Glee Episode V: The Sylvester Strikes Back - - Part 11

It's funny how this thread is more about complaining about this show than actually discussing.

As a Finn fan I consider that a step up from the feel sorry for himself all the time Finn of season 3 and early season 4. Finn, imo, has benefited from being ND's coach. At this point I wouldn't care if Will never came back.

Oh, I like him as ND's coach too. I think it's being really healthy for him.

I don't think this show will ever please everyone because everybody wants something different from it.

It was the same with Lost. I think it mostly has to do with the amount of characters. People get attached to certain ones and are upset when they don't focus solely on them.

The thing about Glee though is that it started out as the story of Rachel, Will, and Finn. It's changed since then but Finn & Rachel continue to be the lynchpins with Kurt in place of Will.

So people who complain that they get to much screen time (not on this forum) must have been watching a different show these last four seasons.

I actually still enjoy Glee more than most of the shows I watch (Once Upon A Time and Arrow are my favorites). I don't have any high expectations for it, so I'm never disappointed.

Their version of "Diva" from this weeks episode is so bad it's borderline offensive. I HATE when R&B/Hip-Hop songs get changed into that techno/electro/house music trend that's going on right now.

lol never in a million years. This show is a Heroes situation, through and through.

I meant in the way people wanted focus on their favorite characters and hated on the show when it didn't. I was part of the Lost fandom and I remember people whining when Charlie got an episode or when Locke or Sun (for example) didn't get a lot of screen time in an episode. Everyone wanted their favorites to have the most screen time.

Finally saw last weeks ep, I thought Overstreet did a good job with his little arc and I enjoyed Santana, Quinn & Rachel's performance, plus Kurt's reaction to naked Brody was hilarious. The performance of that Nelly track was ok as well.

Tina's on her way to getting about as stalker-ish toward Blaine as Kurt was toward Finn in S1.

Poor Jenna.

Also witness the double standard at work. Imagine the uproar if Blaine was acting anywhere near as aggressive toward Sam as she is toward Blaine. Everyone would be saying how inappropriate it was, but a straight girl doing the same thing to a gay man is supposed to be played off as "cute".

It's not cute. It just makes Tina look even dumber than usual.

Some general Diva spoilers

Santana is paying Elaine to pose as her girlfriend. They mouse-kiss.

Brittany doesn't want to break up with Sam because she likes him and he makes her feel smart. She tells Santana to go to New York where she can be around a lot of people like her and find a real girlfriend (because Elaine wasn't real) but not a best friend because that spot is taken. Santana call her her best friend. They also mouse-kiss.

Santana calls Brittany a genius again.

"Girl On Fire" takes place in both McKinley and New York.

4x15 synopsis

Still feeling the aftershock of being stood up at the altar, Will’s weekly assignment for New Directions is to choose aspirational songs from their favorite movies, and he pits the boys against the girls in a Glee Club mash-up competition. Snowed in at their New York apartment, Santana continues to ruffle her new roommates’ feathers. When her snooping reveals two shocking discoveries, it leads to speculation about one cohabitant, and elicits a difficult confession from another. Meanwhile, Finn tries to locate Emma; Rachel, Finn and Marley each make risky confessions with varying degrees of success; and a secret about Brody is revealed.

I can just tell that this whole [blackout]Finn/Emma[/blackout] thing is going to piss me the **** off.

I'm guessing Rachel is pregnant and Kurt confesses he slept with/is still in love with Blaine.

Are you guys thinking Finn bangs Emma?

Both storylines seem pointless to me with zero pay-off, and yes Tina is pretty much making Blaine uncomfortable at every turn where as Blaine's crush on Sam is all internal, yet no one has took Tina aside and served her some 'wake the **** up' pie.

We know there is no chance of Tina actually getting a good storyline but I had thought Blaine might get to grow a bit as a character without his relationship with Kurt defining him, but this just seems like regressing the character IMO.

We know they dont have sex (yet) but they do get their smooches on.

One of the spoilers protocida posted awhile back said [blackout]Finn develops a crush on her and they kiss, freaking her out and making her run away for a bit[/blackout].

I have a hard time believing Finn would ever do that to Schue, but considering how inconsistently written these characters are... :o

I have no clue what the secret with Brody is, but I've been waiting for his other shoe to drop for a while.

Seriously....Finn/Emma is even more ridiculous than Tina trying to convert Blaine.

Maybe he used to be ugly like Quinn and got a bunch of plastic surgery to make him hot.

But whatever it is it isnt enough to make him leave the show since he is still around after that episode.

He already told Rachel in "Makeover" that he was overweight and a unibrow when he arrived at NYADA, and some upperclassmen took him to the gym, gave him a makeover, etc.

Seriously....Finn/Emma is even more ridiculous than Tina trying to convert Blaine.

And that's quite a feat. It's like they were intentionally trying to top themselves.

They "succeeded".

Finn/Emma? Seriously?

That's taking making Finn into Will 2.0 a bit literally, isn't it?

After all the decent work they've done with Finn this season, now they're turning him into the home wrecker in his father figure's relationship. Good God, this show's writing is nothing but a cluster**** of bad ideas.

If it leads to a American Horror episode where Finn tries to take over Wills life entirely, I would be down for that.

Maybe they should have hooked Finn up with Kitty since they both seem to want to be just like their "icons"

And just when this season was making Finn more sympathetic than I've found him in a long while...
