Gravity - Part 1

i've seen it twice. it's darn good. amazing on a technical level.

still think that Naomi Watts would have been better in the lead, but maybe not as much of a box office pull. Bullock was fine but, i dunno. part of it was the script. less would have been more with some of those cheesy monologues. but, hey, i'm sure some compromises had to be made to hold some hands and get butts in the theater.

There could be worse films taking up the spot.
I can't think of any other film less suiting of IMAX, even bad films like Transformers 3 are amazing to watch on the big screen in the best experience possible, with most MCU films you don't lose much by watching them at home.

This movie was ok. Technically is was good, Framestore did a really good job with their particle simulations.

I watched The Grey recently, and it struck me in a positive way ala Gravity. A stripped back story where characters are put into survival situations, and the ordeals they go through.

I like those type of movies. I want more.

Thrilling stuff.

It's easy to let Bullock's performance pass over you but the fact that she's the only one on camera for the majority of the film, yet manages to keep your attention throughout, is an absolute testament to what she achieved here.

Best cinematic experience of 2013 hands down for me, and maybe in years as well.

Of the two comments I've seen from them, both are basically troll bait.

Holy s**t. Wow that was amazing! All I heard was that it was a visual spectacle and not much else. And that is pretty much what it is but bloody hell what a spectacle. I don't think it's something I'd buy and watch multiple times as it really is a film for the cinema.

I watched it in IMAX3D but I have a question to people who just watched it in 3D were you still blown away?

Man, I'm really turning into a cynical *******, because I found Gravity mostly annoying. Sandra Bullocks character annoyed me with her amateurish incompetence. And I know, anyone might freak out in that situation, but it was just so annoying. Stop hyperventilating and focus!
I also found George Clooney's character annoying with his ****** stories about his ex-wife and stuff that happened to him in where ever. And I usually love Clooney!

*SPOILERS*

I also think he didn't have to sacrifice himself in that scene. I don't think the physics was righ in that scene. When they stop they get pulled to the direction of the stop. For some reason he kept getting pulled away, even though the line was snapped tight. So he should have been jettisoned back to Bullock's direction. I felt nothing for him in that scene.
And then Sandra is breathing carbon dioxide and almost passing out while trying to get to the hatch. Yes, let's stop and chat and stop to look back at Clooney. Sure she was exhausted, so maybe consentrate on getting to the hatch and not ****ing waste energy on talking.
Oh and the mother****ing music. I think there was 2-3 times a scene where she closes some hatch just in time and there's this roarin horn or whatever the **** it was that kept screaching all the way until the hatch was shut. So annoying.
And I got the symbolism when she got inside the station. She felt safe like in mothers womb. Yeah, ok, George Clooney is out there. You wanted to save him. Take you "me" time some other time. But ok, maybe I'm a bit nitpicking here. End rant.

*END SPOILERS*

I did like the ending a bit. Where she rises from the water, gets on land and on her feet and walks. That was sort of symbolic for something. Not sure what exactly.

Wow, this is one of the best reviewed films I've ever seen on RT (9.1 Avg rating). Is it really that good? Will be seeing for myself asap, hopefully can still find a big 3D screen showing it.

It is a must see movie of the year.

It has reached $ 515 mil. worldwide ! (on a 100 mil. budget)

Yet you didn't give it a full 10/10? Grow some balls and quit catering to other people.

Saying its the best movie of the year doesn't necessarily mean its as good as many, many other movies.

Never mind, they're banned already.

Does anyone knows where can i download the ''Aningaaq'' short film in HD?

Internet.
( yes this is a smart ass answer but I couldn't help myself ).

Sandra Bullock is 49...Damn, she look good for her age.

She's like Keanu (also 49) and doesn't seem to age at all.

Go back to the Jennifer Lawrence thread if you can't acknowledge mature women beauty with or w/o botox.

Note : I am cool, no animosity from my part, just regular forum joust.
