Definitely a pattern if they keep going, lol.

But seriously if Batgirl is getting her own movie, Supergirl should get one too, these 2 are at the forefront of all the girls merchanidizing, and parents want their girls to be Supergirl and Batgirl, not Harley Quinn nor Poison Ivy lol

Supergirl deserves to shine on the big screen again. I don't look at it as a negotiating tactic. It should be taken as a positive.

I just hope Henry signs. It makes things a lot simpler.

I personally have no problem with having a Supergirl film as long as it isn't similar to the CW TV series where it's just used as a platform for the writers to spread their political beliefs or go full Social Justice Warrior with the material. I especially wouldn't want it to treat Superman as a second tier character to Supergirl, regardless of how well she is received.

What irks me the most right now is that we have not yet gotten a proper superman film and that with every new and popular hero emerging within the DCEU, Superman is slowly going down the drain when it comes to his importance.

Pretty soon he will end up just being a gimmick wherr he is only used only as a mentor, cameo, or physical roles as opposed towards being properly developed as a character on film.

I still have not seen any evidence to make me believe in why I should give a damn about Hamada and why he is different from any of the corporate stooges that came before him.

If he can give us a good superman film before 4 years then I will be impressed.

After ALL of the crap that went down with BvS and JL, Superman fans have EVERY RIGHT to be frustrated and angry with Warner Bros. They have not made one single good decision for the character in years.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised. Though it would just add yet another reason for why I think Marvel is superior to the DCEU in nearly every way.

I love on how Kevin Feige approached the franchise. Set all of the main heroes up with their own solo franchises. If one of their films didn't hit all of the right note then he wouldn't waste any time in finding someone who could make things work.

Once he established everyone's solo franchises and made their group films work, then he starts to thinl outside of the box by focusing on other characters that werent as well known.

Seriously we need a DC version of Feige for the DCEU.

Yay yet another DC project in development that most likely won't see the light of day! Let's just added it to the pile of Nightwing, deathstroke, lobo, HarleyQ solo, SS2, Harley/joker, batgirl, GCS, booster gold, Green lanterns, Cyborg, JL2 and maybe even batman, superman and flash.
After all the false starts I've stopped taking any news regarding DC films seriously including Superman. 2 weeks ago it seemed that all is going to plan with cavill and wb and then it wasn't and then it was and now it's at a stand still, too much uncertainty to dedicate even a modicum of brain power worrying about it all, I'm just gonna wait and see.

Atleast Hamada is willing to build the Super-verse up. I always did feel SG was going to show up sooner or later. We've talked about Supergirl showing up in MoS2 before. That aspect is nothing new and I bet Superman will be a part of that movie and that will lead to a new Superman film.

The question is who will be Superman. Will it be Henry or someone else going forward.

They aren’t going to introduce Supergirl without him and I doubt they’ll go with “he’s off world” or shadowy Superman like the TV show.

They will either use Cavill or a new Guy, it’s really smart on them doing this actually as it gives them more time to talk to Cavill and if that fails more time to find a new actor.

I do also suggest people don’t get too ahead of themselves with Supergirl. A script has been commissioned that’s all so far. Suicide Squad 2 and Flash have gone through several scripts and we’re only just getting confirmation of the Flash filming next year whilst Squad 2 remains shelved.

It’s a good approach to wait and see though cause it was reported a long while ago that DC/WB were going to start developing several movies and see what sticks. This is a common practice in Hollywood with movies but because these are all DC movies people lose their minds. You don’t just develop one thing at once you try and develop about 10 things and you see how they progress.

A blogger told me SS2 is going through 2nd or 3rd iteration of the script, and i saw somewhere it possibly will be filming in the second half of next year.

While this Supergirl news came out of nowhere from Deadline, they are just starting a script, like BH said. GL had the script written last year and now Geoff is writing it again, lol, and remember Ben kept on talking about the right script forever 18 months ago? We are only getting that sorted in the next few months.

Christina started the BOP script I think at least least year, if not the year before, the film is still 1.5 year away.

I think people need to stop slapping the 25 DC projects in development on Hamada's face and realize he has basically given us a solid slate of 7 films within the next 2.5 years.

That's more than what WB has delivered since they announced the slate in 2014

We don't know, except that it has lost it's director (Doug Liman) due to scheduling problems. (that was almost one year ago.)

No it actually does start filming next year. Its been reported by Deadline.

I think with Superman things will work themselves out. Personally I don’t think the announcement of getting a writer to write Supergirl changes anything where Kal El is concerned personally.

Love his sheer in all this, but it doesn't matter how much appetite he shows, if WB are less than enthusiastic (and that's putting it politely, 'king w**nkers), it won't matter a jot, at this stage, they couldn't give two s**ts about Superman, that much is evident.

I don't look at Supergirl as a replacement for a Superman film. I look at it as another one of a hundred films WB has in development.

Now we know how Henry feels about Superman but we don't know how WB truly feels about Henry.

It’s not that simple though Mandon. They want to make more Superman films but they’re currently at a cross roads with the actor whose character has been in 3 mixed-poor received movies. You have to look at it from a business POV. Superman is a very marketable character but they’re not sure what to do with him. It would seem to me tying the actor up was first priority but that hasn’t panned out as planned.

There's plans for Superman. I really do think Hamada is lining things all up. It's going to come down to Henry and what the two camps decide. Until we get a conclusion to that situation, they'll be mum on the conditions pertaining to Superman. It's coming down to who and when.

1. Sign Cavill for 5 (or more) movies.
2. Add Superman cameos in some DC movies.
3. Buy some movie scripts for Superman.
4. Take pitches from different directors.
5. Start Pre-production for Superman movie in next two years. (If everything listed above materializes )
