Justice League Henry Cavill IS Clark Kent/Superman - - - - - - - - - - Part 19

Beyond frustrated by this fact - I would say initially he was out, like out out. WB execs at the time did not like him, or at least that's the word on the interwebs, but ever since Fallout and The Witcher and the reception he's received in those projects he's used that as leverage to come back to the role. He truly wants to be Superman again, just make it happen already, ugh.

LOL, for a moment there I thought you meant Henry was cast in the upcoming Fallout adaptation for Amazon and got super excited. Then I realized you meant the M:I movie.

Honest to god I don't know why you all do this to yourselves, I knew from the day that BvS Dawn of Just***t was announced that WB doesn't give a flying fudge about the character, yet time and time again some of you fall for it! Honestly first time it was shame on Warners but the 1938 times after that it's all on you.
After the horrors shows that were SR, MOS and BvS I would prefer NO superman movie/related project to a BADLY made one because the character can only take so many disappointments before the audience stop giving a ***t.

Pretty much a timetable of what our "hopes vs realty" battle has been like since the release of "Man of Steel".

  • 2014-2015
    • FANS: Don't worry guys. Now that the origin story is out of the way, I'm sure that Snyder can focus on diving deeper into Superman's world. Plus, BvS now has the likes of Ben Affleck and Chris Terrio on board. They're the same guys that made the Academy Award winning film, Argo. We're in safe hands.
  • RESULTS: Batman and Wonder Woman receive more attention and critical acclaim, thus overshadowing Superman. Meanwhile, Jimmy Olsen is killed off in the first act of the movie and Superman sacrifices his life at the end of it.
  • 2016 - 2017
    • FANS: Don't worry guys. The reason why they can't show Superman in the promotional materials and previews for "Justice League" is because he's still technically dead. We're sure that he'll be the glue that holds the group and film together. What could possibly go wrong?
  • RESULTS: Superman's film franchise remains in limbo after barely being used in "Justice League". The character also becomes the source of a recurring gag on the internet due to the abnormality of his lower jaw (CGI Removal of Henry's Mustache).
  • 2018
    • FANS: Don't worry guys. Warner Bros and DC wants to make sure that they get Superman right this time. This is why they'll have him appear in several films, via cameos, in order to rebuild interest in both his character and brand.
  • RESULTS: Superman appears in "Shazam" as a faceless figure and hasn't been seen or heard from since.
  • 2019
    • FANS: Don't worry guys. Warner Bros is trying to secure Henry as Superman for the foreseeable future and are currently working on presenting him with a new contract.
  • RESULTS: Henry has no idea on when he'll play Superman again.
  • 2020
    • FANS: Don't worry guys. They have been using Superman's classic theme to promote DC Fandome for the past few weeks. Plus, we've been getting a few tweets from them with Superman being hinted and mentioned. Coincidence? We think not.
  • RESULTS: Not a single piece of newsworthy material was released concerning Superman. Instead, Batman primarily dominated the entire event.
Can't wait to see on what other excuses we'll come up with as time goes by further.:funny::applaud:dry:

Cavill should be let go. No point in agonizing over some cameos when even a full movie is so far now. This is beyond tiring.

This is royal crap. Why do all these superman teases then don’t even remotely mention him? I knew he was going to get the shaft, but that’s ok there are 3 movie Batmans so that’s all these ***** WB ever care about anyways.

Well, even I have to admit that Batman's really starting to overstay his welcome as of late. I mean, just look at what's in stored for him within an a few years from now:

  • A new (live-action) solo film next year, via "The Batman".
  • An animated film later this year, that will be somewhat of a retelling (aka rehash) of the famous "Under the Red Hood" movie.
  • A new video game, entitled "Gotham Knights".
  • We may also get an HBO Max original TV Series, dealing with the Year One story line and with GCPD at its forefront.
  • Both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will reprise their roles as Batman in Ezra Miller's "Flashpoint" movie.
  • New footage/scenes of Ben Affleck for next year's Snyder Cut release.
So with ALL of that announced from today's event, it's a little hard to get as excited for Superman's future. Sure, he has a new animated film coming out tomorrow. I also can't wait to see what his new live action series will look like next year as well. But that's pretty much it for the most part.

You guys get to look forward to trying to murder an evil brainwashed Superman in a Suicide Squad game!

It's quite depressing for Supes. Gets to be in a AAA game but isn't playable and is just a villain. Making Superman edgy or evil at this point isn't clever or creative, it's the laziest choice you can make. I don't want Superman of all characters being used in media like this whenever he is used, in 2020 especially.

I’m really glad this scene has been added to the film.

SuperRouth pointed out that DCFandome Day 2 in September has most of the Superman panels, even one called a Symbol of Hope where they focus on the Man of Steel being as relevant as ever.

That makes me feel better.

So people complaining about less Superman today are pretty much complaining for nothing when his day and panels are on the next DC Fandome day. Look a bit silly now.

How do we look silly? Look at those panels lol

Panel 1 : bunch of people sitting around talking about how great superman is. That's it, nothing special there. Can find that in any 1 of 100s of documentaries on Superman

Panel 2 : New Superman cartoon coming out. Cant speak for others but a new cartoon doesn't excite me. I'm not 12 anymore. So again, big deal

Panel 3 : replaying old and outdated radio shows from the 40s. Again, who cares? It's nothing new to look forward to as a fan

Panel 4 : legion of Superheroes comes to bluray. Umm ok. Again nothing new just old crap revamped and it's called legion of Superheroes, so not specifically superman related as it sounds like it pertains to all heroes.

Panel 5 : Superman and Lois. Now this is a new show. Something to look forward to not look back on as a fan. Sadly though its its starring Supergirls Superman so I'm sure itll be an emasculated Superman again dealing with CW problems.

Now outside of Superman and Lois the theme im seeing here is, 'We have no plans to do anything new with this character so we'll throw some old crap at the wall so you can look back on when the character mattered to people, enjoy.' Lol. I'm good thanks, I'll pass.

I'm cool now, I'm cool.

I’ve calmed down, probably helped that I looked at the schedule for Sep 12th and came across it all haha

Well, let's see what's unveiled then. I'm already looking forward to the "Superman and Lois" panel so if we get anything else released then that will be great as well.

I wouldn’t expect much tbh, I think the Superman panel is just a celebration not gonna have any reveals. I expect Superman & Lois may reveal some more plot details and hopefully tell us some of the villains we can expect in the future.

So people complaining about less Superman today are pretty much complaining for nothing when his day and panels are on the next DC Fandome day. Look a bit silly now.

I think most of us forgot about day 2 tbf and I do get their logic of let’s have the Batman panels on one and all the Superman panels together. However, I still think that in itself was a bad decision as they could have swapped a few around.

My biggest issue with last night though was & is still the lack of the BIGGEST announcements that were teased in the promos building up.

lol there's a Fandome Day 2?

2 more weeks of agony, then disappointment for Sup fans lol

Well we’re definitely getting Superman panels, I wouldn’t expect any announcements now anyway. I feel like the promos for Fandome pretty much lied to us when they teased the Biggest Announcements.

The only thing that made me feel better was they didn't officially announce a movie for anyone. There really were no special surprises.

Yeah, no new announcements outside of the Milestone comics panel.

They stuck to the films they had something to show. Even Black Adam was concept art and Shazam: Fury of The Gods only revealed a title so in a way, they aren't ready to reveal much else yet.

Like I said in another thread, I think most of the movie news will come from the trades and not from these events. We probably won't get some cool in-person surprise announcement. Instead, we'll simply read about it in some Hollywood Reporter article.
