Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back - - Part 11

Darren Criss, Naya Rivera, and Amber Riley just performed at the inaugural concert in Washington DC tonight and met Michelle Obama and Jill Biden afterward.

Amber sang "Beautiful", and Darren and Naya dueted on "Valerie" and Darren sang his own song "Not Alone" that he did for the Trevor Project a couple years ago.

Why is Darren stealing Nayas limelight!

Apparently Mark Salling is being sued for sexual battery for refusing to wear a condom during sex.

Sounds like the sort of thing Puck would do... :o

Ya I read that. My problem with it is that she says that he tried once and she stopped him but then he made another move and she just went with it but she says it wasnt rape. If she knew he tried a 2nd time and wasnt wearing a condom then she shouldve told him to go to hell and went on with her day.

Video of the performances:

I always have to laugh at Naya and her hands when she performs. And what is up with Darrens faces? But they were all great. I know RM doesnt want to lose Lea because of her voice but why would you want to lose Amber? Her voice is on point (same with Naya of course). And it is funny how Idol turned down Naya/Amber.

Darren just gets overexcited when he performs and can't help making his herp derp faces.

It's kind of endearing in a dorky way, once you just accept that he can't help himself.

Murphy's willing to lose Amber because she's not one of his pet actors.

I was about to question ranking Criss with Michele/Colfer until I remembered how quickly he went from being a guest star to having a more important role to play in the series than most/almost all of the regulars.

Also how Murphy went out of his way to plug him in interviews and attended his concerts.

Corys lucky that he is part of Finchel and they have a strong fanbase.

Since Michael Ausiello seems pretty certain that this is coming back for a fifth season, I wonder how many graduating castmembers will actually be sticking around. Unless she ends up at NYADA, I have my doubts that we'll ever see Tina again. And I guess we'll see if word that Morrison wants out is legit. I kinda hope Jayma Mays finds other work too. She's recurring now, so she can really do whatever the hell she wants without any contract tying her down to the show.

RM was talking to FOX exec about the future of the show so it is most def coming back for a 5th season. They arent going to let this show go out without it reaching the big 100.

And I remember reading how they werent sure if they were going to phase out McKinley or not so that may be another thing. We know Blaine will make it to NY, Brittany will probably pop up during the 2nd half while everyone else will just be around for special occassions.

But they really should start out season 5 during summer with all the originals going somewhere for vaca and then send everyone in their directions.

Oh and there are strong rumors out there that Santana/Quinn may kiss/hook up in the future.

So after seeing Les Miserables a few weeks ago (first time I've been exposed to the musical, despite it being based on my favorite book), I just want to say how I'm not at all looking forward to Kurt and Rachel singing "Bring Him Home." It's such a powerful song that I don't think two 18 year olds will be able to get to the emotional heart of. Granted Chris and Lea are older than that, but still.

I'm on the west coast, what did she do this time?

Pulling a Rachel circa "Blame It On The Alcohol" and trying to get with Blaine.

Tina, you have known that Blaine

A) is out-and-proud, downright chipper about being as gay as gay can be

B) is desperately, slit-his-wrists in love with Kurt

for how long?

And it suddenly occurs to you, for no apparent reason other than the Glee writers love making you look ridiculous, that trying to get all up on that is a great idea with some marginal chance of success?

What are they even aiming for? At least in season 1 with Mercedes/Kurt, as painfully obvious as it was, there was some plausible deniability there because Kurt had never been seen with a guy.

The same can't be said for Blaine.

And even when Rachel made her play at him, Blaine hadn't yet ever been with a guy either.

Tina just has no excuse whatsoever.

Also, sorry Oliver Kieran-Jones (Adam), but with car makeouts and Come What May hard on the horizon, methinks a promotion to series regular is not in your future.

So, just finished the whole episode, some thoughts:

- I was mildly entertained but fairly bored. Not as good as Dynamic Duets, Thanksgiving, and Swan Song.

- Tina and Blaine suddenly having these big crushes on Blaine and Sam when last we saw they were still pining away for Mike and Kurt is silly. Tina's especially. I can sort of understand how Blaine could get a crush on Sam: he's lonely, Sam has gone out of his way to befriend him and be a shoulder to cry on, etc. At least Blaine isn't as delusional about Sam as Tina seems to be about him, expecting him to kiss her, saying she's found the love of her life, etc. Tina....please.

- Puck/Kitty was a little creepy, especially the implication they had sex

- Zizes was so underused that they might as well not have brought her back at all

- Yay for Dom Barnes (Trent the chubby Warbler) for getting some dialogue

- "Baby Got Back" was ridiculous, and not in a good way. Just awkward and secondhand embarrassment. Yes, I realize it was supposed to be cheesy and ridiculous, but still.

- Rachel throws a hissy fit like a spoiled five-year-old because turkey burgers that take thirty seconds to reheat in the microwave got cold, and then five minutes later invites Brody to move in with her? Yea, this relationship is gonna go well.

- I don't find the guy who plays Adam appealing or charismatic at all, and looks-wise I think Kurt could do better, but oh well. It's not like he has a snowball's chance in hell anyway.

- At least Tina got to sing without breaking down halfway through, even if they still forced it to be in some horribly awkward context.

- Alex Newell is a much better-looking woman than man

- always like to see Beiste, even when she's just kind of "there" and doesn't do much

Baby Got Back just started. This is......... I don't know what the **** this is, honestly. :o

Just started watching this episode....

As if Tinas crush on Blaine couldnt be ridiculous enough, we get Adams Apples with Baby Got back.........................

And how is Sugar back in the club but the glee club is going to be hurting financially? I am guessing she will be missing that episode.

I also think that jake/Marley could potentially be more annoying than Finchel.

What did they do to Zizes? What happened to the girl who went after what she wanted? And why wouldnt Sugar ask Artie? So tired of them not developing those two.

This whole Warblers using enhancers is just lame in every way possible. They won because they deserved to win and ND didnt finish. Shouldve just went with the rumored VA getting found out about holding students back so they can perform.

Rachels head getting bigger and bigger shouldve been used to have Santana/Quinn come next week and deflate it by putting her back in her place.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the episode

The episode wouldve been good if we didnt have Tina crushing on Blaine, Rachel is full diva mode, Adams Apple singing an actual song, Zizes actually used for more than 2 seconds, Sam finding an actual reason to get the glee club back into regionals, the writers not looking back at past episodes and deciding what storyline they should reuse.
