At least you can't say Clark isn't polite and respectful.

So it's been probably discussed before for the next movie, but anyone else is getting slightly tired of seing the overusage of heat vision, yet no super breath ?

I want freeze breath!

I'm a bit tired of the overuse of heat vision also.

I don't think Snyder will use freeze breathe because it doesn't fit his pseudo-science explanation of Krytonian powers.

I think super breathe could be used though. Goyer already said Superman holds his breathe when he goes into space so he obviously has great lung capacity. No reason they could not use that as a explanation for exhaling air as super breathe.

Y'know, I'm even more excited about Clark's role in the DCU after the UC. He has much more of a presence that it even more feels like a sequel to Man of Steel. He's definitely the worthy successor to Reeve in my eyes.

I still feel the jury's out on Cavill's stamp as Clark. It's been way too minimal and sporadic between the two films. I don't know if I could even cite one sequence where he neither speaks in short spurts nor holds a conversation longer than a minute.

Routh had the same issue too. It's baffling how little lines Clark/Supes has had in the movies.

Hardly anyone in MOS or BVS has a conversation. Actors just speak lines or monologue.
It is my pet peeve about these Snyder DC films.

Characters make statements or give opinions and they rarely get a response. Either the writers don't know how to write for Superman/Clark or all of Cavill's lines are getting cut in editing.

They substitute dialogue for dramatic music.

The lack of dialogue frustrates me more than any plot hole.

Yes! That's what has been bothering me! I just feel like there aren't a lot of scenes where characters just talk back and forth for a while (Especially with the main heroes). We got a little bit of that in the interrogation scene in MOS. I'm glad to see other people noticing it, so I know it's not just me. Lol

Actually if he had the capability for super-breath then scientifically based on the Joule Thomson effect Freeze breath would be the next logical step, as the only way to have superbreath for any long period of time would be high lung capacity/compression and the compression would create cooling.

Good point man,the logic holds true but how do they show it in it's solidified form,I guess it would look out of place.

I think they have given it a thought and are trying to make it look convincing without good results.

That news is so funny because it's so damn dumb. Oh ! Where is Clark during a few days vanished from the daily planet ?... and then he dies the same day as Superman AND HE LOOKS LIKE HIM !. Hahaha I know this is how it is in the comic but that just highlight how stupid the characters are in the comics and the movie

While I get what you mean, Supes never struck me as much of a talking type in the comics. I think the chattiest one and one who's most prone to giving speeches is the animated series version.

"He was assigned to follow bigger and bigger stories for the Daily Planet". What a load of bollocks. :oldrazz:

Reminds me of this :oldrazz:

He was hired on Lois' recommendation? But Perry introduced them in MoS like they'd never met! Continuity fail.

Exactly! How can I relate to these characters if all they do is paraphrase quotes from other people?

Clark Kent's return doesn't have to be super in depth.

Something as simple as Clark having a meeting with Perry can work. Clark tries to explain his abscence. Perry doesn't let him explain by making sarcastically outlandish guesses which can be played for laughs (sabbatical in a Brazilian brothel? backpacking with Tibetan monks?). At the end of his rant Perry says he doesn't want to know (he clearly knows Clark is Superman?) and threatens to fire him if he ever disappears like that again.

And there you go. Clark Kent, mild mannered reporter of the Daily Planet, is back.

I'm pretty disappointed in how the Snyderverse has chosen to use the Clark Kent identity.

In MOS, there was nearly no Clark to speak of. I was ok with that at the time because the Clark bit at the end was a nice tease. I had hoped we'd get more classic Clark in the next film.

BvS did a poor job of Clark, IMO. There was no difference between Clark and superman, for the most part, and seeing that contrast onscreen is the fun/fascinating part of the dual identities. It really adds a lot of charm to the character if used effectively. I don't really blame Cavill for this. I think he could actually pull off DP Clark in a better movie. Even in MOS, we started to see different facets of the same character. The way he acted as superman when he appeared to the military was different than how he acted with his mom and Lois. Even then, the foundations for a dual life were being built. Adding DP Clark was a logical step from there, but BvS created an inhospitable atmosphere for it to happen completely. Both Clark and superman were presented in tense situations most of the time, so all we saw was scowling/tense from both (except when Lois was present; both identities had hearts in their eyes for her). DP Clark scenes would have been an ideal time for some less serious moments and just a bit of awkwardness for Clark to play against a dignified superman (who we started seeing in MOS's second half). It's frustrating that we may never know how Cavill would play Clark in lighter moments at the DP (or perhaps he isn't capable of a dual performance).

Of course, they had to kill Clark too, just to top it all off, so I'm not expecting much better in the next films.

Maybe they want a new direction for Superman. Him confessing to the whole world his identity. Be himself. Without any dual roles. I don't know.

i thought clark was fantastic in BVS especially the scenes of him in Gotham in the ultimate edition

To be fair, I haven't seen a full version of this ultimate edition for myself. Maybe the Clark identity does come off better there.

did anyone else dislike the Africa scene with superman/african drug cartel it was the only scene of superman i hated because it was uncharacteristic of superman to spear a civilian(criminal or not)through a brick wall when he could of easily flown(faster than a speeding bullet) and destroyed the gun instead, it realistically would of killed the man.

You really should. He definitely comes off better there.

Eh, I didn't mind it as much as many people seem to. I get the reasoning that it appears a bit too violent, but I can also understand why they did this, as it is more dynamic than him simply grabbing the gun. And I don't think the guy has to be dead or even injured, as I always assumed that Supes is the only one who made contact with the wall, like when he flies with Batman through that building in the title fight.

Edit: Actually, Batman did make a bit of a contact (though he had mech-suit so he made through it unscathed) and I've been carefully watching this gif now and am pretty sure that guy never made contact with the wall. It looks like Supes broke the wall with his head and fists, simply picking the guy up and carrying him for the ride.
