The Force Awakens Harrison Ford interested in returning....

Maybe Ford could finally get his wished and get killed off. Like while protecting his children, as someone mentioned in another thread. That would be a good way to go. Especially if he takes a couple of people with him.

Maybe, I don't know. It's not that I don't want him in the movie, I just don't want these older actors being the focus.

It could be quick, like enemies storming a house, Solo getting his kids to safety and telling them to run, no matter what happens. Then a couple seconds later, boom, a detonation that reduces the house to rubble. Could take place at the very beginning of the movie.

In recent years, Ford has soften his stance on Star Wars. In fact he did a QnA two years ago for Empire Strikes Back in LA. Even Chris and Jonathan Nolan was there in the audience.

I don't think he'll do another Star Wars just to get killed right away. It depends on the script and the director like what EW stated. I tho in retrospect, Ford NOW realizes how influential Han Solo was to many, including to many modern directors like Nolan, JJ Abrams, Whedon. and Jon Fav.

Also, I think he has a new agent and has improved his PR skills. He's no longer bashing Star Wars, he's gonna be (ironically) in another Sci-Fi film Ender's Game. Plus he has a whole slew of new high profile projects that all look promising and makes me forget about how his career sucked in the late 90's/early 2000's.

Somebody pinch me. This is un-friggin'-real.

Considering what happened to Indiana Jones, he better be good to Star Wars.

I feel like after the 'meh' Indiana Jones 4 and Desperate Measures, he probably had an intervention or something.

Bringing the character back only to kill him in the first ten minutes seems wrong. Especially given that this character is loved.

Then maybe his kids seek out Luke and his apprentice to find out who did it?

Yeah, but people also don't want the Movie to focus on the old generation. And if he's just going to have a cameo and maybe won't appear in the rest of the new Trilogy, might as well kill him off and make his death one of the driving forces of the movie.

Not in the first ten minutes. He's not gonna be be Cyclopsed ala X-Men 3.

Say what you will about Indy 4 and Cowboys & Aliens, but Ford absolutely brought it in both films.

As long as he goes out like a boss and doesn't act like a whiny b**ch. Or he could be presumed dead, only to appear later again for a short scene.

Well it took a moon to kill Chewie so im sure they could come up with something epic.

We don't know the logistics of Ford's role. He's open to it as long as there's a solid script and director. It could be a cameo or something more. And like what I've said before Ford doesn't have the same animosity towards the series so hes not gonna demand a death scene early in the movie. Why would he consider even come back then?

If Ford didnt phone it in I wouldnt mind him coming back, and I dont even think they need to kill him off. I would love a scene where Solo's age is an issue and Chewie gives him a lite hearted jabbing for it. I always loved their relationship and i can totally see chewie ribbing him for it the way long time friends do.

I dont know i can see him dying in the story but after 30 years, the public is really attached to these characters and han almost beats out all the rest in polls asking who is the best star wars character. it would have to be done really well and with great care. Him ging out off screen or only making a quick apperance to die is something that cant happen to a character who has become as deeply loved and respected as Han Solo.

Well, I'll be damned. I didn't think he'd want to be Han again.

ford is'nt really phoning in performances i thought he was awesome in cowboys and aliens and go watch the trailer for the jackie robinson biopic ford looks unrecognizable in that film

he also has enders game coming up

Not getting my hopes up yet.

For one thing he wasn't the one that actually said it. It came from a "highly placed source." So we have no idea who this source is.

So I'd like to hear it from his own mouth.

And if he dies like a hero, the last scene should be a grand funeral that is the antithesis of the ending of A New Hope. Sad but a celebration of a life. Also that's when you can quickly bring in Lando for a cameo.

Me thinks its actually Lucasfilm that is the source and this is their way of testing the waters for a reaction. Perhaps Ford's involvement is legit. Rarely does EW have exclusives and yet they conveniently has this Ford scoop along with Hamill's most recent interview about his and Carrie's lunch with Lucas.... It's all a plan it seems.
