Anyone else feel like that it would have been better to not have Superman partake in this whole DCEU/Shared Universe idea?

I mean looking back at things now, along with seeing the potential future for the character, Superman hasn't benefited at all from being in a shared universe.

He's not going to be a Justice League member and was killed off only because Snyder wanted Batman to lead/form the JL.

If Superman were allowed to be in his own standalone trilogy like how Batman was with Nolan, then the character would actually stand a chance in being portrayed well on film.

He will be a Justice League member.

In the sequel for sure (hopefully), assuming if we get one. But for the first film, he'll be more like an special guest star since it's very possible that he'll only appear for the big fight sequence and finale/montage at the end before the film ends. There wouldn't be any time for the character to join the league, especially after just coming back from the dead.

I don't agree, BUT I see your point. The problem as I see it is snyder sees supes (i mean, other than boring) as so powerful he could handle problems and t things himself. His solution is to sideline him. His whole quitting and going to the mountains thing, and now death. He can't think of how to use him, other than big powerfulish displays. That's why we got the montage, nice showy displays of power, but it didnt develop the character or let him shine like a single scene would have, like the expanded senate scene even. HE CAUGHT A ROCKET! KEEP THAT IN! caring for victims? That's boring, lose it. He doesn't get a single moment and the bat got like three. That says it all to me, frankly.

We need him in someone else's hands QUICK.

Glad to see someone else who feels this way.

As much as I loved BvS, this is one of my issues. That montage had no warmth to it. When snyder did the day of the dead scene, he left out the most important part for superman and that was the ACTUAL SAVE and interaction with the victim. Clark sees the scene on the tv and then skip to superman carrying her out. I wanted that rescue scene and we never got it. Showing images or articles isn't the same as actually seeing it play out. That's how you get the audience to feel it.

Crowd & Superman reactions evolution from Reeve to Cavill...lol

I mean the idea that Snyder keeps telling us that he wanted a reason for Superman to be classic Superman. So I think those reasons are completed. A new solo film directed by someone else.. Titled simply "SUPERMAN" would be great. It will be a direct sequel to MOS and will showcase classic superman.. And Superman can have his own trilogy. Hope they announce that at San Diego ComicCON too

Cavill looks lot like Steve Reeves:

Well that's a first, normally when I see old movies with characters who are physical people or warriors the actors in the role never bothered getting really big, they only got fit, this would be the first time I have seen an actor in an older movie actually get big for a role.

Steve Reeves was a semi-pro bodybuilder, and won the Amateur Athletics (AAU) Mr America. A fore-runner to Arnold Schwarzenegger really.

Was he a big star back in the day?
Yeah --during his peak years, he was the highest paid actor in Europe.

Reeves obituary:

Reeves later told an Italian journalist: "I turned the part down because it seemed to me impossible that the Italians could make a western. I was wrong. And Clint Eastwood was perfect for the part." Reeves also said that he had been offered the part of James Bond before Sean Connery.

The very act of joining the League (and becoming their savior) in the third act fight, taking part in the resolution alongside the rest of the League, and being the very reason for the formation of the Justice League arguably makes him the most important member in the League. So this hyperbole that he isn't going to be a member is just asinine and needs to stop.

Superman's death allows Suicide Squad movie.

If Supes is alive they'd have to do some lame MCU Hulk thing to ignore him in order to have to form a team to deal with a threat.
