Rhomann Dey of Nova Corp or Ronan The Accuser

I'm late to the game here, can someone summarize everything that happened between LR and Marvel?

One of their writers, El Mayimbe, was widely respected and known for his scoops, mainly Marvel, that were always on the money. Up until sometime last year that is. The scoops got more frequent and ranged from stuff like Star Wars to Fast and Furious and he kept being wrong and screwing up his rep, so now most people and a lot of journalists and readers dread whenever his name comes up

Gone from "EXCLUSIVE: Thanos Is Behind Loki's Invasion In THE AVENGERS", to

"feige iz bhind soopermanz bd reevews !1!11!!"

Deadline screwed up. Reilly is NOT playing Ronan, but he IS playing Rhomann Dey

:(

ooooook

Still surprised there are so many key characters being played by some very "old" actors.

These casting revelations would have more of an impact on me if I had the faintest clue who these characters were. :o

He doesn't seem quite the sort of guy I would get for rhoman dey. I was expecting him to go for more of the wackier side of marvel's cosmic characters.

Oh well, it's not like there aren't enough already in the film :woot:

which might explain it being set at least partly in 2035 if the speculations are correct.

It's not set in 2035. That theory originated from a motorcycle company that doesn't know Marvel from marbles. They just heard about a Marvel movie set in 2035 that would feature futuristic motorcycles. It's Days of Future Past, not Guardians of the Galaxy.

Days of future past is being filmed in Canada....the motorcycle company stuff was out in the UK. If it was for days of future past my guess is they would have hired a canadian or american company

you are right about one thing though...just because that post said 2035 it doesnt mean it is 2035...it could be much farther in the future or could even be in the present but on a planet that is more technologically advanced.

Yeah I don't think it was ever confirmed that it was for DOFP but it absolutely could be

when Sam sets his mind on something it's confirmed to him :D

As long as there are no space-bunnies around, I think we'll be ok.

Just because he's known for comedy doesn't mean Reilly isn't a skilled actor in all respects, including drama and musicals.

One of my favorite of his roles is actually Larten Crepsley from Cirque du Freak. He was able to maintain a character whose sarcastic exterior hides a very sad, tragic interior of an almost immortal.

wonder if we will see different languages being spoken among the alien species (like star wars - but not 'jar jar' speak)..

any have any images of rhoman day without the helmut from the comics? is he also human-looking like the asgardians?

If the Angela rumor proves to be true (I'd say less than 1% chance of that being likely), then it would be significant for a few reasons. One, it's Neil Gaiman. Then again, Gaiman's material hasn't translated well to the big screen at all. Two, it would represent an actual crossover between comic-book universes, meaning we could all start speculating on when we could see Hellboy, Batman or Sin City joining the MCU. Three, it would mean half-nekkid women, meaning half-nekkid Gamora would be a lot more likely now. And four, it would mean "Heaven" exists in the MCU, since Angela is a bounty hunter for The Big Guy Upstairs. Imagine how well *that* will go over with the religious right. ;)

No. Not with her already becoming a member of the Marvel Universe this month.

What's the deal with that? Isn't that a Spawn character? Why would Marvel only get one Spawn character and not Spawn himself?

Because Neil Gaiman sued Todd McFarlane for character rights, won, and is now bringing the character to another publisher (in a nutshell) not the whole Spawn franchise

James Gunn wrote on Facebook that he starts the pre-shoot tomorrow, showing off his trailer.

The reason Angela has become an official part of the Marvel pantheon is because Neil Gaiman - who co-created the character with Todd McFarlane - won sole ownership rights to her in a lawsuit and is therefore bringing her with him to his latest job with the company.

Also, as far as I know, Angela's appearance in the Marvel pantheon will have little, if anything, to do with her appearances in the Spawn mythos.

What kind of trailer? Concept art? Either way, sounds exciting that things are about to gear up for the shoot.
