The Dark Knight Harvey Dent/Two Face Thread

This is how Harvey changes:

Harvey Dent becomes Harvey/Two-Face when some gasoline that remained on his face catches fire, after a large explosion in the warehouse where he was being held hostage.

Let me know if you wanna know more.

You do realize that Burton produced Batman Forever, so saying "Burton's Batman Forever" isn't completely uncalled for. I am sure the journalist confused the directors but it isn't like Burton wasn't somehow involved with the movie.

Am I to understand that Dent
accidentally knocks gasoline over one side of himself?

I thought going after Maroni would be something understandably personal. Now it seems a little less relatable

I was fine with the way the scarring happened. I remember suggesting an explosion ages ago and we all like "noooo". The courtoom scene is very symbolic but you can understand why they did it this way. It has its own resonance and thematic relevance.

Too bad about Two-Face though. He's not in this movie. It's all Harvey Dent.

Well its not like every adapation they have used for the Batman Series and the Batman Movies have been the same

I mean true Batman Forever was probally the only one that got it the right way. We never saw the Whole Scene but we they did show footage of Harvey getting Acid thrown in his face in a court room.

The Animated Series was quite diffrent though.

Um Two Face is in the movie for 30 min.

So there's something i'm a bit unclear on:
Did Harvey die? Or did Gordon just tell everyone that?

You think I didn't see the movie or something?

I meant that he's not the split personality guy as he is traditionally portrayed in the comics. It wasn't two people with one being more dominant than the other. . He was only referred to as Two-Face once, and he didn't actually become a second Two-Face guy, it was just a really pissed of Harvey. And I'm fine with that, it suited the movie great.

How high would you rate it ? :cwink: :hehe::brucebat:

Well here's the thing folks. Old movie trick.

Dead is either eyes open and then close or eyes open with the body. Alive is always eyes closed. I'm more than certain he was knocked out and will return in the next (please god let there be one) movie with a little more touch of the crazy.

I really did love this Two Face, not only in look but in his actions.

He was the ultimate vigilante and used his comic gimmick to deal out swift and fair justice to those he saw as evil. But it can also be shown that he became so violent that he just wanted to kill them all, thus creating the full Two Face persona but Harvey acting by saying that he'll flip the coin. He was incredibly violent and rage filled. He just wasn't Harvey anymore.

I assumed Dent was dead, though it's entirely possible he's still alive.

Him being dead sort of wrapped everything up, what would Batman and Gordon do with him if he was still alive? He turned into a bit of a raving madman there and, like they said, Gotham can't see what has become of it's White Knight.

Though that may just be something that can be drawn upon in the future. Hmmm.

Hmmm...I haven't seen the movie yet, but according to what you said, you think Gordon and Batman assume Two Face is dead. So perhaps after Batman goes on the run, Two Face awakens which leads to Gordon to hold a fake funeral and ask for Batman's help in the 3rd movie since Two Face is back on the loose and Batman no longer needs to take the blame.

Seem about right?

I don't think there was a casket shown right? It was a memorial service with a picture only. I think he is dead. I mean Gordon though BAtman was dead until he moved and he was limping and obviously messed up from the fall and he is wearing armor, dent wasn't and fell flat on his back from a few stories. I think he is gone guys. They were speaking about how people will REMEMBER him for god sakes. It sucks, but it is most likely the way it is.

I also agree he was pissed off Harvey, it was good though. I miss the original court room version but, this worked. I just wish he would have been in longer, lived, and even shown some remorse, he just became a whirlwind killing machine at the end. I liked it, he still hit people who didn't die and the Maroni thing was good. Let him live but killed the driver which killed Maroni, classic.

After seeing it again, i have a new thought.
Two-Face is supposed to be mad i thought. Crazy split personality mad.
And in Joker's last speech he says something about madness just needing a push.
Batman pushed Harvey of the building, maybe he's alive and in the next film we'll see Two-Face instead of pissed off Harvey?

I know you're all going to say no, it won't happen, but still. It's what i thought of straight away as i heard that Joker speech.

I don't know. I like the idea of the movie trick. Of course, he's got one eye he can't close, you know.

I really like that idea. A lot actually.:up::up:

Anyone else think Two Face just might be about as dead as Gordon was earlier in the film? I'm not hanging on to hope that he comes back, but I think that based on what they've already done that they can bring him back in a believable way. As in Gordon claimed he was dead but stashed him somewhere deep in Arkham or something.
