. A new direction is a safe bet.

Are you also a firefighter? Can I have an autograph?

I respect Lucas for his donations. Bloody awesome and God bless him. BUT...It doesn't make me change my mind on the prequels.

And that's more than fair. It's when people don't separate the one from the other that there's a problem. A bad director a bad person does not make and vice versa.

Will there be Kyle Katarn is what I want to know...
