Since Henry Cavill’s agent is the Rock’s ex wife but still in Rock’s good graces then The Rock should pull his clout, even though he had bad BOX Office in his last movie, and say, IF NO Cavill in Superman then NO Black Adam for me.

Worth a try.

That would not be smart at all. You have to look after yourself in Hollywood.

We're talking about the same Rock who shaded part of his F&F family to go do his own spin-off and held up the series? He ain't looking out for Cavill in any way shape or form.

Saw Fallout tonight with my wife. That film is the epitome of real-deal action. The movie flowed and was doused in it from beginning to end without skipping a beat. A total thrill ride.

The whole time I kept thinking to myself how happy I was for Henry to actually be givin' more material to work with and be allowed to do things that showed off his natural presence. His delivery was really good and he felt very menacing at times. He basically held his own in a role that was one-note. I thought Cavill played that type of part really well and he served the role solidly. He had a great vibe going in the beginning. That eventually tapered off but I felt he picked it back up in the third act. A McQuarrie/ Cavil Superman film would be bonkers!

Breh, you should see Midnight Special. Jeff Nichols can deliver a great Superman film.

That's quite a.........long shot longshot777 and the Rock (and his agent) would be utter fools for doing this. Tell you what though the Rock and Henry can get together and figure out how to do a superman vs B.Adam movie, basically an adaptation of Action#775 with Black Adam replacing Manchester Black, that could work.

I liked Cavill in Fallout. Mostly the fact that it was quite a different role for him and that they went all out with it. That final sequence was great and a fair share of it came from him. It was cool to see him all [BLACKOUT]villainous and deranged[/BLACKOUT].

Peopled are just gassed up over McQ because MI:6 was so great and it has Cavill, but part of what makes it so great are the huge stakes balanced with the intermingling character moments of the ensemble cast. Save that for an event film with Supes I say. Let Nichols handle a smaller, more character driven Supes solo.

Nichols is a fine filmmaker, but like many small/indie directors, I don't think they would transition well into the realm of blockbusters.

I like character pieces as much as the next cinephile, but that is not what's required to reinvigorate the Superman brand. It needs a lively jolt which has all the elements of good storytelling and character development, but also has the goods fitting for mass audiences and the silver screen. McQ is far more qualified to actually hit that target.

For anyone that follows Korean Variety Shows. Henry made a minor appearance, alongside Tom and Simon, to promote Fallout in South Korea.

This franchise needs a crowd-pleaser. I wouldn't get too cute or too artsy.

Nah, I'd be willing to put money on Nichols delivering a damn good Supes solo and being able to bring out the best in Cavill at that. Just like Patty with WW.

WB is developing a Supergirl film.
https://deadline.com/2018/08/superg...iverse-oren-uziel-script-superman-1202440687/

EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros and DC are developing a feature film based around Supergirl, the heroine and cousin of Superman. Oren Uziel is working on the script, I’ve confirmed. Not a lot more is being divulged at this point, and it comes as a surprise considering most internet chatter has been based on what will next happen for Superman, who after the 2013 film Man of Steel, was conscripted to become key to the plots of Batman V Superman, and more recently Justice League.

Related'Supergirl': Brent Spiner Set To Recur On the CW Series
There is no producer on Supergirl at this point. According to DC mythology, the character was a teen when she escaped the doomed planet Krypton along with the infant who grew up as Clark Kent. Supergirl has been played by Melissa Benoist in the Greg Berlanti/Andrew Kreisberg/Allison Adler Warner Bros series creation that heads into Season Four on the CW.

It is unclear whether Superman will appear in this but if the rumors are true that Warner Bros and DC Entertainment are looking to create a new template for future Superman movies, this would seem a likely place to hatch a new persona. Henry Cavill, coming off a terrific turn opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible Fallout, has played the stoic Man of Steel in the movies so far.

The move toward Supergirl is reflective of a change in focus at the studio, where the superhero effort is now headed by Walter Hamada, who shepherded many of New Line’s genre film hits before moving over when the entire DC braintrust was dismantled after the lackluster Justice League, which grossed $615 million worldwide on a reported $300 million budget.

Finding a different way back to the Superman universe through Supergirl reflects the differing mindset of DC priority titles to be a bit out of the box, and away from a slate which, with the notable exception of the Patty Jenkins-directed Wonder Woman, has resulted in too many films that have been leaden, dark, and not that fun. And expensive — Man of Steel, Batman Vs Superman and Justice League carried around $800 million in production budgets to gross a collective $2.1 billion, according to reported budget estimates.

With every day that passes comes more news telling us that a Superman film is most likely never going to happen at this point.

Hate to say it, but it does feel like that.

Supergirl movie before any new Superman movie!!

Yup WB really doesn’t care about the first superhero!!

Nichols has more cred than when the Russo brothers made their leap. Nichols was also attached to an Aquaman movie before, he is more than up for this. If he gets with a good co writer, the man would deliver a great Superman flick.

Writing isn't my concern with him, but rather can he make a mass audience crowd pleaser. He strikes me more of an Ang Lee type. Wonderful vision, but not necessarily one that jives with the general audience.

Let's just wait and see shall we?! It's a no brainer to do a Supergirl film on the back of Wonder Woman etc. For all we know they could have been planning to develop a Supergirl film anyway and it could have nothing to do with Cavill's status. Another thing that hasn't been considered is that discussions could be going well and Cavill appearing in the Supergirl film could be part of his deal that's on the table.

They can also easily reckon her into the mos plot too. Just open back on krypton with her mom placing her on them spaceship tubes, from her pov etc, before her tube goes in another direction. Give her mom some cheese line, ''watch over your cousin, take care of eachother'' yada yada.

Or the past few Superman films have been met with mixed responses and while they figure out if they're going to get the man who played that Superman back or not they're developing a film about his cousin. Who happens to be a female superhero, which we know right now is a hot thing to have.

It's not always about caring it's about positioning things correctly.

Daniel R alluded to a Supergirl movie back in April so yeah it's not a ploy to scare Cavill into signing on for more Superman stuff.
