This is it, Cavill as a person, is fantastic for superman.
Cavill in MOS, imo was just fine, he showed glimpses of what he should be, I feel BvS was a major step back, redirect from that I assumed I would see, leading on from MOS and JL well, less said the better - it's actually embarrassing to think a major studio handled superman in that way.
I do feel Cavill deserves one last shot... after all, WW1984 is holding the flag for the DCEU, AM did great and I hope can repeat and they are still going withSS, Shazam, Flash etc.
BOP flopped.
If it were me, I would focus on Pattison as it's own thing.
The DCEU is now WW, AM, Flash, Superman and Shazam. How long does the DCEU have? Well, I would say let it run its course - WW has another movie for sure. As does Superman. The Flash, potentially a trilogy due to ages etc. At the end of the day, actors may well want change, it happens.
The question of Batman, in the DCEU - I would have him mentioned off screen in a movie - I would even go so far to say a sequel to Suicide Squad can focus on Gotham at the same time as the events of Knightfall and can happen off camera, maybe news reports can highlight it - it can then make said heroes rush to Gotham, but it's too late. They leave the city in the hands of the law, with the squad doing odd jobs etc - Alfred let's the JL see Bruce, but he's bandaged and in a coma. They can use a stand in actor, lookalike.
Sub plot can then show that Batman is still active, although we know it's not Bruce.
That's how you separate the Pattison version. But, with SS making money but poor critics, BOP looking like a flop, I'm hoping SS2 does well but it seems Gotham will be ignored.
So, anyways, Superman can still be utilized alongside WW in particular and flash, cyborg and even GL all have potential.
The silence is worrying that Superman is in limbo.
