He'll nail it.

Of course he can't.

All I'm saying is that I don't begrudge any wrestlers for being wrestlers. I'm fine with begrudging them a role on an individual basis.

Considering Batista didn't even learn how to talk on the microphone until the end of his career, I imagine his speaking skills aren't up to scratch for a major role in a tent pole film.

Like I said in the other thread, everyone is allowed to audition for the role, and if they'll nail it great. It's not that I totally hate casting wrestlers. So far, only has even been suggested for the role. Just happens to be the case that the one suggested can't act worth ****.

Hardy and Hemsworth are both fighters. Hemsworth was in a street fight in LA a week before he got Thor

when I was in kindergarden about 30 years ago, I punched a girl in the face, because she took away a book I was reading. I wouldn't consider myself a fighter, though

You should have taken her wallet too. *****.

Who do you think you are, Hank Pym? :o

I don't know about that guys. I whupped Batman's ass, and now I feel like I can take on the world.

I have nothing against wrestlers at all. But for a character like Drax, a character I love, a wrestler just wont do.

Plus as I have said about 3 times now, when Drax speaks, he says important things with weight behind them, a wrestler just cant do this, the proof is in the pudding.

Ok how about this for your pudding
Shad Gaspard, 6'5" wrestler and shakespearean actor go to 2:35in the video

Just dropping in to say I think Tyler Bates (Super, 300, Watchmen) should score this movie. I loved his score for Super and thought to myself, "This guy has to do another superhero movie, but something more out-there and weird. Lo and behold, this movie could be a perfect fit.

We should be so lucky.

I'm just hoping for anyone but Levi.

Damn. Gordon-Levitt's potential involvement had me really intrigued. Edgerton would be interesting too, though.

I knew this was going to happen. The perfect actor was dangled before our eyes, only to be cast aside instead of cast. Sigh.

On the bright side, this means that JGL is still available for Justice League and the inevitable Batman reboot. How much joy that must bring to Batfans everywhere. :word:

I don't think JGL was the perfect actor by any means. He would've been a really good choice but perfect implies you can't see anyone else in the role. I can see plenty of guys as Star Lord, except for Levi. :o

It wasn't meant to be.

As a Batfan it brings me great despair.

Edgerton would be good. He's been hanging around, waiting for his break for a while now.

I don't think Levi is that bad though I know very little about the character he'd play so I don't feel I'm qualified to say that he'd be good or bad. What's Star Lord like? Is there comedy potential to his character? Is he a bit of an everyman?

Star-Lord is, by his own definition, a laconic character, and pretty much the ringleader of a circus. "Everyman" may not be an exact definition of Peter Quill, but the comedy potential (and there *is* plenty of comedy in the 2008 GOTG series) involves him playing it straight-faced and unfazed in the most absolutely bizarre, outlandish and otherworldly of situations. Kinda like Jack Burton in Big Trouble In Little China.
