Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

Part of me wants Abrams more for his clout than his directing. He comes aboard, gives the studio newfound confidence in Superman and gets the film greenlit. Then he produces with a wide possibly of worthwhile directors to choose from. That might be my ideal scenario.

All for Abrams producing, but I want someone else to direct. He is becoming this generations Ron Howard to me in terms of his flavorless Greek yogurt ass style of filmmaking.

If JJ is involved in any way then that supergirl movie should be shelved until Superman comes out first

Maybe that’s why there seem to be movement for 2021 then we heard nothing since

Given that season 2 of Witcher is starting soon he will have no way to do Superman. I would love to see MOS2 with Cavill but I think Abrams is probably going to write and help produce a Supergirl movie

If Superman gets a Director this year it likely wouldn’t film to next year anyway. So it certainly wouldn’t run rule out Henry.

How about JJ producing a Zack Snyder directed MOS 2 dun dun dun

Heck if you want to screw up superman even more lets just get Bryan Singer to come back again and co-direct the film with Snyder, think Superman returns meets Man of steel!!! Oh what a glorious movie that would be :o.
I would take Abrahams vanilla/rehash style over Snyder's 'visionary' bull***t any day of the week and twice on sunday. Flyby was full of hocky nonsense (non exploding krpyton, kryptonian/ shoe salesman lex and then later evil Jor-el) but unlike Singer and Snyder he atleast got adult CK/Superman's personality right and that's whats needed. Right now Superman needs a good movie, be it original or not.

This is it, Cavill as a person, is fantastic for superman.

Cavill in MOS, imo was just fine, he showed glimpses of what he should be, I feel BvS was a major step back, redirect from that I assumed I would see, leading on from MOS and JL well, less said the better - it's actually embarrassing to think a major studio handled superman in that way.

I do feel Cavill deserves one last shot... after all, WW1984 is holding the flag for the DCEU, AM did great and I hope can repeat and they are still going withSS, Shazam, Flash etc.

BOP flopped.

If it were me, I would focus on Pattison as it's own thing.

The DCEU is now WW, AM, Flash, Superman and Shazam. How long does the DCEU have? Well, I would say let it run its course - WW has another movie for sure. As does Superman. The Flash, potentially a trilogy due to ages etc. At the end of the day, actors may well want change, it happens.

The question of Batman, in the DCEU - I would have him mentioned off screen in a movie - I would even go so far to say a sequel to Suicide Squad can focus on Gotham at the same time as the events of Knightfall and can happen off camera, maybe news reports can highlight it - it can then make said heroes rush to Gotham, but it's too late. They leave the city in the hands of the law, with the squad doing odd jobs etc - Alfred let's the JL see Bruce, but he's bandaged and in a coma. They can use a stand in actor, lookalike.

Sub plot can then show that Batman is still active, although we know it's not Bruce.

That's how you separate the Pattison version. But, with SS making money but poor critics, BOP looking like a flop, I'm hoping SS2 does well but it seems Gotham will be ignored.

So, anyways, Superman can still be utilized alongside WW in particular and flash, cyborg and even GL all have potential.

The silence is worrying that Superman is in limbo.

They got the right guy. If Erza can come back, Henry should. The whole Rock, Garcia, Cavill thing is too on the nose. Surely things have a way of working out. WB proved they are fine with bringing the cast back. Affleck probably would have too but he wanted out.

BOP had a 48% second weekend drop and held on pretty well so it will leg passed 200M might end up anywhere between 210-260M on a 82M budget (break even is probably 240/250M) plus the merchandizing/streaming etc it will be an underperformer but not a flop like GL, King Arthur, Charlie's Angels, Ghostbusters etc. WB messed up the admin side of things but creatively it's well received so they will likely continue with Margot on that corner, but don't expect another Gotham female girls movie with an R rating lol

Agreed and BoP was a low budget movie, the combined production budgets of BoP+Joker+Shazam ($85 M+$62 M+$90 M) =$237 M is comparable to production budget of Man of Steel ($ 225 M).

If they make another Superman movie, they need to keep it mid budget, around $150 M.

It’s not Superman’s suit it’s one of those suit bags. Just happens to be red & blue.

Yeah, can't imagine Matt Reeves even dreaming of having any superhero in his Batman movie.

Black Adam and Shazam are shooting in the summer right? I know Henry's shooting the Witcher Season 2 now and he has said in interviews that the Witcher won't prevent him from playing Superman and you can "Fit two things into one year of shooting" and "you'll see" so, I'm not ruling out Cavill's return as Superman yet.

Does The Film Junkies have sources? Has he sourced to anyone over his time doing his videos? He chimed in with two Cavill gifs winking as a nod to him hearing something. At this stage though, what's smaller than a grain of salt?

I honestly have no idea. Would be nice if there’s actually something happening and Henry returns.

That Gabriel Gray guy keeps posting little Superman teasers on his twitter account but I have no idea who he is or if he has any credibility.

Maybe we'll be getting some Superman news soon once they finish the second season of the Witcher.
