Ghost Rider 2 In The Works - Part 1

Here's the thing if Marvel gets the rights back I don't see them making another Ghost Rider for at least 3-4 years.

The question is how many characters is Cage going to play that has come out of hell, and has to deal with the devil?

I just saw the trailer for his new movie.. might as well call that the Flameless Ghost Rider...

As many as he can...isn't he in huge trouble with the IRS?

I agree. The problem for me was that even as a popcorn movie it was fairly lame. It didn't have one good fight. Ghost Rider pretty much punk'd everyone in about a minute. I mean, come on, when you're adapting a character that's known for his visual badassery, at least give us a good fight scene!

The fight scenes were pretty lame, they made Iron Man's fight scenes look like the Spidey vs Doc Ock fight by comparison.

Let's not forget how Ghost Rider was treated like a ***** by Blackheart at the end, that incarnation of Black Heart didn't even look tought enough to be Spider-Man.

Hmm long black hooded cloaks? Some kind of cult activity methinks

Wait, its already begun filming?! I guess I forgot....or never knew.

sorry if this has been posted before, but I didn't have time to read through every thread :)

anywho was wondering why this movie doesn't have its own thread on the main page with the rest of the upcoming movies? I was actually a fan of the original and will go as far to say...after ironman, incredible hulk, & the (dc) batman films that it was one of the better marvel films out there. Had just enough love story and some really cool action sceens. I'm not a Ghost Rider comic fan but the movie was good and I am excited for another! I also love seeing the manips everyone does and I have not seen any for Ghost Rider 2 and would really like to!! Thanks,

Well Ive been reading this thread from the beginning and dont remember anybody addressing that. Best I can figure the movie has generally been condemned before it even began filming and expectations are so low that I suppose we are lucky to be allowed a thread.

Maybe when it gets closer to release we'll get one?

Well I just got my statement from Sony. The effect budget was cut so we can expect to see Cage with Skull makeup and a bunch of grill lighters behind his head for flames.

That about sums up my expectations at this point. :)

I never seen Ghost Rider but Sony should just given this to marvel and use the budget to make another film. It not like Ghost Rider is this big franchise that ranks in money.

You won't be able to tell there are grill lighters behind his head because Neveldine and Taylor got it covered: the camera will shake violently, zoom into people's pores, dirt will fly into the camera, color schemes will change rapidly, and maybe we might even see some boobies in the unrated cut.

If I had seen Eva's boobies in the first one I would have given it 2 more stars....:hrt::hrt:

the effects in the first ghost rider were overused. more of that film should have been practical. the fallen angels could have been so much better, but instead we got visuals that were about as cheesy as their lines (except for the stone looking dude, that was alright) i think they went a little overboard with unnecessary shots, and for as big of a deal as they made about the fire effects for ghost rider himself, i cant say i was really impressed.

im looking forward to the new one, im fairly certain they will hit the mark they want for this film. as for the newly disclosed info on johnny blaze getting exorcised and nicolas cage playing the demon as well, that will be cool im sure

yeah sounds a lot closer to the comics with Ghost Rider being a seperate entity and all. even got the name right. lol. well i have zero expectations for this film. i just hope its fun

If it's half as fun as their previous movies I'll be happy. Hell, if it's half as fun as Punisher: War Zone I'll be happy. It's not like Ghost Rider's stories have exactly been anything above B movie quality anyway. That's what makes them so good. They could easily be grindhouse features and they should. Ghost Rider's all about how awesome you can make everything. The last movie was on the right track but totally dropped the ball on the action. Phenomenal action would have saved it for me. It was certainly enough for me to watch Jonah Hex three times this week.

I say if you're gonna go or a fun time at the cinemas then go all out. I like my alternatives to TDK. Blow **** up and punch dudes through walls.

I'm so excited for the insanity. I hope Ghost Rider has a sex scene.....I hope he burns his girl to death, and then does a line of coke just because.

This could be the movie of the year.

has it been stated what kind of rating their aiming for?

I really enjoyed Ghost Rider. It's no where near the best Marvel movie, but I did enjoy it. I really hope this film is as good as (or better than) the first.

It was a wrap for Cage last Saturday, according to the Neveldine/Taylor Twitter.

FX company secured

Iloura will work on visual effects shots for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, employing up to 50 additional people to work on the project between February and August.

Award-winning visual effects and animation studio Iloura has secured work on Columbia Pictures’ sequel to 2007 superhero movie Ghost Rider.

Touted as “the state’s biggest ever visual effects package”, Iloura will work with other VFX vendors on more than 500 shots for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, scheduled to be released next year.

“Being appointed as one of the studios is an acknowledgement of Iloura’s growing reputation in delivering high-quality visual effects,” Iloura executive producer Simon Rosenthal said in a statement.

“Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance presents us with another tremendous opportunity to work on a complex, Hollywood CG project.”

When did they say R?

Goyer's original script would've been R, but the 2010 draft (before Neveldine/Taylor signed on) was fit for PG-13.

Huh....I guess i'm assuming. You dont let the craziest directors in Hollywood make a kids film....it's too...blah.

We'll see though. I'll see anything Mark and Brian do. They had me sold from day one.

As long as the writers keep the tone in spirit and faithfulness to the GR comics then I'll be fine...................and have him eat jelly beans too because that's in the comic, right?
