I forget is Legendary producing this? If so, he's got a sweet deal worked out. I still need to see Devil's Backbone and even Blade II.

Yes they are. Devil's Backbone is actually a companion piece to Pan's Labyrinth. Blade II is way better than Pacific Rim, really inventive take on vampire mythology.

I'd love for this to be good. I really like Hellboy and Hellboy II. I just recently watched Pan's Labyrinth for the first time, and while it wasn't what I expected, I thought it was a really well made film.

Pacific Rim was terrible.

This, however, looks more in line with GDT earlier films. Moody atmosphere, great production design, etc. Let's hope the script matches these as well.

Thomas Tull lets Del Toro do whatever he wants. He's got one hell of a sweetheart deal over at Legendary despite having pretty much zero box office success. It will be interesting to watch how Tull handles things in the future considering what a disastrous year it's been for his company with Blackhat and Seventh Son tanking like they did.

Seventh Son was a disaster in the making for years, so I think Tull was prepared for that.

Eh, 400 million maybe not have been quite as much as they were hoping for Pacific Rim but money was made and a release date is set for a sequel.

I love that man, but his accents are a mess. Not only did his SOA accent not remotely sound like any of the other characters around him, but it sounded like he was going for some sort of New Yorker accent when the character spent his entire ****ing life in California. :o

Haha yeah I love that, when a character is supposedly born and raised in one region but has an accent from the other side of the country. It's like in Transformers 4, where Wahlberg is supposedly from Texas but sounds Bostonian.

This looks insanely good...and i'm not even into the whole horror genre much anymore.

Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro's new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just ****ing terrifying.

Nice, if Stephen King thought it was terrifying, then that gives me a lot of hope.

Another Stephen King tweet...

CRIMSON PEAK electrified me in the same way Sam Rami's EVIL DEAD electrified me when I saw it for the first time way back in the day.

Regardless of how much you like Kubrick's version of the Shining, every single criticism King has made of the film has been pretty valid. Kubrick took what is a very emotional, and for King partially auto-biographical, and made it very cold and distant. He turned well rounded characters into caricatures. The film is of course very well regarded and works in its own way but I understand why King doesn't dig it.

Pretty funny to see King call back to his own poster quote about Evil Dead. Raimi and co road that quote to the bank. Its been on the cover of pretty much every tape, DVD and Bluray.

Quotes from novel/comic writer Joe Hill, who happens to be Stephen King's son.

Remember that list I tweeted the other day, the 13 most beautiful horror films. CRIMSON PEAK is the most beautiful of all.

CRIMSON PEAK is Del Toro's blood-soaked AGE OF INNOCENCE, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurier territory.

It's nice how it seems to look good. That was never in questioned. But how is the story? I know they can't reveal much, especially in a tweet, but I wanna hear more about the quality of the film itself.

Yeah, it's really hard to gauge much about the story from the trailer.

Oh I'm not talking about The Shining. I've his thoughts on non-King movies. He used to do Top 10 lists for Entertainment Weekly.

Yeah, King is sadly lacking credibility as a film critic. I like his books for a weekend read, but Id never base my film choices on his opinions.

"Never" seems a little strong. I mean, he's not Armond White. :o

I watched the trailer for it and it was awesome. It's been ten years, since I've gotten a great horror film and I hope this one is it.

I didn't know Benedict Cumberbatch was suppossed to be the lead, but replacing him with another fangirl favourite Tom Hiddleston was a welcome addition.

Charlie Hunman and Mia Wasikowska are the dark horses of this movie.

I didn't know Jim Beaver was in this, he could be the unexpected fan favourite.

Some footage played for this at Cinemacon. It is getting good reactions but such things are not trustworthy. Still, positive reactions all around so far. A new trailer should be coming fairly soon. With what, I wouldn't know.

There's a Crimson Peak calander already for presale on Amazon...
