The Force Awakens Han Solo Will Return

I'm going to say this about Harrison Ford, I haven't seen him look this happy and comfortable in a role for a long time. Like Sylvester Stallone in Creed he slips back into this role with ease, the mannerisms, the humour, the attitude, he's more or less picked up exactly where he left off 30 years ago.

Very true. He looked uncomfortable and bored in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a movie which, while far inferior to The Force Awakens actually shares a similar plot point to it: [BLACKOUT]After a long period of time, Indy/Han reunites with a significant other with whom he has a *****ebag son. He did. He really looked like he was genuinely enjoying himself.

He was great! I felt the banter between Han and Chewie was one of the films biggest highlights, and Harrison captured the aging rogue perfectly, he still had his wit and swagger, he's just a couple of steps slower. I also loved the scenes with Han and Rey in the cockpit of the Falcon.

I loved his meltdown with Finn and Chewie when they got to Starkiller Base,

[BLACKOUT]“That’s not how the Force WORKS! Oh, you’re cold??”[/BLACKOUT]

I actually think Ford loves playing Indiana Jones. It is just Jones is more like the real Ford than Han Solo is--he is grumpy and a bit of a gruff malcontent. Han Solo is always more social and lovable.

With that said TFA>>>>KOTCS.

I actually am very pained with what happened. It worked so well for the film and the character, but it really has left me kind of devastated that this is how it would end.

I'm of two minds with Solo. He was fun to watch and all, but I felt like he should've felt more different.

Heard a lot of sniffles and gasps when it went down...

My mouth dropped.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I would argue that Ford hasn't looked this good in years. I think it's just the way JJ shot him because he looked awful in Ender's Game.

Harrison was excellent

and yes, i shed some tears when that scene between Han & Kylo took place :csad:

I was robbed of the moment because someone in the crowd pulled a Shooter McGavin and actually stood up and screamed "No!!" while pleading towards the screen. I instantly thought of this scene and was trying desperately not to laugh.

A lot of gasps at my show too. And at least one "what???" from someone who sounded really pissed about it.

I was expecting it, I was dreading it, and I'm so sad that he's gone. I'm also dreading my family's reactions to this over the weekend because I don't think they know it's coming.

But, I thought it was very well done. It had the dramatic weight I was hoping it would.

Not going to lie, that shot of him touching Kylo's face at the end gets me.

The title of this thread hurts now that I've seen TFA.

In reference to the thread title -

Han Solo Won't Return. :csad:

Jesus man, spoiler tags. Have some respect for others will you.

The way it
ended for Solo
was not on point though....grrrr

A little community service announcement - can people have a little bit of respect for those who haven't watched the movie? There's a thread specifically for discussing the details of the movie where you can talk about what you want.

Why come in this thread then? It's so redundant.

It made me endlessly happy to see Harrison so comfortable in the role of Han again. Was one of the film's highlights.

It looked like he slipped right back into a comfortable pair of shoes after all those years....I loved it

Exactly.

Why do people who haven't seen the movie come here????

I stayed away from this site until I saw it today.

Really people, if you guys don't want to be spoiled, do not come here.

If you want reviews with non spoilers then go to RottenTomatoes.

Ford was great in KOTCS, but even better in TFA.

I don't get anyone saying he was bored as Indy in the last one. The fire he had in his eyes and his enthusiasm in the role, despite having to deliver some awkward exposition, was the ONLY thing the movie had going for it.
