Like I said, we're not out of the woods yet. He sees that I roll deep with the city's finest and that could antagonize him for the next go round. But somehow I think he's done. Our meeting with him--and the fact that we were united against him--solidified things in his mind I think.

But he is gonna be living on the west coast. I am staying here--either in the Michigan house or New York. So it's gonna be out of sight, out of mind very soon. As far as I'm concerned, once the financial umbiblical cord is cut, Jason and I will really be able to move on and start our thing out the right way.

We are talking about taking a two-weeker in Hawaii or some tropical hot spot after this is over. I will need the break at that point...we both will.

If Dave signs over the house in Michigan to me, I will most likely sell it. It's cold most of the year and I'm sick of it. I have been thinking about buying or building a new home down south where it's warmer...like a summer getaway house. New York can be our homebase though.

If Dave signs over the house in Michigan to me, I will most likely sell it. It's cold most of the year and I'm sick of it. I have been thinking about buying or building a new home down south where it's warmer...like a summer getaway house. New York can be our homebase though.

I wouldn't worry too much about moving south. With record lows in Miami and such, it's colder than **** anywhere you go about now. yeah, 32 isn't that bad by a lot of standards, but -2 here in Western KY is more than cold enough for me. Granted, that is for only most of the winter. The summers are rather mild.
Anyway, back on topic, how smoothly do you expect the finacial stuff with David to go? I mean do you feel things will work out well, or are you afraid you may yet get scrwed by David in the end?

It's so hard to say. David is not "done" with us. He may have gotten his ass beat in that lockeroom and walked out of our meeting the other day in defeat, but he is not down for the count. Now that he knows I'm coming with full legal forces behind me--and a boyfriend who is in law enforcement--he will definitely be coming with his 'A-game'.

Honestly, not to brag, but we both make well north of $100K/yr (although David easily makes 3x that amount in gross) so for me it's not just about the money or what we own. At first it was, but after the emotional s*** I've been through now it's more about the principles involved and what's fair. I just want my new dude and I to get on with our lives. This may sound stupid but I would rather walk away from all of this and have piece of mind than keep stuff and have Dave's pettiness wreaking havoc on my life.

If I've learned anything in my brief 34 years of life on this planet it's this: Material things don't count for s*** if you're not happy or safe.

Now whether or not he chooses to stay away after the precedings I guess remains to be seen, but if your last meeting had any true effect on him, I'd bet he has at least some sense to leave you be for now. Damn, knowing you make that much I'd guess you really don't have too much to worry about should you need to get a new place and some new things.

I think that David has been trying to terrorize me physically and emotionally because knows that financially he can't really "hurt" me. I've always had all of my 'i's' dotted and 't's' crossed when it came to legal documents involving properties and cars we own togther. I could deal him just as big of a financial blow and he's aware of that. He's not interested in the money.

He knows as well as I do that peace of mind is something you can't put a price tag on.

I think that if I was still single Dave would continue to try to play games. But he knows about Jason--and it's already gotten physical between them once. That HAD to have make some sort of impression on him. Plus he is also aware that Jason is looking for grounds to arrest him so I think that while it's certainly possible he will bide his time and wait for a future attack, he'll more than likely move on now. His practice is based in Los Angeles and he's got a life there. His only tie to New York is his family so he'll still have a reason to come home throughout the year...but New York is a HUGE city...we don't have to see eachother, ya know what I mean?

At least I hope so.

It's weird...but for some reason at 2:00-2:37 in the video my eyes started to water up. WTF? I am getting waaaaaaaaaaay too f**king sentimental these days. Lately I've been feeling like such an emo pu$$.

From the way you describe him and the way he handles himself, I would love for him to have my back. But as I told you before, my agency is under such financial stress, I am taking furlough days and may be laid off in the very near future (yes, serious).
But there are plenty of local agencies that are hiring down here.....and it's warm! Then maybe the 3 of us could do some training together as well. t:
