People of the Hype! Recommend me stuff!
The 2008 series, not the 1990s one

Yea, let's go ahead and split the difference, fellas.
Mamoa for Drax.
Physicality? Check. Ability to sell implied violence? Check. (Khal Drogo scared the **** out of me.)
Then again, how old is he? 32? *runs to Wiki* 33, apparently. Nah, that's a tad too young. Carry on.
I though talent and hard work make good actors.Your job doesnt make you a good actor, your passion does.
Exactly. And, y'know, study and practice. and if your JOB is that of a working ACTOR, that sort of helps too.
The majority of these people paid their dues and worked their way up the Hollywood system like, you know, professional actors. They weren't handed a lead role in a big budget studio movie when the biggest thing on their resume was an episode of Two and a Half Men or a terrible, terrible turn in an RZA movie or a bit part in a Tyler Perry romcom.Where is this snobbery coming from....?
Hey, in dramatic roles, I agree 110% that people from other professions need not apply and they should leave the acting to the, you know, professionals. But when it comes to ACTION films --- which the superhero genre, especially as espoused by Marvel Studios, most assuredly belongs to --- then it's perfectly acceptable to cast athletes and soldiers and cops and people who used to do action movie stuff in real life (more or less).
If you left action movies *only* to trained Shakespearean Master Thespians, we would've never gotten Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Duane Johnson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Van Damme, Carl Weathers, Jim Brown, Johnny Weismuller, Jason Statham, and many more. Yeah, none of those guys are/were ever in any danger of winning Oscars, either, but action movies just wouldn't be the same without them.
Spoons, my man. We're not saying dude has to be a trained Shakespearean actor but Drax has evolved from being some grunt. It would take more than being a body to play Drax.
The dumb fan castings don't really bother me; the notion that any schmuck can come off the streets and do what people spend decades of their lives learning to do kinda does.

I think you guys are placing way too much importance on these fan castings. I can guarantee you that no one that's actively involved in the making of this film gives a flying **** who any of you think is fit to play these roles, whether they be an award-winning actor or a former professional wrestling DTV star.
So what if someone on this message board continues to push someone that will obviously never end up in one of these films. Let them waste their breath. Does it really trouble you that deeply?
Channing Tatum's a pretty good actor when he's not trying to blunder his way through a GI Joe movieChanning Tatum gets tons of work. So yeah, it does seem that way.
He only got emotional when it came to Moondragon. Other than that, "Must Kill Thanos!" was the only vibe I got out of him.

Maybe for Pre-Annihilation Drax but after? Nah. He's evolved beyond that.
Hm, Punk would have made an interesting Star-Lord.
Finished issue 11. Even if you don't include his daughter, that dude is smart. He may talk little, but depending on the situation, he'll go completely existential on you. I'd love to see him go existential in a Movie. First you just know him as that quiet guy, who only talks when necessary, then suddenly he starts to explain stuff that would make your brain melt.
Yeah, no unproven wrestlers for Drax please.
