**** I hope so. I have the first issue she appeared in. Don't know think it will happen though, it seems really weird for them to put her in when they just got the character.

Didn't I suggest her as Angela? And didn't someone (^^^) scoff at the idea? :)

Here's a dumb question does Marvel now own Angela? I know Neil Gaiman won the rights, but why would Marvel build up a character they don't even own??

Not familiar with the character at all.

Eh, it's possible that they're treating rumor as fact. The logistics do seem a little odd. Maybe they worked something out, though.

Isn't that what they did with Thanos?

Disney/Marvel may have purchased the rights from Mr. Gaiman. I'm not certain why they would do this other than Neil and Marvel executives really hating Todd McFarlane.

Good lord.

This is getting more confusing by the minute.
Nearest thing I can figure out is that it's a case of a whole ****load of cosmic entities/groups bringing the proverbial **** down on the Guardians' heads because everybody who's Anybody in the Cosmos wants whatever maguffin the team has in their possession. The Collector, Angela, Yondu the Archer (From The Future), Ronan the Accuser, Nova Corps, Thanos (hopefully....I'm losing faith here, Gunn :cmad: )....

One thing's for sure: if Angela is in her full Red (Gold?) Sonja half-naked glory as the newspaper article implies, then there sure as hell isn't any excuse to keep Gamora out of her pornstar gear. Make it happen, Marvel.

Maybe using Angela is posturing on Marvel's part. By establishing her in MCU it'll further cement future endeavors with Gaiman. Hope so, as I actually dug 1602.

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World - In Space!

Karen Gillan in full on Angela garb? To quote Psych, that could be too much for the human palette to handle, like a flavor seizure.

She's an angelic bounty hunter from the Spawn comics.

In 1993 McFarlane contracted Neil Gaiman (along with three other recognized authors, Alan Moore, Dave Sim, and Frank Miller) to write one issue of Spawn. While doing so, Gaiman introduced the characters Angela, Cogliostro, and Medieval Spawn. All three characters were co-created and designed by series creator Todd McFarlane. All continued to be featured in the series after Gaiman's involvement, and some had tie-ins with McFarlane's toy company. Cogliostro had a prominent role in the live-action movie in 1997. McFarlane had initially agreed that Gaiman retained creator rights on the characters, but later claimed that Gaiman's work had been work-for-hire and that McFarlane owned all of Gaiman's co-creations entirely, pointing to the legal indicia in Spawn #9 and the lack of legal contract stating otherwise. McFarlane had also refused to pay Gaiman for the volumes of Gaiman's work he republished and kept in print. In 2002, Gaiman filed suit and won a sizeable judgement against McFarlane and Image Comics for the rights due any creator. All three characters were then co-owned 50/50 by both men. In 2012, McFarlane and Gaiman settled their dispute, and Gaiman was given full ownership of Angela.

On March 21, 2013, Comic Book Resources announced that Angela would be introduced into the Marvel Comics Universe as a major character later in the year to coincide with Neil Gaiman's return to the company.

Shame all of that has to happen. I'm sure if McFarlane had played ball on the money side there'd be no issue at all. Oh well, I'm interested to see what Gaiman does with it as he is pretty much my favorite writer.

Neil Gaiman is fantastic, and he's been involved with Doctor Who as well! It's only logical his character is to be played by Karen Gillian. :D

Good lord, girl on girl action with Gillan squaring off with Saldana?

This movie sounds better by the second...

I didn't scoff, I said it's very unlikely to happen because they just got the character and it technically isn't their's still (its Neil Gaiman's character). And I still stand by that.

You're totally scoffing. Even yours scoff denial was a scoff. Scoffer!

Can I expect to see Marvelman/Miricleman in GOTG? seems all bets are now off........;)

until this is comfirmed by Marvel or someone credible i won't believe it. Angela seems like too much too early in the MCU

not too mention this is just some little newspaper, newspaper writers always get details wrong on geek news, it's like they ask their sons or daughters for info

I certainly haven't read any of the newest GOTG since Angela was dropped into the mythos; can anyone who *has* read it give us an idea of what her storyline is in the comic, and how she relates to the Guardians?

Her Marvel debut is GotG 5

Yeah she hasn't even debuted yet which makes me very skeptical of this

The only thing that would make me not skeptical is because the new GotG comic seems to be made in tandem with the movie

Eh, I dunno how true that is. Everybody made a big deal out of Iron Man joining the team in the comics, so somebody made up a completely fictitious post-credit scene for IM3 that was supposed to involve Tony flying off into space to track down an SOS from Peter Quill, and that turned out to be a bunch of fanboy hokum. Angela could be, too.

There has been quite a few different lineups for Guardians of the Galaxy. I don't think its coincidence that Marvel restarted the series with the exact lineup they greenlit for the movie. It doesn't make anything a sure thing of course, but I wouldn't be surprised if some story elements or visual cues synced up. I'm still skeptical about Angela but it at least makes the rumor plausible (somewhat)

Am I the only one that hates the idea of Angela being in the movie?
Marvel has plenty of characters to choose from...a lot of them cosmic in nature and I don't care who that cosmic character is I would take any of them over Angela.

ALthough I find the idea interesting that's about it....I would prefer if they kept her away from the Guardians altogether comics or otherwise.

Hell "Malevolence" would be a better character if they are trying to go with the whole heaven and hell thing and at least she is related to Mephisto and is a Marvel character
