The Force Awakens Han Solo Will Return

I read somewhere that he's older than Harrison Ford in ANH. Someone suggested the guy from Kingsman, I could see it if he can do the accent.

I wouldn't want to see Pratt as Solo. Indy, sure. But he's too old to play a younger-than-ANH Ford.

I know he can do impressions all day long...but can he act?

And as much as I love him, no Pratt please.

He's going to be Indy isn't he? I would love Pratt as I he is one of the few actors out there with a genuine worn in charisma, but they will likely be casting a kid like they have with Spidey, maybe the one from Maze Runner.

I say no to Pratt. I think he would work for Indy but not Han. There needs to be an edge of darkness to Han. Especially in his younger years.

I could actually see O'Brien more for than all the Spidey love he got.

I don't think they will go that young. From the rumors that be, this film could tie into the third anthology film which was the Trank film. I think most things point to that third Anthology film being a Fett film. I just don't think they will be going too far back.

Han was 29 in ANH. Even if they went back 10 years, he would be 19. They will go younger but I don't think younger teenager style. (Sorry I had the ages wrong).

Well I wanted him as I was hoping they'd cast someone more in line with SMTAS. :D

The thing is if this is going to be a trilogy of films they may well go with a teenage actor.

It's not a trilogy of films though. He may have a small part in the Fett film (or whatever the third anthology film is) some rumors have said. But that will only come out 2 years later. But I figure an older teenager is as young as they would go. Like 18/19.

How old's Han supposed to be in ANH, again? About 29/30, yes? If they were to do a story with him about 18/19, that's the way I could accept a recast easily. It would be way too weird if it set a year or whatever before ANH and having him not being Harrison.

Yeah that's why I feel 8-10 years may be how far back they go. But regardless the hardest thing of this film will be the casting of Han. But with Miller/Lord behind it I'm sure they will find someone like that. The biggest thing will be not so much just the looks, but really the swagger and the way the actor carries himself.

This was George Lucas's abandoned idea for young Han Solo (Episode III):

You know I wouldn't put it past them to cast Michael B Jordan as young Han

I STILL want to see Indy and Cap meet

I feel like the movie is in good hands with the team behind it, but seeing someone else as Han will be weird. Hoping they manage an appearance by Harrison Ford somehow, maybe like they did on the young Indiana Jones TV series once.

I have a feeling this has been in the works much longer than we know, and its why Sana Solo made her appearance.

Wouldn't at all be surprised. I think LFL have been very careful about SW from the get go. Good on them.

I think Lord and Miller will do a great job with Kasdan's script they just need to get this casting right. This guy has huge boots to fill and could perhaps be the most heavily scrutinized casting decision in recent memory. Also the fact Han who functions as a supporting character will be the lead. That's a challenge right there.

But I'd like to see more original anthology ideas than just prequel stories to characters we already know. Which is why Rogue One is such a great idea. That's a more interesting direction I'd wish they'd go in. Plus the 30 year gap between ROTJ and TFA is full of untapped potential that is more interesting than a Yoda or Boba Fett prequel film.

I think that as long as they spread it out, do different things, Star Wars Anthology should be great. A mix of original and classic characters.

The casting will be the big factor, it will be interesting who they get.

I don't care what the Anthology films are as long as they have good directors and writers behind them. Like I've said in this thread before the Han Solo trilogy in the EU was easily some of the best books in all of the EU. If there is a good story to tell, tell it.

I think they are splitting up their time. I mean half of the first phase is in an entirely new setting and place. I don't want them to start to fully explore the stuff between Episode VI and VII until after the sequel trilogy is out. I want most of the surprises to be revealed there first. But I won't lie, in the future I too hope for some really uncharted areas with the Anthology films.

I think in "phase 2" we will see them start to go into very different directions. The most interesting thing is all the great film makers Kathy is gathering under this umbrella, and how each of them sound unique in their own way.
