it's an incredibly stupid thing to start... and fall into. but once you're hooked, it's very much a disease. It's incredibly incredibly tragic. he's been hooked on it since he was 19... apparently. That's a very very long time, i can't imagine the withdrawls the guy had :( it's really really sad

...his demons clearly got the best of him. It's such a shame.

I can't believe media outlets feel the need to put stuff like "Lea Michele has been grieving" in their headlines. It's like, oh really? She's mourning the death of her costar/boyfriend? I COULDN'T be more shocked! :whatever:

Not sure I buy that.

If they were "secretly" engaged, it stands to reason that they themselves were keeping it secret. I just don't buy that he would blurt it out over twitter while giving his condolences.

Nicks "tweet" I think was just made up. I doubt he of all people would know if they were engaged.

It sucks that Cory relapsed so badly after he already knew he had a problem and tried to fix it. Another sad casualty.

Yea, how would Nick Jonas of all people have the scoop on "Monchele"'s "secret engagement"?

I call BS on that one.

If he started using heroin at 19, it would have been at around the year 2000 in the Vancouver-Victoria era where he was likely living at the time.

Vancouver is still the drug capital of Canada, but in 2000 the heroin scene there and then was a freaking scary powderkeg of death and disease. He was lucky to get out of it, but I guess when something becomes so ingrained, it take a lifetime to repair.

It's just weird that he went back into rehab knowing he had a problem only to get out and 3 months later relapse (though I guess it is common for druggies). I would have assumed he would have someone to contact if he feared he was about to relapse.

Latest word is he was cremated today after a private viewing with his family and Lea Michele.

I heard. Though it is weird that Corys father wasn't notified until after it was done. And kind of sucks that his friends didn't get a chance to say goodbye.

it makes me question Cory's family... maybe it wasn't a great one

I have to question a family where a 13 year old boy is doing drugs and....nobody notices?

In what's at least some good news for this show, Jane Lynch and Dot Marie Jones both got Emmy nods this morning.

Can't say I think either of them was deserviing this season. They both had moments in seasons past, sure, but I'm hard pressed to think of what they did this season that was Emmy worthy.

Dot was barely around. I'm assuming she got a nod for the faux shooting episode. I'm kind of at a loss as to why Jane was nominated, though she seems to be the Glee equivalent of Meryl Streep who's nominated for walking into a room.

From experience in the drug field I can honestly say:

Some parents just... don't care or want to notice it seems.
